Even crysis runs faster than your flash lol. Btw apparently in the future, Adobe programs will make more use of the graphics card instead of the processor. That means extremely high performance and more options to people who make 3D games in flash.
by that time I won't be using flash anymore and will just be doing all this stuff in c++ anyway... it sucks that I hit the wall for CS4 a month after it came out...

Brilliant engine.. but I average 20 fps, not smooth at all. Is that pixelblender or.. what? Whatever it is, if you can speed it up then it'll be an awesome game.
I am working on making it smoother. Its not supposed to be a fast paced game but I still don't like the lag (even though I got it to a point where my computer runs it fast).
It is pixel bender, and the blend mode is not only used to make the graphics like that but also to make the collision map. I'm probably going to go through and time individual actions to see what's causing the lag but for now I have to write an essay. After I'm done doing this game in flash I think I'm going to concentrate on learning openGL. Flash is nice but like I'm hitting its limits really early on. Wanna know why that 3D game didn't do too well? It tried to pass the limits of flash. It's a well programmed game, but flash doesn't make it fun.
It sucks that I have to make sacrifices to the game to make it fun. Anyway sacrifice number 1 is to avoid making levels with all those lights. I'll put directional lights to better use I guess when I get them programmed. And I'll make sure to offer a download version. Maybe make the browser version a smaller resolution so it runs faster. Dunno, I got a lot of work ahead of me.
