Did you hesitate before getting your honorable discharge Peregrinus?

Actually, there is still a problem there. Knowing most NG users, they LOVE to vote as long as the voting buttons appear. What I am saying is that they vote on the entries based on what they see in the first a few seconds. (I bet that some of them will vote 5 as long as the preloaders look cool.) One thing is common for UU/CC/KK/LL/NN entries is that almost all of them have fansy start. So I am worried that the voting buttons may appear too soon for some of the users to vote fairly. Personally, I am against the idea of voting as soon as they see a fansy start since it will ruin all the fairness. Everyone knows that a fansy start is NOT equal to a high quality moive. I believe that Tom and Wade should make the voting buttons appear slower so that voters will have some time to watch and think what the entries really deserve. Thoughts.

You make a good point there Mr. Duke. Still, noeone wants to wait that long for a bar to appear on the screen. I mean today for example, I saw a flash with over 14kb file size. In my opinion, I don't even think that a flash should be that big, but it was by MindChamber so I was still pleased. I was so happy to see the bar come up right away because I didn't want to wait a good 5-10 minutes to vote on it when I could be doing something more productive. Also, all of those flashes that the groups like the Noob Nation and the Uzi Union make will be saved regardless of their fancy pre-loaders. I will agree with you on making the bar a bit slower but it should definately not go back to the way it was before it was changed.

Good thouth about the voting button... but ... ower noobish comunity of Ng that protectd evrithing that's pro clock, lock, uzi, sunshine, and other submissions don't even look at the submission... some say that is actualy cool, but it ain't cas every amateur flash maker could do better than a spam submitt artist for reall...

Thanks for your support, mate. You see, the point is that some flash makers do NOT know how to make the file size small. As a result, a 10000 kb file may only last 10 seconds. If that is the case, I will to eager to vote as fast as possible if the entry is super short. But like I said, I would not vote before the entry ends which will ruin all the fairness. Imagine that you are watching a 10000 kb entry and it is superb at the beginning. So you vote high on it as soon as the voting buttons appear. After you have voted, the entry suddenly becomes crappy. Then you will be like: "Oh, noes! I voted 5 already!". If I am not mistaken, there was a moive long time ago, its beginning was PURE ART and people all voted 5. Then all of a sudden, (after 1 minute) everything just became so crappy. However, because most people voted already, the entry still passed the judgement although it should not. As a result, I still advice people here to watch the whole entry first before voting. Also, I do not like the idea of voting automatic 2 on UU/KK moives. Sure they will be protected, but why bother since you know that it is a free protection point anyway? At EGB, we vote based on the QUALITY of the entries instead of getting the protection points. To be honest, any SS/UU/KK blank screen (loading screen) is an 0 from me because there is no efforts putting in. Yea, I will lose these protection points, but I do not want to hear some people complain that their entries got blammed although they were way better than some of the UU/KK/SS entries. I do not want to be one of those who helped them to get their crappy entries into the portal. So please, vote FAIR.

As for the loading bar, when people see the view# now, they dread the vote count is nearly the same and vote quickly, usually there would be about 30 people separating the vote, and view count. Now there are about ten, so panic leads to reckless votes and bad judgment.

The funny thing about the moive was that the author somehow resubmitted it and then got caught (whistled) for submitting the same thing without any improvement. Anyway, the moive "Troy" (let me name it like that since I cannot recall the full name.) was a bloody lesson for all the reckless voters. At EGB, everyone is an Elite Guard, so we should act and behave in a more mature way than those NG n00bs. Cleanly, thinking carefully before voting will do wonders to us and the reputation of EGB.

Hey, I just happened to see this thread while going through Google looking at all the sites my game is on.

All I will say is this: If you are complete idiots, then I apologize. If you're just out to get me and want to get my entries flagged, I'll point out to Wade what's going on in this thread, the encouragement of mass-flagging entries that do not break any rules, and making up complete lies about them.

I wasn't encouraging mass-flagging. When I opened that game some weird stuff happened to my computer (like my wallpaper changing). I wasn't the only that encountered that problem, a couple of other users had similar problems after opening it too.

We're not idiots, and we're not out to get you (I don't even know you) if a movie is causing problems we report it, yours caused problems so it was flagged. There's no mass-flagging conspiracy going on here.

Being that the game has been played over 3 million times and is on a few hundred sites and I've received 0 complaints elsewhere, I'm going to assume something was going on. Tell me if you disagree, but when a game gets featured on basically every big Flash game site there is, it's kind of hard to believe you honestly thought there was something wrong with it.

Since you start with in an insult, I feel it is only polite to return the gesture. I don't even know if that flash was by you, but it was flagged for a reason, and if your limited brain capabilities, fitting a 5 year old, can't see that the discussion of fair voting and whistling made for 40% of conversation here, you are beyond a doubt, the complete idiot.

Secondly, while I for one played, and liked the game. A huge amount of people complained it changed settings on their computer. It did nothing to me, so I won't judge that, but I trust those men, and if they said it's true, it is. Now shoo, learn to debate.

I don't care where its been featured. Here, in Newgrounds there were complaints from various users about this game changing settings in their computers. The same thing happened to me and that's why I whistled it.

It might have been a glitch as any other, no one can predict anything, and you must not pounce on anyone stating a point, you don't know for a fact they are lying, nor do you know they say the truth. But some people did complain, there is no explaining, denying or disproving it. I'll finish by saying that insulting those who may very well only want the best result for every one is a bad idea, and worse when done near me.

OK, look. It's just a little bewildering when people make accusations that I would want to install viruses on people's computers. I mean that's a heavy accusation. All I wanted was an explanation, but it doesn't really look like I'm going to get it.

I'm apologize if I offended you, but no matter how you look at it, telling me that I would try to sabotage the computers of Newgrounds users makes me feel pretty bad, especially when there's 0 truth to it.

That's exactly why I say it could have been a glitch, I myself know games made by experienced people usually have no such things. I believe, something went wrong, when hosted on NG, and combined with some types of internet security and computer settings. I guess you can say, the lines crossed.

It's no one's fault, but niether is it a valid excuse to lash out at any one.
