I don't think Tom is very concerned about keeping the content of FP posts too 'serious', seeing how he uses them himself.

As long as the posts that bumps me down isn't complete spam then I don't care much, you are pretty much guaranteed a good amount of exposure anyway.

Alrite.

So what are frontpage posts? I'm guessing it's a post that Tom makes on the frontpage.
Right?

Yes I'm a genious.

So do I just PM Tom if I want some info on the frontpage post?

That could easily be solved by not allowing you to vote on your own submissions.

Interesting. In Safari go to last.fm find a song you like, go on its page to play it. Look at activity, copy URL and then paste the link somewhere and right-click and select "Download Linked File".
Overcomplicated but still last.fm isn't secure.
Also doesn't always work.

Post in mature portal. No one ever lurks in there. :)

It's impossible for that to be secure, it serves you the data so your computer can run it, they use security by obscurity and it's the only way using Flash embed players, if you can listen to it you can download it, because listening to it is downloading it.

I suppose but you'd think they'd be able to solve the problem someway. I dynamically changing file address which is different for every request. It could easily be worked around but it would make it slightly more difficult and just make it not worth the effort.

I wasted my 3,000th and 4,000th posts purposely, but... Man, that sucks doing it accidentally. Especially your 5k.

Damn. TomFulp was pretty close to programming my game, and he said he can't be distracted by some other projects he has going on. Life goes on.

So I'm back on the hunt for a nice lil programmer.

Told ya mate, I don't want to bash your ambition but don't be so quick to announce your success. First you were talking about a glorious collaboration with tom and that utah guy, now you don't have tom anymore, and for all you know, you might not have utah tomorrow either.

If you come out with a finished game by tom and utah out of the blue without anyone even knowing your name, it would be pretty cool (even though you actually don't program or animate, or am I misunderstanding?). If you announce it the minute you get a PM back from him, but you still manage finishing the project, it's still cool. But guess what. Most chances are that things you start won't be finished. It's just a rule of life. Ask any independent game developer you want - how many games he started, and how many he finished.

Hey, something from Toast I agree with.

He is a respectable person at least 2% time.

My "Flash Stuff" folder is filled to the brim with unfinished projects.

Yeah, same.

I should really get to those, but I always hit a snag, and then move on to the next project.
