Ok, so Tom just created another post asking us what are our goals for 2008.

But I ask your guys... What are your goals for 2008?

I don't have lots of goals, but here they are:

- Try working with Flash;
- Start playing the guitar better;
- Dedicate a little more to school (but I still think I don't need it);
- Get fit

There might (should) be more, but I can't think of anything else right now.

Yeah, I miss the blue personally. I felt it was more soothing and generally nicer than the normal theme. I wish there was an option for each user to customise the top part of the page, so I could keep it blue, but that's obviously not going to happen.

Thank God! It was nice to see something besides orange, but all that blue was really depressing. Plus the part of school I'm in most of the day is blue.

I started off playing general rock stuff, nothing too complicated, but there's only so many variations of a 4/4 beat that you play before you need to progress - so I started infusing some jazz and shuffle type beats into my normal stuff.

I think the idea has been mentioned before, but whilst in reality it would be a nice addition to the flexibility of the site, the reality of it is that it would be a huge amount of work for the staff. I don't know the ins and outs of it due to that fact that I'm not a website programmer, but word was that putting the idea into practice would be very difficult indeed. Shame, really.

Yah, I heard that jazz is really important in the basis of drums.

Ugh, so glad that blue went away. It's nice for a little while, but it was up for way too long.

I don't have much for goals this year, really. I guess just don't die. That's a good goal I wish to achieve.

In some ways, yeah. Jazz is rooted deeply in the drumming rudiments, so learning jazz alongside the rudimental stuff would be a good way to start.

Double kicks are cool, yeah, but expensive, and very difficult to master. I'd advise buying a double pedal before investing in an extra bass drum, in order to get the hang of it. That's what I did.

I've played solo, jammed, been in several bands, played gigs, and now I'm back to playing solo. Playing with other musicians is the best though.

Would be cool. I can't remember the reason that it apparently would be difficult to do, but I believe it has something to do with the fundamental way the site operates. I dunno, maybe I'll ask someone who knows about that stuff.

Portal is still slow, and it's irritating me. I've managed to get nearly 50 B/P today, but it's been an effort. A few days ago I got 102 B/P in a day without breaking a sweat. Stupid fluctuating portal >:(

It's funny for my day is usually the same, get up bout 11, around 15 things on the portal, they go away in like 15 minutes. Then very little till around 7 at night, then it keeps a steady 20, if I stay up till like 2 i can make around 100 but way too much effort :P

Yeah, it's the 5 hour time difference that kills me. If I stay up late I can get more B/P, but I'll feel dead when I have to wake up the next morning. I CAN'T HANDLE THE COMPROMISE!!!

The thread would have the same point, but it would be diferent. I don't think the moderators would let the forum drown like the old one did. In my opinion, the should have been a rule like this:
"You can only post here if you have at least one link with at least one abusive review. No agreement only posts."
If they create that rule and ban, or at least warn, who doesn't follow that rule, the thread would be a sucess. There should also be a no spam rule.

I agree, it has been really bad, although it's starting to get better now. The problem is that I see lots of high-sized Flashes coming, and when I vote them, they have already passed judjement. Also, I've reached 1600 Blams. I know it isn't really an achievement, but it looks good!

I also remember that, before, the thread used to grow about 3/4 of page per day. In it's final moments, it could grow about 2 pages a day, one page of pure discussion and not even one link. At least, the +1 post count people won't have where to run now. =)

Yeah, today most users only care about status, not the original reason it has. Seriously, I have a Deity whistle, and it's very usefull. Everytime I see an unsuitable movie here, I blow the whistle on it and, like a magic trick, it dissapears. It's very usefull against crap, it's like a powerfull toilet flush.
Anyway, It's a good thing it's been locked.

I know, the problem will be start from square-one. Will the new thread be better than the last one? Will there be a new thread?

Meh, alright. I had the written portion of my history final to do today, and albeit easy, it still was 2 essays to write in ~70 minutes of class. Plus, rather than just snowing, it was a "wintry mix" (an orgy of rain and snow falling form the sky) today. But other than that, it was a decent day.

Too true... unless you are me and typing this at 4:15AM... in fact I am doing very well at being nocturnal at the moment. Fortunately I don't have to get up in the mornings as it's exam period, and I don't have any until next week- then of course I am screwed, with two exams at 9:30AM. Though I am toying with becoming completely nocturnal and just staying up all night before them, sleeping all day. Less time to forget everything while I sleep...

It has picked up quite nicely now though- I'm still going solidly at around 60-70 points per day this week (not including Sunday as I missed all of that). Best I've done in a long long time. More amazingly, I'm getting almost equal blams and protects- its a very long time since I've been able to say that!

Hopefully all the spamming will be sorted out now. I don't go in there much to be honest, I tend to just whistle what I see rather than actively hunt it down, but without it I suspect a huge number of people will stop whistling altogether, and that doesn't do much good for NG.
