Brainwash Studios has been released! That's right, it's shipped up, and shipped out, and looking darn right spiffy. So why don't you grab some popcorn, head over to Brainwash Studios, and enjoy some toons! Who knows, you could get lucky at Brainwash Studios...

WHERE?
I've been working away at flash today. Finished one of my two games for this month, it'll be going up at the begining of December. The other is comming along nicely, its a 3D flying game with guns and explosions and Blue Rabbit :P Also been working on a portfolio site, now that I've gotten some proper hosting for our main site, and thats looking snazzy too.

yeah to acquire that status you have to make 2000 posts about the Wii vs the PS3

umm....considering that i replyed to your post means that i didn't ignore it, does it not? i honestly would try to help if i knew what you wanted....
luis, out of sheer boredom, i watched the rest of your tutorials on your site.
i find it really interesting to see how other animators organize their stuff. like in your animating for games tutorial, with Nene. i thought it was weird that you didn't use layers to draw her (meaning, you appeared to draw her on one layer). but it's also your liberal use of graphics and, of course, the master mask. i don't think that's too great of a technique, even if you don't like stuff outside of the stage showing. if you want a mask that is under one element, but on top of another, what would you do? make a graphic/movieclip for it? personally, i hate making symbols out of things i won't use more than once. i also don't like to have an insane amount of stuff outside my stage, so i just keep it there for reference until i need it, and then i delete the parts where i don't use it. also, if i have a huge background or something, i make a guide layer that's just an outline of the stage so i can see where the boundaries are. i'm not sure if you know about guide layers, but i'll just assume you do.
which brings me to the question i was meaning to ask you: do you primarily draw with a tablet, or with a mouse? and if you use a tablet, what kind?
also, i'm not sure if you know about this, but Skaijo didn't know, so maybe it's more obscure than i thought.
in the corner of your timeline, above the scrollbar and under the zoom thing is a little button. if you click that, you can choose how big each frame is, or even if you want a preview of the frame on the timeline, but most importantly is "Short", which cuts your layers' sizes in half, allowing you to see more layers on-screen. i've animated with over 30 layers once, so cutting their size in half really helped me, because i was getting sick of scrolling all about, looking for a layer.
wow, this was quite a post. O_o
Mmm, I got the IP of the guy that hacked my account (I think).
Now tracert is only bringing up that he's at my university... and pings are blocked here so I can't find out his computer name >:(

You obviously didnt view all his tutorials because one of them is called "drawing with a mouse" and explains that he only ever uses the mouse.
He is like the best argument against tablets available.
I suspect he knows the other bits you mentioned but there are maybe some here who didnt so you might help someone out.

Well i use a mouse. I think anyone who sees me post or knows anything about me probably knows that.
About the masking thing, its just a bad habit i picked up and i just do it because thats what I'm used to and the only reason i made a tutorial was because people always ask me why i never have things bleed out.
On occasions I need to mask something specific i'll just set it outside the master mask, i dont usually like to use masking unless it will seriously save me time.
The only time the master mask really becomes problematic is when one is trying to get the most out of the V-Cam because the mask interferres with the vcams ability to wander beyond the boundaries of my mask. Im not much of a v-cammer anyway so it never bothered me.
I also like to fbf all on one layer, to me its more practical and i dont like to have a depot full of limbs and shit to recycle because to me i find that it looks too mechanical. Ive seen tutorials where they ask you to draw all your limbs in advance and what not but i hate that, because things start looking the same.
Anyway i think thats all your questions.. if not find me on msn.

That's a fair point. When I'm drawing stuff for my games, I generally have arms and legs in different layers, though, purely because there's no point in totally redoing a walk or run cycle when half of the components for it have already been drawn. I also tend to double up frames for different objects - the head and body are on 2 - 4 - 6 - 8... and the feet and arms on 1 - 3 - 5 - 7... Don't ask why; it just seemed like a good idea at the time.
Hey luis your site needs sorting out. If you go on an animation there are no menu buttons so your forced to use the back button. Which is always a pain.
Also the capital letters in each new paragraph overlap all the other writing.

Oh dear, our precious thread. Now toast has come.
Impending riot blog.
I just read it. I feel alot like you didn't actually make a pojnt. I just feel like, yeah, ok, so what's your point. I'm not gunna go into it or argue my point or put you down because I don't want to (and you don't deserve it). You sound like you know what you're talking about, have you studied animation or something? I see you said that in the article, but what specifically, what's it like, did you learn much.
This is from my point of view which you could say is amature or whatever, but I don't think you hit the nail on the head, yes tweenings bad in a sense, but simple steps like that are (from what I see in the main stream) typically used now for 3d animation, so it's all coming alot easier with technology, which I guess was actually your point.
Anyone here seen 21 grams? Watched it in college today, or the most of it besides the last 15 minutes or so. I liked it. We were watching is specifically to note the non linear narrative. I really like the concept and from what i've seen so far how it's been pulled off.. serves well. You'll see a scene, think 'What?' see the next scene, think 'Oh ok', See the next scene, think 'What'.
Animal house is on Film 4 right now for anyone intrested.
Oh yeah yeah I know what you mean. I was thinking about that on the bus earlier. I've spent alot of time working my way up from Paint to flash for the past few years, and i've always drawn on paper. I don't mean that to act as "That's my alibi what's yours", I think that some people here are more nerds who have stumbled upon flash as something they find intresting.
One thing you all gotta stop doing is being so critical at people using paint and straight off telling people to get flash. Let them work there way up and find it themselves, if they're gunna find flash they'll find it regardless of you jumping them there. I think i'm the same about tutorials too, I never look at tutorials to learn the basics.
Actually i'm being a bit critical there, with AS it's probably different.
I was under the impression you were something like 23 ImpendingRiot.
