Ok Silver is easy to get anyone can get and maintain a silver whistle (No offense to anyone here) Also you don't recieve a single whistle point from a flagged flash movie until a member of the NG staff checks it and deletes it. you most likely got your whistle from flagging abusive reviews. if something get blammed or protected and you blew the whistle on it the flags are clear and you don't lose whistle points. you only lose whistle points if a member of the NG staff checks out the review/flash and clears the flags. also just because you make one error with flagging doesn't mean you will get a garbage whistle.

Ok lets just say that movie got marked and it was sent back into the portal because a member of the NG staff found it to be anything but abuse. since you have enough whistle points for a silver whistle you won't go straight down to a garbage whistle since you won't lose as many whistle points as you would gain. the only way someone could get a garbage whistle is if their whistle points was adjusted by the NG staff to where ever it needs to be for that user to have a garbage whistle or if you made enough bad calls to make your whistle turn to garbage. One bad call at a silver whistle isn't enough to get you a garbage whistle maybe a bronze one if you lost just enough to go down to silver.

I have been reading the thread and there are some questions that keep poping up about how you gain and lose points and a couple of other things about the whistle system. well here another guild to the whistle system for flash made easy.

first subject Stolen flash

as we all know a stolen flash is something that was uploaded into the portal that doesn't belong to the author. When you see this stuff make sure you post the site or
NG portal were the original movie was submitted as evidence. When flagging under this catergory sometimes people often mistake a flash that is similar to another flash as stolen. this is not always the case since some people will make work that is similar to another popular game such as snake, pong Etc. Unless you see something that is exactly the same as someone else work you should avoid posting it.

Second subject malicious flash

As a lot of you know there are some people who try to submit flash that can really mess up your computer with pop ups auto spawn you to another site. when you find those go on and flag them since they break the rules. but if you see a flash that has a link to a website at the end of it don't flag it since the rules state that you can put links into flash movies. If someone resubmits a movie that has been blammed without improvement don't post it or flag it just let it get blammed so the person can get a portal ban. Only flag the movie if it looks like it is going to pass judgement you can check the link in my sig called " the reason why wade said not to flag resubmitted crap" for more of an explanation. this goes for people who say they are giving out free blam points as well. if you flag stuff like this you will only be giving the NG staff more work they don't need since they have a lot to do anyways.

The final subject illegal flash

As a lot of you may know there are some people who submit hateful or illegal flash. Illegal flash would be stuff like Hentai slide shows, hardcore porn, racist flash, mutalation ETC. if you see something like the "charming" big bag flag it. if you see porn that is in the form of a slideshow and not a quiz you it is up for grabs as well as movie where they shot real people in the head, chopping off body parts ETC. But if you see something that is in the form of a hentai quiz leave it alone. This also goes for Hand drawn flash such as the brickhouse betty series. flagging those will only result in losing whistle points "if it gets marked for review and the author can prove it isn't breaking any rules".

I hope this helps those who weren't sure what to flag/post and what not to flag/post.

Me too, many of these members have been around for a long time and we have all had good times with them. Best case scenario is that this serves as a reminder and they just sorta forgot about us... heh.

I know many people such as Donthurtme and worldfamous for example are very busy and are still commited to the Barracks and wish they could be here, so it would be a huge plus for us if folks like them could come back soon.

Anyhoo, so far I've recieved word from carmelhadinosaur who says that hes far too busy to visit the NG BBS anymore let alone actively participate in the Barracks. So hes out.

Also generalmario said he still wanted to be a member and was sorry for not being around very much because of school and stuff. So we'll have to see if he comes back or not.
