Level up!

Ok, this isn't a stat thread, but I finally got the level icon I've been dreamong of for like a year and a half. All my life I've wanted to be a baseball bat on a light aura background, and today my dream has come true!

Pity that bastard Tom's probably going to change all the icons in a month.

In other news, I woke up at nine today and decided I couldn't be arsed going to school. I'm just that hardcore.

Im totally appreciative of the gesture by Tom, in fact I think for the sake of showing my appreciation i'll definately give a stab to an all tablet movie. I dont see myself switching in the long run though. I spent so many years working on my craft with a mouse that i would feel like ive thrown away the hard work it took to get to the point where i am.

Anyway I'm looking forward to it nonetheless and totally appreciate the effort by tom to support artists for the sake of the art and not just oh heres some money and prizes type of thing.

I had one for only one purpose: To decompile my swfs/other peoples swfs if they needed me to, but since I updated it, it keeps telling me to register again, and when i enter the serial it tells me it's valid and that it restarts, but it still tells me to register :S.

So I can't decompile for me or anyone else anymore >_<.

Tile Based Games?

I'm gonna be working on a new part of my site where people can get involved in the future games I make by making their own levels, characters, music, graphics, ideas etc.

Since the first game I'm gonna make for next year will basically serve not only as an average game, but also as an advertisement of what I'm gonna do with this new site feature of mine.

I'm starting with a platformer, but does anyone have any opinions of Tile Based Games and what sort of things you can achieve with them?

*In-n-out burger, which anyone outside the west coast probably doesn't know about.
*Retro gaming. The first few smash hits deserve praise. My NES gets just as much play as my Wii.
*Bicycling, because travelling 55-70 miles under your own power is fun.
*A nice clean pair of slacks and unwrinkled shirt. A nice wardrobe day makes the world go round.
*Sleeping, which I don't think anyone is going to disagree with me on.
*Making Flash stuff, but that's a given.

Dislikes
*Mean People. Seriously, there's no reason to be rude or obnoxious without reason.
*Uncleanliness. Wow, I can't believe how many people do not shower, ever. It takes a good 10 minutes a day, and will let the world breathe a little cleaner.
*Cars. Yes, I drive and use one, but only when I have to. Cars are ridiculously huge and are a hassle for getting places in any urban area. My road bike tends to get me places faster just from being able to pass most of traffic on the shoulder.
*People who call me a hippy or tree hugger for riding my bike. Geezus, it's the worst. God forbid I ride my bike to get places, but people get obnoxious about me being a hippy. For one, I dress pretty nicely, and secondly, I bathe, and third, I don't do any drugs of any sort. I don't know why bicycling gets me dumped in the hippy category.
*Homeless with animals. They have more important issues to take care of first.

Yeah, it seems every homeless person in Canterbury has a dog. It's an attempt to get sympathy as people tend to care more about animals than people.

Yeah, one thing i hate is people who complain about being poor, and who live on benefits, yet they still, drink, smoke and keep pets. Surely if you are trying to dig yourself out of a debt, you stop doing the things that cost you £20 odd a day.

Heh, I've got a think against taking cars everywhere too. Since I don't actually do any actual exercise, I try to make up for it by walking everywhere and eating as few packets of crisps and chocolate bars as bearable.

Likes:

* The sky - Seriously, it's totally awesome. People don't look at the sky enough.

* Apathetic teachers - VI form is great. If you're too lazy to do some work, or want to take an extended lie in, it's all cool so long as you're not enough of a dick to get yourself listed as 'cause for concern'

* Mean and apathetic teachers - Every lesson's a game of 'take the piss out of someone'. Quality.

* WoW - There's a lot of bad press about this game, but nothing beats the feeling of buying a load of plans of of some vendors for about 90 silver then selling them on to a net profit of 60 - odd gold to a load of peeps who were too lazy to look around for them.

* People - Sounds corny, but meh. I have a real problem disliking people in the long run. Everyone's cool!

Dislikes:

* People who know about cars - I don't give a toss about what make something is or whatever. To me, a car is something which exists to get someone from A - B. You don't see me having a two hour conversation about washing machines while you're stuck in the corner looking for an opportunity to walk home without looking rude. Not that I know a lot about washing machines.

* People who know about football - Pretty much the same as above.

* People who hate stupid things - Okay, taking the piss out of chavs and emos and steroid abusers and whatever is all fun, but don't get all serious about it. A lot of them do have serious psychological problems.

