I don't see the point in getting the 50.000th post. If you actually do get it, then what? There's no reward, it's not like you're going to go down in history, we're going to forget about it in the next couple pages. You're not going to be remembered forever. Will being the only one with the 50.000th post make you feel special? It's a stupid goal.

You can put it in your sig. It's like getting a trophy.

I also use Chrome. It's mainly the speed that sold it for me, but I also love the design of it too. It has a few flaws, being so early into it's life, but it's a solid browser, prettier than any of the others and faster than both IE and Firefox (never tried Opera or Safari). I don't just mean javascript speed or page loading, just in general.

About the 50,000th post - wow, there have already been several posts commenting on how unimportant it is. I agree, but it goes to show how useless most of those 50,000 posts have been :) Whoever said "I bet there's at least 5 people who will try to get it" - if you meant out of the people that come here regularly, then you obviously don't come here often enough! I don't believe that many of us are that shallow as to care.

when i was younger i was obsessed with yelling first whenever i got it. and if someone else got it but didn't yell first, i nabbed it from them by saying exactly this:

"haha you didn't say first so now i'm gonna say it FIRST!!!!"

i was really being an idiot back then.

Hehe.... I didn't. I'm not THAT new/stupid/non-reg.

I'm off to bed. 23:30 is late enough.

I use Safari. I would use Chrome but for some reason, when I open it and type something in the address bar thing and press enter...Nothing happens. Like for some reason it just doesn't want to go to the website and it just acts like I didn't press enter.

Also, getting the 50,000th post is pointless, but also something I want to do >:)

Talking of Chrome.. has anyone else had it randomly not listen to addresses you enter in the address bar. It'll look like it's loading but it'll never load. But if you click a link on a page it'll load perfectly. I've had to restart a few times 'cause of that. But I do love the interface which is the thing that sells it to me more than the speed. More programs should adopt the simple interface, I HATE having loads of clutter with buttons I never use as I just use short cuts instead.

Animation. It's a slow process on its own... and the more ya seem to put into it the slower the process takes.
But is trading time for better quality the only way to archieve better quality? No. Their must me other ways, different ways, worse ways, and better ways. However running the extra lap and bein' chill with it... takin' your time and makin' it look real nice - that seems to be the best option I've been abusing lately.

So much time though. The remake of DudersEp2 is is goin' to take twice as long to make. I miss makin' shorts, but shorts would make more sense with the episodes and story out there.

Work, work, work... wait... can't work. Fuck. I got a bunch of bottles to take in to the depo, then liquer to buy, and then poeple to chill with, then work, then sleep, then more work. Yes.. work... work...
Ya gotta work more poeple! WORK!

Animating crazy - it sinks in after a while.

There's been a couple blog posts using the 40th moon landing anniversary to look back on recent progress of civilization and conclude that people are degrading/in futureshock and whatnot. What's up with that?

Totally in futureshock here. 2000 is still the future to me. Freaks me out that I can have conversations with people with people who are younger than my NG account. Still can't fathom how I lived life with out internets and mobiles.

FUCKING NEW COMPUTER

Building 2 identical systems except for mine, which has a phenom II x2, instead of an athlon x2.

the one with the x2 works, even swapping it directly into my system, even after updating the BIOS on motherboard so that it explicitly supports my cpu, still doesn't work and is going to have to be sent back.

If its the Phenom 920/940 then they are awesome, if its an tri-core than it's gonna be slugish. The new quads are awesome though, on par with the i7 and about £200 less expensive.

At 7/21/09 06:00 AM, Toast wrote: next time get intel :p

The i7 is barely quicker than the new AMD quads, not £200 quicker anyway.

I don't feel like we are living in the future, but i'm afraid of what the future could bring. We've had what, 4 incidents where nuclear war could have broken out in just the past 50 years, god knows how humans are gonna survive for another 1000.

But still, lots of new tech to keep me busy :3.

That's the thing, you'd think that with the state of technology now compared to that used to land on the moon we could've colonized it by now. But we're busy (in terms of US budget) destroying countries to support the American lifestyle (and 7l engines).
