Its probably not going to as much because, as I said in my last post, video games are based around gameplay and the video game characters. Not so much the people behind them.

In movies, they are based around the acting and dialog. Also they hire recognizable actors to do many different parts.

Devs get very little indeed. The majority of the profit made from video games are made by the producers and retailers. Its a sad state of affairs and it has driven many independant pursuits some successful, some not so. At the end of the day however, the big corps will always have the industry wrapped round their little finger. Thats just the way it is I guess.

I finally start to use the generous site package hostsquid sold me ages ago, and the minute I think about backing up the editted Wordpress theme I've been building and refining slowly, his server explodes. And judging by the message on his hosting page, it sounds like it was a literal explosion...

No content lost, but jeez, it took me ages to get it looking the way I wanted... and now I can't work on it until he gets a new server sorted out, or I get the domain transfered.

I spoke to him earlier and he said he needs to find a new server as it was apparently taken offline due to someone hosting illegal content. He said hes trying to get a new one and will get it up as soon as possible.

I've been watching some portal submissions, and reading the comments, and seriously, this place has become too well known.

It's disgusting to see people with the usernames "soccergurl994038" review one of the movies like its a fucking youtube video. Actual review I read:

"This is great, awesome song and its cool that you put a video with it too. Plus it was long, I appreciate that".

Just because it's common to put a song with a still image on youtube and call that a video, doesn't make it normal anywhere else. This is a site where you submit MOVIES, and GAMES. These people are dumbfounded at how much work people actually do here.

Not to mention that these newcomers vote like Youtube as well. They just watch a movie, and either hit 5, or 0. They're blind to the 1,2,3 and 4. And since they're so used to watching dumb fucking shit on dumb fucking sites, when they see the quality work that real artists submit here, they automatically vote 5. I'm not saying that the artists don't deserve that for their time, but I remember when getting a movie with a score of a 3 actually took some sweat.

Now you can just post any old thing and are basically assured it's gonna be on this site forever. Hopefully I'm not the only one noticing that submission scores are at an all time high, with scores like 4.60 on the top scoring of all time. 4.60. That's almost a perfect 5. If the trend continues, someone will actually get a 5/5. What'll happen then?

Just seems like this site is becoming too commercial, and it's none of our faults, and it's none of the staffs faults, it's noones fault. It's just that all these kids are finding out that they can find shit that actually entertains them here, and so theyre flocking like geese.

Lets just hope they're too dumb to notice the big ass forum button on the nav.

I remember how hard it was to get my first flash on here. Now I could probably post a still picture of hitler, and have it say heil and it would pass. (random exmaple.) I hate to say it the portal pretty much serves no purpose. Everything that goes through passes, so not much of a point.

That has always happened, but right now its just out of hand. There was always a bunch of kids on this site because youtube didn't fit them or whatever. I think that people should start ruling harder on the 13+ rule, and anyone who isn't mature enough can leave.
