hhmm dunno about the Folk influences but if you want some shit raw orthodox black metal check out Ildjarn. Maybe check out Enslaved Vikingligr Veldi, its still more melodic but has a bit of an edge to it compared to the more modern stuff. I would also recommend the peste noire album i posted earlier i wouldnt say that it was particularly happy but again doesnt really have the folk influences.. you may like Gontyna Kry thinking about actually out of all the ones ive said it probably comes closest with the folk influences

So I was listening to my old Nysroghaal demo today, and I actually kind of enjoyed it. Sure, the guitar production is horrible, there's no hats or rides, and my vocals are laughable, but I just think it's really kvlt as the first offering of Fiend, the soon to be famous black metaller. :P :D :D :D

well for me with black metal i only care about how the vocals sound rather then whats being said, the lyrics mean little or nothing to me, its the feeling the album gives off through its sound that interests me. Although vocals are lowest in the way i rank bm, for me its drums and guitars at the top then vocals

i dont think its that bad tbh, the fact that its only 3 songs help i think if it was longer then it would get a bit repetitive. but its quite an enjoyable listen, and not as bad as you think

Ok now a general open question to you all, how do yuo feel about NSBM? do you listen to it? if yes, do you listen becos you agree with the message it sends out or do you just like the music? if no do you feel that if a person listens to it then they must obviously harbour some extreme right wing feelings?

I enjoy some NSBM, I like Temnozor and some Absurd (plus a few others), i do not agree with the message and out of the bands i listen to i cant really pick out any particular message (maybe if i paid more attention to the lyrics etc).