* Hair - I keep telling myself to get it cut, but then I think: "Hey, that's the easy way out! It'll fall out on its own when it gets too long!"

* Shaving - There's always that annoying bit you miss that ends up winding you up all day long.

Audio portal help?

Does anyone know where's the best place to look for some relatively peaceful RPG music (maybe a little bleak and sinister) for a Christmas game? The sort of thing you'd imagine having in the background whilst walking through a village in one of the 2D Final Fantasy games (Narsche or whatever it was called in FFVI is a good example of the type of place) while not being a direct rip off?

Well they can get benefits for having dogs. I can't remember how.. not like "If you take on a dog you can have money", to do with giving the dog a decent living I think. Also, some tramps are really cool. There's some here who everyone knows.

Stayed behind an extra 4 hours today in college to make a trailer for Ressy dogs and still didn't finish.. eek. Now am watching T2. It's intresting how well colour can make a scene stick in your mind, and how well you remember settings rather to characters or plot. For example the bike chase through LA (right?) sewers. Very stylistic, very memorable.

Also little gimmicky things, Arnie reloading on the bike for example.

Try looking at the audio portal person in my last movie (medieval7) He did alot of pretty cool movie like gandeur classical shit. Usually for that genre that your doing your game on it works out. *shrug*

- school. sure, call me a nerd, but i only like school because it's the only way i can be with my friends because none live close to me.

- music. last year, when i was in a deep depression, music was the only thing keeping me going. i still love my music, but not for the same reasons.

- drawing. i've been drawing my whole life, but my talent only started to show in 8th grade. i'm not saying i'm an artist, but i learned how to draw people and my skill in drawing has gotten better since.

- flash. making and playing it is fun. i love playing games because i try to come up with how they did a certain feature or whatever in their game. it occasionally keeps me up at night because i get so damned curious.

- instant messengers. while at school, a lot of my friends typically ignore me when we get our daily 20-minute after first period. they just have other, more "interesting" people to talk to. on msn, being able to talk one-on-one with someone and no chance of being interrupted makes me feel more comfortable in talking to people.

dislikes:

- people. most notably, every kid at my school, and especially freshmen. they're all ignorant, obsessed with myspace, their cell phone, or their ipod, arrogant, selfish, loud, and stupid. they frustrate me. the freshmen always clump up into huge groups in the halls and force everyone to squeeze their way through. i just ram through them. freshmen are stupid.

- ipods. i know it's not apple's fault, but i hate how people always classify an mp3 player as a type of ipod, instead of the other way around. my brother was borrowing my NexIA mp3 player, and one of his stupid sheep friends asks him what kind of music is on his ipod. my brother told him it wasn't one, and his friend said "well, it's white". i want to cave his face in with my knee.

- myspace. wow, someone comes up with the concept to tell people about yourself online and people tear out their sex organs over it. what a revolution. forums and instant messengers have been around forever, with the former revolving around things other than people. like newgrounds and flash, or deviantART and...art. or ebaumsworld and hitler.

- flash. i have a love/hate relationship with flash. i can never finish anything and it frustrates me to no end. oh well.

- dubya. that's a given.

- sony. sony needs to stick to making headphones. everything else sucks.

- AIM. everyone on there is a fucking retard. i try to stay away from AOL altogether, but AIM is like a a pile of dead babies in the "want-to-stay-away-from-it" - o - meter.

- shorthand. on forums and emails, it's unacceptable. you guys have said this, and i'll repeat it here: this isn't a chat room and nobody cares if you don't respond in 5 seconds. even in chat rooms, the extra half-second it takes to type you "you" or decide if it's "your" or "you're" won't make me wonder if you had a heart attack.

One of the best online audio rescources is www.ctgmusic.com All the music is made by small bands or hobbyists, but most of it is of a very professional level. I even got a guy to compose original music for Jinas for me.

Well, I like just about anything, im easy going and get along with just about anyone who is nice, and not a fag to anyone who may not be popular, but tries to be nice to others. Theres only one thing I really hate, actually two things.

One is, I hate chicks who are pretty, and they always get things off guys. I hate scabs all round. The only time its kinda ok to scab is if you need food if you forget any or something, but dont keep bugging them.

The other is, tryhards, nuff said.

Yer, NG fads are annoying I must say. But a big thing in life is fads, pretty much everyone follows a fad or two in there life, there are some people who never really get out of them, and cant choose what they want.
