Sign up close as soon as august takes over july. Meaning, you cannot longer submit songs to the audio portal in july (duh), wich is the month songs must be submited to. No sign ups will be accepted in this thread when august starts either, even if the song is actually submitted in july. You´ll have to post your submission in this thread when it´s still july.
When july is over, I will gather all songs. Depending on how many they are, i will give directions to everyone who will judge via PM. I will give the judges a couple of days to complete their tasks. I am thinking about 3-5 days. This means we´ll have the final scores in the first week of august.

I will, depending on the cover/remix´s nature incourage the judges that they think extra when it comes to this. The reason for this is because original work should be encouraged, basicly it has been said in this thread, and therefore covers/remixes wont be encouraged on this "first" MAC.
As it looks like at the moment, I will not judge myself, so what the judges will decide is up to them. I will give them basic guidlines to follow tho. How basic judging will be you can find out in the first post :)
Ok. I agree with that judgement and it seems totally fair... however I'd rather submit an original piece so... erm... i better get to work on something good! >_<
Oh... and i'm not saying all of my current pieces are covers -_-
They arn't... only one is (which I sadly like the best).
I just want to try to make a really, really, good original piece... because my current ones arn't contest-stature.
Ya... >_>

you're not submitting the frolics one? I like that one!
Ok, because Love_hate war is a bitch, I'll submit Wheatfield Frolics instead. Can;t be bothered to make a new linj.

DavidOrr was nice enough to voulenteered with some webspace, but this "first" contest will stay basic and simple.
It wouldnt be fair if you got to exceed the 4meg limit... Actually, that´s about one of the few rules this contest have :) Can´t you cut down the length of the song or so?
Sorry man :(
That's okay, I respect your decision to keep things simple. The judges will just have to imagine hi-fi for parts in the song such as 1:15 and 1:51

Hurray! I win!

I don't know Grumleduke, I think Dryad Whispers would have a better standing, but thats just my own opinion, I really enjoyed Dryad.
Gah, I was rip-roaring drunk about 2 hours ago, I stand by original decision of Dryad Whispers. With that, I'm getting to bed. Now.

Good night good sir.
-OCON- - Crying for Love (Remix)
(i would like that even though you seem to be friend with Chaoz_of_Yakuza, and have a fully legal song here, still it would be nice for the record if you could get him to agree that you submit this remix to the contest. I´m not going to stop you, since you´ve used own samples+synths, but just for the record :)
Will do man

As long as you have a song on the portal that was submitted in July. Assuming it's not stolen.
What if it's still going through verification or w/e that is? That's why I asked.
Yes, because the judges can still listen to your track without downloading,
Who are the judges and how are they going to judge the songs? Are they just going to review it? or post comments on judgiung the songs on here? (Something I thought of today)

I'll take points off. Here use my
I dont think i can win, but Im going to try.
Well I think judges should comment on the song, leave a brief overview of their total points on here, so averages can be more easily determined.
I'm also wondering who the judges are, I volunteered already, just curious to see how many others.

I was curious about who the judges were as well

good luck man ^^
Since I haven´t decided who are to judge yet, noone really knows :)
I will send out a PM to everyone who have voulenteered later this week, most likley before the weekend.
The ones who will actually judge will help deciding if they themselves wants to write commentary of the songs they judge. To keep the contest simple I mentioned in the judging part of the first post that there will be no commentary, only a score from 0-10, but if all judges tink it´s cool with making a commentary and motivation of their score, I´ll support that of course!
The reason the "score only" system was just to make things easy, so no judge would go "aww i dont wanna judge when you have to write stuff..." :)
And why I want to keep things easy is to actually make this contest happen, so it won´t just disapear in the big abyss of "contest attempts...". Also, making things more advanced from the start has a greater risk of having alot of errors, wich would be a disturbance a new contest concept would suffer from having, no doubt!
But like i said, juding will be up to the judges. I will make a few suggestions and guidlines, and the judges will be helping out deciding how far they want to take the judging, and how much work they want to spend.
