I prefer the old header, but the new header looks professional. You are either jealous or blind. Show us your great website before criticizing this one.
It doesn't take an expert to know that professionalism and fashionability have almost completely moved away from large simple buttons to smaller and more complex, this is also the case for general layout which must be balanced slightly with cleanliness and ease of use, Newgrounds has definitely given more weight to ease of use which is unfashionable and unprofessional according the contemporary trend.

The immediate impression you get from it is not a very good one.

You still haven't replyed with your amazing site which has "smaller and more complex buttons with cleanliness and ease of use". How are big buttons hard to use? Is it too hard to understand that the "games" button will go to the games page? Write your essay after you can prove you have surpased newgrounds design.

Copmletely off topic, but I think the new slogan should be "Tomorow's stars, today" or something. It's not much of a change, just an evolution.
Maybe "The future starts here."?

Just speculating.

It might just be me, it might just be my bowser (though I doubt it), but the 'save login' thing doesn't seem to work. it works while i'm on the site, but if I leave and come back later, I still have to put in my password again... it's nothing major... just annoying...

Response to Header Updates 2006-02-20 01:20:53

Yeah, the "save login" thing doesn't work for me, and I have this problem on other sites as well - I keep logging out after about 5 minutes. I suspect that it might be some sort of Firefox option that I don't see - can anyone help?

I really liked the old NG slogan a lot better - it was funny! And because it was funny, I remembered it!

("The problems of tommorow, today!")

This one is just somewhat forgettable and doesn't have nay of the spark that the old one had.

You should read the post before you write something, my point was that newgrounds has emphasized "Ease of use" too much at the expense of professionalism and fashionability.

This is called an ad hominem, I have nothing to do with the site being unprofessional, and my personal skills as a website designer are also not relevant to the site being unprofessional.

So the buttons might still be too big, the vertical height too tall, and the slogan too bland - but beyond that - any other bugs / glitches with the new header?

Personnaly i think the header is....alright one thing i though that would be good and keeping with the army theme would be to put some fighter planes flying in a V formation in the sky

Something that's bugging me, the log in area of the header. First thing, after you are logged on, it looks too dull. Just a big black ugly square with text and a button... ehhh not liking it too much.

Second thing, I don't know if this is just me or not, but everytime I come to newgrounds, I'm not logged on. I log in, check the "save password" box, and then I stay logged in for the duration of time I am on the site. But I come back the next day, and it has my username typed in, but I have to enter my password all over. It never used to do this.. and it annoys me (It's a hassle).

Other than that, it looks alright I guess.. has alot of room for improvement though, to match up to the old one.
