I'm sure some people will question why this wasn't blammed. It was protected by the NG staff. This is a good example of something that is small in file size, doesn't break any rules, and while pointless, it can be found humorous by some people. There should be more tolerance for entries like this and they shouldn't be blammed.

What the hell! The voters are the ones that should be able to keep a flash in or out of the Portal by the score that the flash gets. If it gets low score, Blam. If it gets high score, Save. Some people are weird these days.

I am going to play the Devil's advocate here and tell you why it may be a good thing it was protected. But, I'm still a little annoyed it passed.

This was originally blammed too and I'm glad that it was brought back. Even though they may say the authors are the same, I'm glad I got to see it. So, yeah, they can bring it back on. It's just one measily Blam point, one measly more flash, and what if it gets TOTW? So what, it's not the apocolypse. So in conclusion, it's not a big deal, but I can see what the whole hype is about.

Yeah, I ain't gonna have a stroke over one blam point, especially seeing as I'll get 100 more points before the day is done...it just seems a bit hypocritical to be trying to encourage new people to blam and protect, while also going "but if we don't agree, we'll override you".

ironically, thats the only flash i havent voted on since ive been awake today. i can see where everyone is coming from with the staff being hypocrites. because, yes, the reason newgrounds has a portal is so that users can determine the level of quality. it would have made sense that, because the users blammed it, it deserves to stay blammed.

on the other hand, there are so many people voting that will not watch an entire submission. they see a flash like this as an easy point and dont give thought to whether or not it has any decent content. i think they were just trying to make that point. people act like bots (fixit) sometimes and just assume that a flash like that wont make it, so they dont give it a fair chance.

I wanted to make a quick comment about the flash that was un-blammed by the NG Staff.

Whether the flash deserved to be in the Portal or not is irrelevant at this point. However, consider the flash's pluses and minuses:

+ Good animation
+ Excellent framerate (not 5 fps, but more like 25-30 fps)
+ Working preloader and no general errors
+ Excellently compressed sound
+ Decently-delivered quick humor
- Cocks and Balls are in the flash
- Lack of a true plot
- Too short to be a truly great flash

Now, the flash itself wasn't amazing, but should it have been blammed as badly as it was? I don't think so. I personally voted 2 on it, because it wasn't amazing, but I felt it was of enough quality to be admitted to the Portal. Therefore, I voted how I did.

Regardless of the flash, though, it proves a point that Wade has pointed out. How many NG users actually bother to watch the entire flash movie? Do they actually sit and critique the UJ video, or do they just wait for the 0-5 flash to load so they can cast their vote? I would say that most users don't even bother to watch the whole flash. Also, people tend to vote based on filesize. For instance, if a flash is over 5MB, people always protect because they know that a NG admin has allowed the flash to be submitted. On the other hand, flash under 100KB rarely pass judgement, so most people insta-blam those flash. That is indeed why Wade got pissed off, and I do not blame him.

I believe (and apparently Wade does as well) that the flash would have passed judgement if people would not vote on filesize. Even if a file is 15KB, I will watch it all the way. Why? The flash I made (which has passed judgement) was 15KB without sound. The music brought it to around 250KB, but still...it does not take a large file to make a good flash.

Also, I feel the the quality of the animation in Little Green Guy was far better than my animation, yet mine passed with a score around 2.20/5.00. I do not feel it is fair that people vote based on filesize and flash like this are not given a proper chance to survive.

I think more importantly, though, that the lesson behind Wade's decision should be taken into consideration here. Most NG voters do not care about the quality of the flash at hand...all they care about is their Blam or Protect point. Is that fair judgement? Isn't that why we are here in the Barracks in the first place, because your average voter is biased and we try to alleviate the impartialities in the vote? Why be so upset when the NG Admins attempt to administer some justice and try to support the principles we stand by?

I'm sure many of you will be pissed off at me because of my opinions on the matter, but I never got anywhere by compromising my principles. That is how I feel, and I support Wade and the other NG Admins in their decision. I think they did this to prove a point, and it is a good one. Seriously I agree with that you said about people voting without watching the whole submission but I still think that this kind of incident sort of renders the whole point blamming useless.

yea i still have three weeks left too. 9 school days then 4 of exams and im free from high school! should be exciting.

I must apologize for my absense from the boards. Its coming to the end of school and i've been swamped with both homework and work. This is my last week of school though before i graduate so ill be back to normal soon enough. I feel bad that ive been gone so long but i haven't been able to help it. The past two weeks i've only gotten around 50 or so b/p points so it'll be nice to get back to newgrounds. Once again sorry.

Or you could break the pattern and have it say:

or its possible that you could keep the sig the way it is, and add ebaum after hitler with the caption "ebaum = real REAL fail" or something like that. i donno kind of a dumb suggestion. personally i think its hilarious now so i dont think ebaum even needs to be added. but its your sig so go for it.
