So yeah. whenever you ask someone on the street if he knows a processor, 95% will say intel, but apparently AMD is currently more efficient. especially for gaming.
My brother fully supports AMD (he sells computers, and doesn't sell any intel) so i wondered why, he showed me a presentation, that showed the following:
AMD processors (at least those witha dual core) have two buses between the cores, for in and out of each core respectively. And Another two bus' on each core for in and out from other places, not to exchange data between cores.
In change, Intel processors (and probably all other brands) only have one bus between cores, and one bus extra for each core. That means that if a core wants to send information to the other core, but it is receiving information, it has to wait til the information receiving has finished, then it can send. Same goes for the in out of the core itself to the computer.
Also, the main pro about Intel against AMD is that since Intel is a really huge company, their cooling systems are way over AMD's. So, As a rule of thumb, NEVER overclock and AMD processor. :D
Altough if you overclock Intel, you can pretty much match AMD.
