well i tried to mark that flash without seein it, but it was gone when i tried. good work to everyone that got rid of it. but irish pimp, maybe you should reconsider resigning. its not that big a deal here, in fact pretty normal. if you act out of line (and pretty much every thread is the same anywhere but the general forum) then people get upset. and im with eagle and slash. responding to spam only gets us in trouble as well as our thread.

thats cool. as long as you keep up with whats goin on and just try to enjoy you time spent in here thats what matters. washu hardly ever comes in anymore but is still a member (mostly a flagging one). you can just give an opinion or something if you want. i dont post too often in here either, so its no big. whenever you feel like it just give us a post.

It's okay. Myspace is kind of annoying after, like, the first 20 minutes. Despite the fact it is clearly marked that I'm in a relationship, I get girls asking me out online...it's fucking annoying. Most of them are ditzes, anyway.

I didn't have to pay for college...I had a full ride for undergrad and am working part time for my graduate degree. That's a lot of time to get a car like that squeezed in...

That is quite the car. Having your college paid for makes a huge difference. College fees alone are enough to bankrupt some people. I have the joy of my schooling being paid for as well. It just makes getting everything done that much sweeter.

1. Should users have them?
2. What are they good for?
3. Do they casue more trouble then they are worth?
4. Overall pro's and con's.

They can if they wish. The NG Mods and Admins don't really have a problem with it...why should we?

I don't think so. Many, many, many people have alts and they don't bother anyone. I have an alt, but it doesn't bother anyone. There are probably more alts out there then we can estimate. The reason we don't know about them is because they are harmless. It's not the alts, that are a problem, it's the users that use the alts that are the problem.

4. Overall pro's and con's.

Pros:
- Saves username
- Extra B/P or depositing
- Extra posts when applicable

Cons:
- People can abuse them

I think alts are good, simply because I woudl venture to say that there are way more "good" alts then there are "bad" alts. A few assholes shouldn't spoil the benefits for everyone.

That makes a lot of sense. There really is no reason for anyone to be upset over it. It is a rare occasion that there is a problem. People using ALT's to post in the forums while banned for example. I know of cases of such things happening. So it is not a problem to have your ALT's known? I know Bahumut displays his two in his sig so I am assuming it is not a problem.

I do not think I would ever need to go that route. i have enough trouble keeping track of the personalities I have without letting them roam free on Newgrounds. It just wouldn't be fair to all of you to unleash that kind of mess. ^_^

That is not a bad idea. I have never changed my username. I have thought about it, but I wouldn't even know what to change it to. That is the other problem with me making an ALT account, I would have no name figured out.

These are two big ones that I would really like to start over. My first few months on NG I missed out on b/p and depositing. I did not do either of them really at all because I did not fully understand the process. It would be nice to be able to start an account off the right way. B/P and level the way I would like to. I regret starting this one off that way, but I cannot make up for lost time.

There have been times I wish I was able to do so. Especially sig making. It can make it difficult to get everything I would like into four posts in a half hour. Photobucket has helped with that though.

I guess I do not really think about how many alts are out there. I guess there is no way to estimate. It would be quite intresting to know how many there are though. I do not think you are venturing down the wrong path there. There probably are more good alts than bad and there is no reason for one to spoil it for all. I have seen things like that happen far too much. I guess there are more benifits than i realized.

I appreciate that sir. As i said, I have been wondering about it for a while. Your post was of course extremly helpful. It answered everything I needed to know.

I guess my biggest concern is that i will not be able to put in as much time as I would like to an ALT. The B/P and the depositing would not be too much trouble, but I know the forums and clubs would be quite difficult to keep up. I seem to have trouble keeping up with the forums now. I may just make one. i had considered starting it on the anniversary of my account now. 7/20/06 will be my one year anniversary. I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens.
