Well, like Slash said, it's important to be fair. If yoshi wants to say something about this, I'd be very glad to hear it. In the meantime, I have no opinion on the matter, as it is unfair for me to cast judgment on something I haven't seen both sides of. If anything, if these actions are a thing of the past, it might be prudent to give yoshi a probationary period of membership before he is considered a full member. Otherwise, I'd need to talk to Slash to get an idea of what to do.

I haven't accepted it yet either. I mean, I believe he was serious about doing it, but what if he tried, and something happened that stopped him? Also, if he's caught trying to do something like that and is saved, they don't just toss you back out on the street, so for all you know, he could be somewhere getting counseled right now. I mean, hell, he could even get committed for months if he was caught... Either way, though, if we don't hear anything by, say, January 1st, I don't think we'll hear anything at all. Until then, I think I'll hold off saying my final respects.

Well, I do know one thing. Overdosing on pills is actually quite difficult as your body has a tendency to vomit when it starts getting overdosed. So, he may have gotten very sick from it, but death is pretty rare, but certainly not impossible.

Pills is also a way for people who are in very serious depression to actually call for help. Hanging is a far more serious and known end for people attempting suicide since it's most likely going to result in death.

So, I am on the hopeful side of if he did go thru with it that he was unsuccessful since his route for the attempt is, for the most part, one of the the most unsuccessful types it would seem it might be a call for help more than anything. (I hope)

Still, it's sad to have a friend feeling like that and thinking that is the only way out because, fact is, it isn't the only way out. Ever.

Agreed. I was talking with PossiblePancakes about this. Let's picture the situation: It's 1AM in Israel, he's drunk, and he's going out to a field to commit suicide. First off, he can't drive (since he said he was drunk), so he'd be walking out to a field with tons of medication and walking alone. The chance of someone seeing him and calling the cops is not small. Also, like Viper just said, your body will try to reject the pills and vomit.

Ugh, I hate having to think up scenarios about this, and I'm certainly not trying to paint a mosaic of hopeless reasons to hang onto the thought of him being still alive, but I feel like one too many things could have "gone wrong" and it isn't pure speculation in saying he could still be alive. I think it's hard for all of us that knew him well to deal with this, and I'm not going to pretend like it's not affecting me in a big way.

At this point, though, rather than speculating and keeping on trying to think up how this is working, I think it's safe to say he really meant to try to do the act, but we can't be sure whether he failed or succeeded. We should keep trying to find news (especially from WickedWizard's sources) and see if we hear anything. Like I said, if we are going to hear news, it'll be either really soon or at some point in the indiscriminate future. So let's just cross our fingers and hope for the best.

However, Yoshi, you are not permabanned from ever becoming a member. If you try to join up again at a later date, and enough members can say that they're adequately convinced of your intentions, it will be reconsidered. And I assure you it will be reconsidered with no hard feelings on my part (assuming I don't personally observe anything malicious from you, of course).

True, but he said he was drunk, and alcohol is known to make just about any dose of just about any medicine lethal. Not that I'm giving up hope; I'm just trying to keep it real, something Phantom liked to do all the time.

Even though the Yoshi case is over, I'd like to point out that he had around 700 blams and 4k saves; I would think most of you would agree that this means he does not put forth a good effort to stop spam from staying in the Portal.
