Sweet jesus it's over! It was one of the best April 1st as far as I'm concerned, but it made me realize how addicted I am to the BBS...

The total layout redesign (kinda) was very epic, they must have put a lot of work into it D= I missed the BBS but it was a very good April fools :) (Or should I say "China Rules"?)

I even wasted a few hours making a crappy China flash :D

that was fun. thanks to all for making flashes and joining in on the sillyness.

What i found was funny was the horde of general forum people just sittin there in the forums all day waiting for it to be reopenned. I once thought that closing that forum would yield more productive people but no, they just sat there waiting at the door.
Prior to turning on (or off, i suppose) the switch I was telling tom that this could be really interesting, being that general forumz cant post maybe the portal will be really alive much like the shape flash craze but no, they just sat there waiting all day.

I guess i have too lofty of expectations.

At any rate, it was fun going through the site and seeing how the filters affected things. China sketchbook tour and other sillyness.

I'm working on an effect for a DJ friend of mine, it's supposed to be "ravey" so i've tried a few things and this is the best so far. Any C&C is awesome, i don't think it needs a whole new thread.

I dig it. Nice job. Plus, nearly anything with Daft Punk as the soundtrack is solid in my mind. Can't get enough of them.

Also, the April Fools joke was supreme. Looking around the site it was amazing how many nearly unnoticeable things were changed to make it all look brilliant. They did a fantastic job with it. Everything to the little smiley faces having asian eyes...amazing.

Being blocked from the bbs really did make me realize how much I come here to see what people are posting. All in all I think it was an awesome april fools prank thing. I liked how complete it was. Google failed hard imo. The youtube change was a little funny, but that cadie ai thing didn't seem funny at all to me... maybe I'm too critical.

Word on the street is youtube is changing their layout to be more like hulu, having sections for movies and tv shows. It's nice to know newgrounds is always going to be about the users.
