No they wouldn't. I'd treat them just like another user. Sure, they might have the most experience on the site, but it doesn't mean you should treat them any differently from another user.

I know mods high level users are people two

Obviously, otherwise there'd be like no mods, most of them would have been banned before they were modded.

*Looks at DirtySyko*

Yet post quality is the principle groundwork for being an exemplary regular or moderator. Experience will display dedication to ng's portal, thus, higher recognition and satisfaction for the egotystical bunch, but is insignificant on the BBS. Moreoever, recent moderoator picks such as Justice and Sarai further prove's that level status is a negligible prowess.

noir_ hit the nail on the head. People keep posting that you need to be a high level user to be modded. I am a lvl three and have deposited once since the first month I joined NG. Your lvl has ntohign to do with the BBS. There are high lvl users with shitty BBS records (crap posts the like) and there are lollipops that have amazing posts.

Its the quality of your posting and if we think a person has what it takes to be a mod, not their exp points, blams/saves, voting power etc.

Yeah and _Luis_ is a great example of that. Although seeing a person have higher stats then you might make you feel less then them you really arent. I mean when I see a high level user on the BBS I usually think they would have something good to say. But a lot have very stupid posts. And a lot of people think ALL level 1's are "n00bs" but some are very smart and have a lot of great things to say. And they should be respected.

Response to How YOU can become a MOD! 2005-11-16 22:39:08

not all level 1 users are noobs, example, jamesfarr, illwillpress, _luis_, and some others, they just dont bother depositing experience points couse they are too busy making flash, so you shouldnt judge someone for his level but for the size of his.---- well... for theyr experience at stuff

It's hard to really respect anyone that's low level because they've done mostly shit for NG, other than post a lot. Ok, perhaps people arent depositing their exp points because they dont want to level up. Maybe we like to have lollipops, and bare hands? I watch flash, I vote on flash, and I contribute alot to this site, just because I dont deposite my points doesnt mean I am not voting. Yeah my voting power may be low as well, but I am usually not signed in when I am on the portal, only on the BBS.

Its not that I dont have time to deposite, its just I dont want to deposit, I like my lvl and I am fine with only being a lvl 3. I havent made any flash or audio, but does that mean I contribute little to the site?

Ya, but I was just saying that I personally respect higher level people more for their accomplishments and contributions to the site. It's hard to really respect anyone that's low level because they've done mostly shit for NG, other than post a lot. Unless they have some awesome flash or something, I don't understand why they can't take like 2 minutes every day to deposit or vote on flash, when they have time to spend months in the forums racking up posts.

I personally, like the idea of not having anything but my bare fist. And so I refuse to level up any further. I don't need a "weapon" to feel superior, my post quality should be good enough.

Also, wouldn't it make sense to mod people who are focused on the forum rather than other parts of the site. Sure its nice to have someone who likes ng as a whole, but you don't have to deposit everyday to know the rules. Maybe thats what sets some people apart from the rest, is their commitment to the bbs and not so much the entire site.

oh and I guess this is a topic about mods... well whoever they choose its probably not going to be me, so who really cares. I'll just post and lurk here and there for a while and try to have a good time.

What's the first rule of being a mod? Don't ask to be a mod. This not only applies here at NG, but message boards everywhere.

50% of all statistics are made up 90% of the time.

The first rule of becoming a mod is dont talk about becoming a mod.
The second rule of becoming a mod is dont talk about becoming a mod.

The third rule of becoming a mod is to post crappy, overused eBaumsworld pictures in the general forum. Apparently.

I saw no Ebaumsworld marker on it. i was gonna post the Ozcar version but I couldnt find it. And how long did you look to find that post?

Well one advantage of being a mod is, once you are modded you get to hear the amazing secret on how to use commas.
