Dude, that is the worst background I've ever seen! How do you manage to click on things with all those loud, contrasting colours going on?

The Olympics are actually really boring if you think about it, its only cool if you're into one of the events(like if you do track or something) or if you have a certain athlete to cheer for. I mean, the Olympics are fun and exciting if you're there or watching it on TV for the first time, but it gets stale, especially seeing as its the same stuff every year.
Well holy shit. who's watching the opening ceremony?
The Winter Olympics are where it's at. They're like having one of those relaxing screensavers on TV, only all the time.

UoTD is random, you just need at least 10 posts. Also, Paranoia said about cherry/brandy. What a mistake make! =P
Olympics
I saw a bit of the opening ceremony. I saw this absolutely stunning woman that game out with the Uruguayans. I don't think she was an athlete (even though see was massively fit) so I'll never be able to find her name.
Happy Birthday DreamworX

Oh right it's him X( So that explains what happened to everyone... they changed their names >X(
My dad just came up with a pretty good idea on capitalizing on flash games.
Imagine a website which (initially) had a list of say, 6 different games. These games would be designed to be sent out in company/business newletters, seasonal greetings, christmas emails etc. They would also be designed to be customizable, and each game would have a list of customizable options to make them more unique and fun for the company.
So, for example (this is just coming off the top of my head, I havent really thought about games ideas yet) you could have a game where the basic aim is to defend your office. The game could have customizable signs which could be changed to the companys name, the characters could be designed to look like actual employees of the companys, enemies could even be changed to look like rivals of the company or something.
I just think its a cool idea, im sure there would be loads of companys willing to spend a couple of hundred pounds on a fun game to send out to employees which was totally customized to suit their needs/corporate identity/humour or whatever. Once the game templates are made, it wouldnt be a huge amount of work to change the customizable options. You could have different levels of customization so the more unique things to the company, the higher the price.
its just an idea at the moment, what do you guys think? Does anyone know of a service like this which already exists?
if luis or someone comes out with a site like this in a few months.... I WILL FIGHT YOU!

RE: J1mp's good idea
Wow, thats a great idea. I don't know how exactly you would let them be extremely customizable unless if the offices KNOW how to use flash, but besides that.
Fucking sweet idea. If you need any help w/ arrays (for w/e reason I'm really good w/ those) give me a holler, or anything else logical that isn't trig based
PS: Anyone know a good source to understand trig w/ flash easily? (I haven't tried AS : Main yet, though I probably should
PPS: Sry for the double post, I liked his idea alot though (<3 to zeh mods on a not ban =D)
At 8/9/08 10:52 AM, DawnOfDusk wrote: Wow, thats a great idea.
Well the idea is that they choose what they want to be customized, probably through a form or email (it would be nice to be in actual contact with each client) and they we make thier game for them. So for example, say they wanted all the characters to wear a certain uniform, they would send a picture of the uniform and then it would be drawn in the necessary style and then implemented into the game they chose, that particular thing would just be a case of changing some movieclips.
There would be a fully completed version of each game on the site, and then a list of things which can be customized. If I were to actually go ahead with this I would need to sit down and think of a load of original ideas of things that could be changed to make it worthwhile for the companys. it would have be more than just changing uniforms and the name of the company to be able to charge a decent amount for a game.
You might wanna grab a patton (or however you spell) it on something similar to that, although the copyright would be really weak. Due to the fact that it's a flash game.
J1mp thats a great idea. I'm sure that if you emailed a couple companies they would buy a game for their employees. I unfortunately can't help you, but I still expect half the profit.

Olympics
I watched the opening, but that's probably all I'm going to watch. They should have AS: Wars in it.

The opening was really good, but the rest of the olympics is just so boring...
And as wars in the olympics would be awesome :0

with as much sympathy for bernie as possible, I hope that this doesnt turn into another Steve Irvin where everyone gets a free passing flash and fills up the portal with "tribute movies"

Steve Irwin (God rest his Aussie bones) was the balls though. The old Amber Nectar was flowing the day Irwin died, believe you me. Bernie Mac wasn't as popular world wide as the Croc Hunter. Crikey!

yeah, nothing wrong with the croc hunter, but too many people are willing to take a free ride to get a passing flash
I went on an adventure last night, forget some bits, had some hurt, had one of those rare perfect moments, realized how much I love my friends.
E contact highs are not a myth BTW.

hehe damn you disclaimer... i think its a good idea, there was some moderate success by this one small studio that did the dancing/striptease/etc interactive flash greeting cards... im sure you saw them last year.. they were the ones where you upload a jpg of your face and then the flash movie embeds it into a premade clip of a dancing person with your face on it.... the movie Elf bought a slice of it... then there was some other variations that were also sub contracted. It eventually died out... i think if you can stay fresh and relevant it might be lucrative...
None

Same, I remember the face, and forgot the name (don't watch movies much, my bad.) and some guy got on me about it, I told him to f*ck off
On a side note, I'm nearly finished w/ my main menu for a game I'm working on, I don't wanna show the game engine yet (I'll probably put it on FGL or sumtin, but w/e)
Link below.
Use Arrow Keys, (Or W,A,S,D Keys) to Navigate, execute w/ space.
I really want to know how hard it is for you to read the text on a scale from 1-10, I will change the text (probably by either bringing the green overlay to a very low alpha, or bring the text above it and make it a dark green, probably a combination of both.)
