I have two, and one of them has cancer. :[
Dogs freaking shit everywhere.
what
I love cats but im allergic to them, and my dog can be fucking annoying sometimes.
Little Big Planet thingie
I dont have the game. BUT I had an interesting idea.. well maybe... of being able to take shells of the levels that people made and translate them into flash... i dunno im still thinking about it as i type but one of the biggest hurdles i've always had with games is that i hate the process of creating the level layout.. its something that ive never found that interesting / nor been good at... i figure with lbp it streamlines it enough so that you can atleast lay things out to a point where a visual person could 'see' your vision.. i dunno im intruiged by the challenge of it.... obviously some of its 3d elements might be too much effort to be worth the trouble but rather than be bogged down by that i'd be interested in talking to people who have that game or are fairly competent at coding little platformers to see how feasible it actually might be. ok thats all.

It's a great idea, but it'd be quite a beast to code. Firstly you'd have to write a solid engine that could handle all the hundreds of things that would be thrown at it, and be able to export them as some readable values so they could be shared. And then to share them you'd need to be able to send/receive the data from a server and reload it as an level.
The 3d wouldn't be too hard to do, you could just work on perspectives rather than an actual 3d engine. It'd definitely be possible, but it wouldn't be a quick project by any means.

Oh i didnt mean to share share.. i just meant it would be refreshing for me to say okay this is the level we are going to try and make in flash and lets make it... not so much lets make an engine that people can customize and make their own stuff with. One of the things that failed in the past ff collabs was that there was no clear vision.. i figure if we had this level we wanted to make we could atleast have a clear sight of the objective and it wouldnt stall everyone on figuring out what we could do but rather how we can do whats in front of us. It seems more logical to have a problem in front of you and trying figure out how to solve it as opposed to trying to think of the problem so that then you can try and solve it. Dunno if that makes sense.

I'm not really sure what you mean by taking shells of the levels =o
Also; cats are awesome but dogs are 3x as awesome. Fuck all of you dog haters. (nicely).

Custom Enourmous Epic Explosion TF2 Map
A friend is working on a map for tf2, with a rather large rocket explosion at the end. If you like explosions, take a look at the vid and leave a comment if you can. If you have tf2, it'll probably be released within 2 weeks, and valve have already shown interest in including it with tf2.

No. I dont want to make a lbp game in flash. Thats exactly what i DONT want to do. I simply was saying that i wanted to use lbp's capabilities of creating your own levels to design something fun to try and adapt into a flash environment. I do not want the lbp game in flash nor do i want the chars, or props or whatever.. i was just using its capabilities to suggest a level layout that we could tinker with.. it makes life easier to see a level on a youtube and say okay lets build that in flash(within reason). So we start taking apart its components etc. I repeat im not trying to build lbp the game.

No no no no no! What he wants to so, see, is take the game Little Big Planet, you know that one? Right, so he want's to make that, but in Flash. Simple really.
I'll text Stephen Fry later, see if he's up for it
Tom-
Hey guys I just heard some rumors that Luis is making a flash littlebigplanet game, read about it on kotaku, jayisgames, joystiq, the new york times, destructoid, cnn, nbc, fox, gonintendo, sony.com, etc.

Seriously though I do agree. I hate designing levels too, I want to spend my time making things look nice, not figuring out if the level is fun to play and doing endless level plans and sketches to make it all fit together well.
Theres literally 1000's of really well designed levels out there, I dont see anything wrong with borrowing some ideas :)
