okay my mom's being an idiot right now.
basically what happened was last week i skipped out on a karate session because i didn't feel like it. my mom said it was okay, but i was going to the karate session next week.
about the day before all my japanese projects were due, i found a bunch of worksheets that hadn't been finished yet, and were crucial to me passing the class. if i didn't finish them, i would fail, and i had no prior knowledge of them beforehand.
but my mom said that i was going to karate. so i said OK, i'll go to karate. then, as my mom was out driving my sister to the driving school, i grabbed my backpack, left a note, and left to my friend marcus' house to finish my worksheets.
over the night i worked hard, and finished the worksheets, and the next day i was able to hand them in, and i was given a chance to pass the class. if i hadn't gone to marcus' and i'd gone to karate, i would've failed the class.
so then when i finally get home from marcus' the night of the incident, my mom accepts that i did the right thing and doesn't punish me. things were good.
then all of a sudden today i had a bit of garbage around my desk. my mom told me to get it off my desk, and said that "it's not happening again." when i asked her what that meant, she said that i'm not leaving garbage around my desk for two weeks. i told i've never done that, she said well now you have to get rid of it an hour after. i told her she's over-reacting a little bit and she asked me why. i told her that she thinks i would actually leave garbage by my desk for two weeks, and she said she never said anything about two weeks. i told her that she did, and then all of a sudden:
"you're grounded"
"what, why?"
"for going against me"
"when?"
"when you ran away, you should've gone to karate"
"but if i hadn't gone, i would've failed!"
"so? you made a commitment. i saw you playing video games before that, so you should've been doing your homework."
"but i didn't know that i had that homework until i picked up my notebook to study!"
"doesn't matter, you should've gone."
it went on for a bit like this, and then i won. that's when she changed her reasoning.
"i don't mind if you skip out on karate if you're doing homework, but the week before that you should have gone to karate."
"wait what? before you were angry at me for this week, and now you're angry about last week?"
"you should focus more on education then video games."
"but i was working. when i play video games, it means that i'm done."
"i'm not arguing about this any more. i'm going out to get coffee."
she backed out so that way she wouldn't lose again. while she's gone i unplugged her computer mouse just slightly so that way it looks plugged in.
