First of all, this isn't "all other forum software." Second of all, there are no queries that retrieve the information in the top right hand side of the pages. I'd like to be able to respond to the reviews for my submissions before they pass, like you used to be able to. Due to the fact that now it links to the review page rather than a seperate responding page, I can't see the reviews until it passes. And I get the usual message you get when trying to read an under judgement submission's reviews -

"Thanks for attempting to read the reviews for this submission!

The submission these reviews belong to is still "Under Judgment."

You will have to wait until it has passed judgment before you can access the reviews."

The fact that now you have to wait for the submission to pass to read the reviews means that users who get their movies blammed won't be able to read the reviews that their submission got at all. Unless they realise that they can check the obituaries. Which a large number won't...

Hopefully that law won't be passed, I hope people think with something else than their pockets.

Ok... You guys don't like the idea of zealotic control of the net...

I can get that, but I figured you, of all net communities, would be able to see the problems by enforcing 'net neutrality'.

In short, say good bye to high speed connections. Why, you may ask? You are paying for a faster access of the net. Under net neutrality, anyone using a cable connection, DSL, dial up accelerated connection is screwed over because it isn't offered to everyone at the exact same price.

How many people realize that if net neutrality is enforced that the network of servers we use to enter and exit newgrounds may not be able to accomdate the number of people visiting everyday, becuase not every web site has that type of server.

The people writing this bill are intent on tying the hands of Tom, Wade and pratically anyone else with programming moxy to make a hair-brained scheme work. (i.e: The Portal) They do not care for future technologies being introduced or any new programs written. To be frank, the dumbasses in congress see the Internet as it is now, as the New Coke; it will be around forever.

The sad part is that this incarnation of the Internet will need to evolve into something more in the near future, technology demands such an action. Net neutrality gets in the way of this because it forces everyone to play with the same deflated kick ball.

Net Neurtality is just another term for fencing in start up companies from the market and putting an end to new connections speeds and multi media.

To put it simply: newgrounds wouldn't be here if net neutrality was enforced in 1996.

Question, I like to look at the reveiws when my movies are under judgement, if the button for 'respond to reveiws' link to the read reveiws page, and if a movie is under judgement you get this:

I have a problem with the new review responce system. I can't respond while my flash is stull under judgement. I know it's not a big deal, but it does annoy me slightly.

Hmm... for the PM system, I have a minor suggestion. Up at the top right, where people can see their various options (Account Options, Inbox, Log out), maybe you could add something to indicate if there are any new messages to be read. Something like where it says 'Inbox', add a bracket '(1)', or whatever number for however many new messages. That way, people would only have to glance up to see if they have any new PMs, rather than reminding themselves to check their Inbox.

About the Net Neutrality thing... I definitely agree that the government should not interfere and place bills that could (and most likely would) damage the free flow of information, and place big companies with a monopoly on such information within their control. Isn't this enforcable only in areas within the US? I realize that this may result in the US trying to persuade other countries to follow the same steps (whatever steps that they may be) - but how would they plan on doing this on a large scale basis, considering that it could only cover areas based withing the US? And then there are issues about where servers are based, how information is transmitted (assuming that the telephone companies are the ones who installed the fiber optic cables, and charge already for service along them), and a whole bunch of other things.

Bah. Hopefully no ridiculous bills gets passed, and net neutrality stays intact.

It's already been discussed that this isn't an option at the moment due to database issues, but a simple workaround is to make your NG bookmark/start page/whatever point to:

http://newgrounds.com/gold/login.php

You won't get automatic notification of every new message that comes in, but you will at least see your inbox in giant letters every time you nail that bookmark, and that'll help you remember to check your messages. I've had mine set up that way for quite a while, ever since I started having issues with NG sporadically logging me out for no good reason, so at least I'd know if I was logged in, and now I know if I have messages, too.

That does mean that I don't ever make it to the front page; I usually just go right to the portal from there and don't think to check the front page. Oh well... it's a trade off.

I dont like the new "Respond to your reviews by looking at them and pressing a button" thing, because now i can`t respond to anything when my stuff is still in judgement, so if somebody asks for something to be updated or tells me that there is a glitch, or something like that in the movie/game, then i can quickly change it, now that you cant read/respond to reviews you could get a better chance of your movie/game getting blammed with a glitch.
