My ideas...

1) Make the voting system less important in the score. Make it go up the charts by unique listens and downloads as well, with only one from one IP address counted. In other words if someone listens to the whole song they probably liked it. If not, it doesn't count.

2) Songs should have to work their way up the chart and not start at the top and get voted down. Just like in real life. Maybe make voting more of a cumulative effect. If somebody votes zero or a one then they haven't done as much damage.

3) Make it so we can see how many votes it gets and what the votes are in a graph... Not who voted but what the vote was.

3) Add catogories for Production. Performance and Creativity. The other ones are too hard to rate.

4) Make the A-bot charts go by number of votes as well. If a song has 50, three votes it's probably better than a song that has 1, five vote. This would probably make poeple submit earlier in the week so that they could get more votes..

4) Ability to delete songs or change them

but the thing about the scores and whatnot, only being viewable by the author is not quite gonna work, I feel.

as there will need to be some kind of chart for the flash artists to find what they like. so the zerovoters will still know who to downvote, so they can get there tracks higher in the charts

Yah, I think the biggest thing now is the little flash banner in the AP.

I think the Audio portal needs a COMPLETE upgrade! More genres, a better layout, a better banner, everything! Lets have everything updated, so people dont look down on us anymore!

I think audio portal should be less strict on submitting audio files because every thing i try doesnt work and ive downloaded so much crap 2 getit to work but it doesnt

I would kinda like a thing that alerts you whenever an artist you like uploads a song, because I have alotta favorites, but they don't have a way to announce their new songs to everyone very well.

Wow a lot of great suggestions there! I think there should be a Favourite Music Content and Favourite Music Artists in people's profiles just like the flash ones. Music deserves no less! Anyway I think there should also be an option in your profile "People who liked you audio submissions" and "People who like YOU as a music maker" you know what I mean. Maybe make it have a judgement system just like the flash portal does? Daily top 5 and all that. And daily awards. And make people only rate the audio if ONLY they review it. Because if someone doesn't give a good reason for 0'ing them they can get banned. You know. Easier to catch those who just 0 and people will get more reviews too

No you can't, but you can offer some incentives, like experience points!

How about every user gets access to his/hers OWN playlist, wich is based of what songs you put in a favourite audio list, wich is part of the profile?! That way you can show fav. audios in the profile as well...

A little tiny "stream" box should appear on the list so that users can simply click the box on the list and have the ability to hear what the song is all about without having to go into the users audiopage. If they feel like the song is worthy of a download and review, they'll go at it! I for one don't want to bother going into every page on the list to hear the track and then decide to review or not, having the choice of hearing before jumping to another link would be a great way to allow authors as well as listeners to try out new genres without having to go out of their way to get it.

I put this in another thread, but I think that one each genre page, a randomly selected song with a "now playing - xxxxxxxx" thing would be pretty good. It might expose some of the lesser-known artists, too. Everybody knows PX9 because of the front page thing, so I think that would work for other people too.

they should have voting power based on how long you've been a submitter. but it shouldn't be as high. the scale should be like this

1.00 - standard vote for AP
between 0 and 5 submissions ,+1%
5-10, +2%
10-20, +5%
30-50, +8%
50+, +10%

that way, they aren't that much bigger. and they should make it so that IP addresses can DL a song max of 3 times a day, so then that way, no one can spam. They should have a set of judges pick their weekly favorites and weekly turds as well.

for every gold +0.5%
for every platinum +1%
for every 2x Platinum +2%
for every diamond +5%
max of +50%

and maybe reviews too.
for every 100 you have, you get +1% with a max of 5%

this way, the people who do well get a bit extra, but not enough to damage the AP. they should also make it so that if you vote, you have to listen a set amount of it first, in order to stop spammers.
I think its pretty fair. the max is 1.65 voting power, which isnt even that much of an increase, but enough to have the AP artists have a little say in the AP.

Everyone could agree on that I'm sure, I always thought there should be an IP tracker for downloading songs, so that people don't cheat their gold. But for ISPs such as mine, more than one person has the same IP due to a proxy on the ISP side. I have satellite and sometimes I'm not allowed on an IRC chat because of the fact that someone else is already on with the same IP as me. That may be why they don't do that.

I would like it if you can fix stuff in your discription on your song and the tytle. Also, there should be a thing under the number of downloads you have, that is like having 100/ 150 listens in total of today. You know what I mean?

I dont really like the vote 5-0 thing, so maybe the number of reviews you get, the higher you would be in the audio page. Also, maybe there should be a top 1 thing for every genre. For example. (something) - (song). on the top 1 of the genre in a seperate box. I think that would be a GREAT Idea cuase its kinda hard to get into the top 5 every week =C

I don't mean to advertise or anything, but one thing I like about Mp3Unsigned.com is the ability to see what artists recommend you, and who you recommend. If you go here: http://www.mp3unsigned.com/Showband.asp?id=28 3 and scroll too the bottom, you can see what I mean. A feature like that would be really cool.

You should be allowed to submit songs larger than 4000 kb since the Audio Portal is mainly occupied by music artists, and they don´t like loops, they want the full stuff!
So it´s damn annoying when I FUCKING CAN´T SUBMIT STUFF WITHOUT MANIACLY LOWERING THE QUALITY AND SHORTENING IT TO THE LIMITS INCLUDED PROGRAMS STUPID AS FUCK .
