Currently I'm watching the fourth season of The Wire thanks to the BBC showing it and getting it's hooks into me (it really is that good of a show). I'm also finishing watching Sons of Anarchy on Bravo, You Have Been Watching on C4 and the second series of Chuck on Virgin1.

TV I'm currently watching.. well You Have Been Watching I suppose but if I include that I have to say Mock The Week too. Psychoville is awesome, a dark sitcom by the makers of the League of Gentlemen. The only US TV show I'm following at the moment is True Blood, which makes me a complete fag according to my friend because vampires are now gay (thanks Twilight :P).

I just got my laptop back, I sent it for repairs (to fix the noisy fan) on Tuesday.. they said 10 days so that's good. They had a list of things they'd fixed and they mentioned that there was "Virus activity" on my computer. I have no idea how they are getting that idea.. my guess is that they think Ubuntu is a virus? :3 Starcraft and Diablo 2 are now in my list of top used applications however, and I'm sure they weren't before I sent the laptop off o_o They also said they "could not replicate the problem", but the fan does seem quieter, maybe they just gave it a quick lube or something. Also I got a new power cable, which is awesome because my old one was fucked and they're £20 :D

We've had 3 laptops in the past 3 years and every one has failed after a few months. I do however need one for college, was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? I know loads about dektop parts but no idea what's best for a laptop.

You Have Been Watching is great. It seems to fail in all but the most basic aspects of production but is still hilarious because of how much of a legend Charlie B is.

Stupid people stealing useless stuff

So at July 29th, I submitted some useless tool thing I worked on for an hour to a website of a friend of mine. It basically links to useful pages on that site, with some user input etc.

Anyways, some fucker decided to steal it and put it on NG. Guess what? It passed.

Mine ended up going in the bin, so my wacoms useless now. I don't think a cable would work, but maybe a small speaker that emits a sound when you press a button on the pad, so you can find the damn thing. I get 100% of the equity btw, if you make this :P.

soo i think im gonna stop flash. i noticed that in general i don't like flash games, they all seemed so rushed and unimaginative. One of the main reasons for that is probably that flash is so easy to use - even 12 year olds can learn basic AS programming and throw out a couple of games. To make real games, you need to learn C++ and know a hell of a lot more about programming, so people who get there actually put effort in their work.

The only game I remember that i really had fun playing for a long time and reminded me of what more games should be like, is, despite its mediocre storyline and general gameplay, Sonny. It's one of those rare games that's not just "throw the ball into the hole" or "stand in this 300x300pixels square and fight off zombies", but it actually has a world around it - a relatively big map, and a long storyline. I remember when I was little and I played Morrowind, the most fun moments was when I was just travelling around the huge island on which you play - exploring the shores and venturing into caves. It was much more exciting than just killing people. That's what flash games lack. In flash games it's ALL about the killing, and it's becoming tiresome. I hate those minigames, and no one is making REAL games in flash.

I think the longest i've played on a game was N, that was a perfect example of great gameplay. I agree though, flash is not the best tool by miles for anything substantial. I'm going to learn C++ over the next few weeks and see what i can come up with that i can develop.

I agree, N is a great game, I had loads of fun playing it. Good luck with C, I see quite a few people around here have been phasing over to C++ and other more serious languages.

As for Radium, I don't really know. I guess I'll just "follow my heart" and finish it if i truly want to, not just because of sponsorship or whatever. It's nice to see that there's someone who cares about it though :p oh yea and my post got cut off in the middle. i just don't feel like game development is for me, whather it's in flash or not. i dont want to make it sound like an emo / attention whore post, it's just something that's been on my mind lately. Of course it doesn't mean I'm leaving the bbs. :)

Gotta agree. I think too much people release their games too early to get some comments, but they are never going to be good if you game sucks.

Ahhh.. I got a new PC, well.. I bought a friends old PC for cheap, but it's ok :3 Anyway.. my TV has a VGA input (like.. all newish TVs I think?) and I thought I'd try it out. I expected it to be kinda blurry and not work as well as a proper monitor, but.. I was wrong. Resolution of 1680x1050 and it's absolutely perfect. I was using a 17" monitor, this is 28".. I think I'll stick with this a while :) Installed Windows 7 too (RC1) because it had Win XP on it and I don't want to pirate an OS so I thought this would be fine, the license doesn't run out til next year anyway.. The OS is pretty nice so far, didn't like the big icons in the taskbar at first but it does make sense now.

I couldn't fit 4 NGs side-by-side, but it's big enough :3

Sounds very sexual Liam (unfortunately the image isnt loading). My sister hooked her laptop up to a 30inch wide screen television with a HDMI cable, I'm truly jealous :P Time to buy myself a new tele and get my Macbook on there.
