Hate to be a jerk, Artist Formerly Known As DreamworX, but the main conversation about your name change seemed to be going down in here. Not sure if t'was your intention, but there wasn't much need for another topic altogether.
Yes, many already knew about it before I made the thread, and yes I've also made a news post about it and I have it in my sig. Not everybody keeps up to date with the reg lounge though, and everybody sure don't read my news posts. I've made almost 3,000 posts, most of which were made to help out people here in the Flash forum, excuse me for believing that I deserve some recognition by them who I continuously help and who doesn't go to the reg lounge.
I do think that I have a pretty clear idea of what lies behind this though (please correct me if I'm wrong):
You consider me to be an egocentric jerk for trying to get the word around that I have changed my username, and therefore you get a kick out of deleting my thread.
I would definitely have accepted a lock, no problems, the practical difference between locking and deleting a thread may not be very big, but the symbolic is however so much bigger. Considering the amount of utterly bad threads that is created in here daily I am very surprised that my thread is one of the very few that gets deleted completely. You say you hate being a jerk, my guess is that it's the exact opposite.
Now, I'm very aware that this might make me sound even more egocentric, ranting because of a deleted thread, but I don't care about the thread per se.. What I'm trying to say is rather: I had higher thoughts of the mods, at least in the Flash forum.
I've never been banned from the forums, if you want the honor of giving me my first then go ahead. Just be coherent.
