We are getting sick and tired of users pulling crap like this to alter scores so they can win and entries that should win do not.
In the future we will take more serious action.

And NG gets tighter security and fairplay wise.

From this day on any user who has found to purposely swing a score will have their accounts terminated.
All we ask is users vote and review honestly. It's easy to tell if a user is giving and honest score, or if they are intentionally giving a biased score.

Assuming that the majority of "Reviews" are even reviews at all.

We may also crack down on groups that mass together and vote 10's to increase their chances of an award.

Times like this I'm glad I chose to not associate myself with big groups.

Why should some group with an average submission have 30 some members all vote 10 on it, when another Flash artist who doesn't have a group behind bim submits something better and gets 8's and 9's and doesn't win, when he may have if it wasn't for the group voting all 10's on their entry.
If it means I have to remove every member's account of these groups, so be it. If they want to strong arm their way to awards and ruin the Newgrounds.com experience for the users who are using our system properly, fuck 'em.

Doesn't it stand to reason that members of these groups are going to have a similiar sense of humour to everyone else in said group ? They shouldn't be allowed to grant the flash a 10/9/8 simply because they're a member of a flash group ?

Lot’s of blabla again. Again this rant is targeted at groups mostly known on the BBS. Now the BBS is small and insignificant to the rest of NG. Concentrating on groups with 10 to 100 members is not going to do much. Just look at the top 50. ebaumsworld.com gets to close to the overrated ex Disney animator and wham, next day it’s at spot 40. Why don’t you concentrate on that? Fan boys fucking up the top 50. Way and way larger “group” that manipulate popular flash rankings.

Only they aren’t part of a group, they are just fan boys (lets say at least a 1000), defending their fav animator by any cause: voting 5 on the their beloved animator and voting 0 on everything that comes 5 spots to close. This whole top 50 yoyo thing has been going on forever and nothing has been done about it. This all is on a larger scale then the whole group thing you are trying to stop. But to be honest, I don’t have any good ideas that could prevent that.

So group members are restricted from doing stuff while fanatic fan boys can vote 5 and 0 on whatever they want. That is unfair. And there are groups who actually have some intelligent members that know what they are doing. And now they should be allowed to do stuff because they are part of a group? Not that yay. I appreciate your efforts but there are other more important things. And btw, review crew pick and underdog are not that important compared to other awards.

Suppose a member of one of these groups leaves a legitimate review, with a fair score, and a perfectly reasonable explanation for the score they have given? Would they still face penalties for it?

probobly the wrong time to bring this up, but the portal rules say that you cannot submit highley pornographic material yet, the goatse collab remains in the portal and even wins best of yesterday. You could give resons why not to delete but why give rules if you are not going to keep them,

How dare you accuse SS members of down voting that fucking sprite movie. If anyone was massvoting, it was the VGDC, with THREE alternate accounts.

They voted 0 on the SS submission three times before the SS won Review Crew Pick, clearly a biased course of action. Luckily, the SS had enough support from the rest of Newgrounds to overcome that and win RCP FAILRY AND JUSTLY.

If anyone is being biased, its YOU, Wade Fulp, and your group of cocksucking merrymen. You are not taking the time to look at how things turned out properly and considering all the evidence. Perhaps if you watched both subissions, not only would you realise that the SS submission is much higher quality than the VGDC's peice of sprite tweening tat, but also that the SS submission has the right to Review Crew Pick just like any other movie.

If you are going to start being biased towards certain groups like this then you might as well shut down Newgrounds now. This place is starting to have more corruption than the American goverment.

Some of the new actions seem bit drastic, but I understand.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I read over Wade's post, not that I didn't agree with the first part. This connects back again to that SS thread in which all the members as a whole were punished or scorned for the bad deeds of the few. It's just easier to focus on a group that all have similar names than it is to pick out the 1000's of users independently ruining the voting system. Restricting certain users from voting and reviewing for associating with other users is wrong.

More people vote 0 on the Brackenwood series on a daily basis than any other entry in the top fifty list and have consistently done so for a long time. This is offset by those who vote highly on the entry, because believe it or not, they like it - and these are not the same "fanboys" that vote highly every day - the only people to consistently vote on entries every single days tend to be those who vote give entries bad scores, rather than good scores.

So. If I see a flash made by a friend. I can't review it 10 for no reason?

I have one question that might seem dumb but, (ill put it in the form of a hypathetical situation) Some kid watches some video he loves it alot so he gives it a perfect 5! He then goes on the hext day and he already knowse the video is good so with out watching it again hes givs it a 5 so his fav. video becomes number 1. Is this allowed

Well, if it weren't, I'm sure jim could cook up a way to prevent anyone from voting the same entry twice (as you can't review twice either). So yes, you can vote on the same flash numerous times, just as long it's on one account.

not surprising. That's why I 5 them every day, I find it difficult to believe There She Is series and Final Fantasy A+ Rebound into top 5 so fast.
