I, too, would love to be an Officer here at the barracks. Unfortunately, I am only half qualified. I may be a regular Barrack's contributer, however I simply don't have the ranking to become an officer. O well...in due time I suppose!

Anyway, -Dreg- Day seems to be less of an initial threat as previously thought. However, it is important to remain extra cautious and vigilant. I've got my new weapon ready. Hopefully, this -Dreg- Day will prove as a nice test-run for its full capability!

Excellent work, sir. I, myself gained over 100 B/P today as well. I think I gained around 90 last night (I don't think I got over 100 yesterday). With the B/P I got today, it was got me up to 21000 B/P. Just another 500 until my next rank and 9000 more B/P until I reach EGSC.

I have been working more in the portal since my recent recovery from pneumonia. And since then I have made it to Elite Guard Praporshchik O=). That's 8,000+ B/P and I will be working for more.

I too have been seeing some of this "Dreg Day", and I have seen it in the past too. Or it was just some Dreg flashes.

Excellent update, sir! I like the list a lot! The "inactive list" is another great touch, as it makes us aware of potentials, and can recognize those that are interested. Perhaps it could even act as incentive to become active again!

I made a mistake on one position. The Barracks Recruitment Officer would report to the Barracks Advancement Officer (General XwaynecoltX), not yourself.

The reason I have the job is thanks to relations in the HQ, mafia and this Barracks which few others have... Only one suitable for any of these jobs that correlate with mine is around here so far. the_fallen_one1...

Well, like I said, one position is not under your jurisdiction. However, the NGPD Laison I feel is an important role, as recent dischargees of the club would be able to correspond between both places. I feel that there are several candidates for the position, the most notable right now being Captain K-Pingu, considering all he has done for the NGPD. However, there can indeed be more than one Laison, as it is technically not an officer position. However it is a delegated role in the Barracks, which will make your job easier.

As far as the second position (Barracks Reconaissance Operations Officer), I consider it important for the club as activity must be searched for all around the BBS. Note that this position is merely in charge of discovering information outside the barriers of our friends and the Barracks. The only reason recon ops was considered to be under your command is because it deals with Barracks Relations. If you wish, sir, I can make it so that the position does not report to you, and you will only have laisons under your control (and, if you wish to have one in the future, a Lieutenant to assist you in your duties when you are not around).

And thank god Major_punk is making the list already... And if we have a website it would be nice to hang out during DEFCON 4 or 5…

I must agree, it is a great job. I would love to have a chat room similar to the one the NGPD has, as I think it would help during those slow nights on the Portal.

I respectfully don't think so, sir. Many people come around asking what it takes to be in the Elite Guard, and I think it would be good to have someone be in charge of fielding the questions. In that way, they can be assured of getting the most complete answer and everyone can be properly directed. Also, if people need help on B/Ping and whatnot, this is the person in charge.

Barracks Intelligence Operations Officer - Reports to Barracks Portal Operations Officer

Same with this one.

I had given a detailed reason for this before, but it didn't put it in for space reasons. This officer would be in charge of finding information on potential Portal activity. Scouring websites and forums would be the main duty of this officer, attempting to find any potential threats. In essence, Portal Ops is the head Intel Ops officer, but there can be others assisting in his duties.

Barracks Reconaissance Operations Officer - Reports to Barracks Relations Officer

I dont think we need two.

Well, Recon Ops is different from Intel Ops as it deals with barracks relations, not Portal threats.

So for you to have a special role you would need to specify in a particular area.

Also, these are IDEAS, which I am throwing out to give people ideas for what they want to do if they want to serve the Portal. I personally believe these positions are all excellent, but some would be more applicable if the Barracks had a larger roster. In the meantime, use these as ideas to figure out what would be your best role here.

not asking for an appointment is a first rule i think.
as far as i know there are no set standards for becoming a mod/officer/whatever these kind of things are like rewards and it's about who merits it. and just an high B/P count doesn't mean that you'll be a good barracks officer.

besides i have no intention whatsoever in taking X's place. i think he's excellent for the job description given by eaglebellrock. i've known him longer as many people here have been on NG and allready in the days of BC he was an active and respected member of our comunity.

Great work on your promotion. *salutes* Gold badges are very nice. I remember when I was om my way to getting it. I was stopped by a couple of things, however. Computer reformat and internet connection problems. I was close to EG Praporshchik and crap had to get in my way.

This was my first badge that I got early in the day, normally I have to go into the night to finish it off but not this one so it was a bit of a "new" achievement for me.

I used to have a lot of computer problems too but I got a new ehh I forget what its called but it fixed everything heh.

End of day report:
Another great day for me. 134 points! I've started keeping a log of point gains and such in a lil notepad document on my desktop now to mark my gains, as well.
-Dreg- Day wasn't so bad. Several BB submissions, but not the flood I was worried/hoping for, lol. I'm glad they at least submitted them straight-up so we could get blam points...
I'll be free to spend all of tomorrow on NG, as I did the end of my holiday shopping earlier tonight so I wouldn't have to tomorrow. Nice to have it all out of the way. I will probably come on NG on Christmas, but probably near the end of the day or at night. Even someone with a crazy growth rate like me needs a break every now and then! And besides, it'll probably be slow that day.
I just noticed that I'm about to hit my 1000th protect point! It's nice to know that we Elite Guards don't just destroy the enemy...we help the innocent and give them a chance. ^_^

Of course, it will be my honor if I am appointed, but I will be fine even if I do not. By the way, I am having another big b/p day as I have gained around 90 points for the way. Hopefully, I will get another 100+ harvest before I wrap up the day.

So if I understood EagleRock correctly then there should be 2 people forced to work with me. I can't imagine who would want that but let it be said now. I'm tough but I'm fair. I would like to suggest consideration the_fallen_one1 for the role of laison when he finishes with the HQ because he also has connection with the mafia like me.

Due to -Dreg- Day's end, I have lowered the DEFCON from DEFCON 2 to DEFCON 4. Expect minimal activity until morning.

I'd like to congratulate my fellow soldiers on a job well done. Great to hear all of the excellent reports! I currently clocked in at around 115 B/P. I should expect to move my schedule up another day soon! If I do, it will mean that I can achieve a promotion in 8 days, which is an excellent rate for a Sergeant promotion!

He sounds like an excellent candidate sir, but I am a firm believe in giving credit where credit's due. Perhaps he could take the role as the Barracks NG Mafia Laison while K-Pingu resumes the role of the Barracks NGPD Laison? This is all, of course, speculative actions, as nothing final is made yet. What do you think, sir?

Like I said, sir, I believe in giving credit where credit's due. Those that contribute to the Barracks should be given a position to reflect their contributions. I am sure in the future a clear position will be uncovered for you. When it does, sir, I will be the first to petition you for the role!

Just to let you know, as long as people are hating them and giving them attention on the BBS, they will not die. The only way for them to die is people not hating them at all and no threads about them on the BBS for a long time. And that I find impossible at the moment. :(
