I think I've heard more white people use the word than black people. It's just slang, and lots of people use it. If you're asking where the word came from, I have no fucking idea. Some illiterate bastard just decided to make up a word and everyone thought it was hip.

People call me "white" all the time, and I don't complain about it.
I mean, I could insist that they call me "Caucasian American" or "European American" or "English Irish Italian Norwegian Czechoslovakian American" ... but I don't.
