Space is not the only factor in a server. I configured a Dell server a couple months back that was $26,000. Depending on the hard drive configuration you need, the space of the drives, the speed of the drives, how many processors, which processors, ram layout, etc....you can run over $100K for an insanely fast server. For a site like Newgrounds, you need the absolute best to handle the traffic's processor and bandwidth needs.

Or, you can be like me and make a Slackware Linux server out of my old computer that's probably worth no more than $200 now:

Asus A7V-333
Athlon XP 1700+
512MB PC 2100 Ram
Nvidia GeForce 4 Ti4200
Western Digital 20GB HDD @5400rpm

...and it's just as fast as I need it to be. Then again, right now, I'm only hosting SSH and am going to soon be hosting freeNX for remote desktop into KDE. Ahh, Linux...how well you treat me.

I know it's kosher, and it will always happen all the time, but is it really fair for people to deposit by proxy? If someone can regularly gain EXP without visiting the site, then what's the point of even having an experience system? VP might as well be based on sign-up date.

And a word on levels. If they're gonna insist on crappy weapon after crappy weapon, it would be nice if we could choose from the crappy weapons we've aquired thus far.

Some nice ideas here! Basing the VP on the sign-up date would be cool, but maybe we could add the number of days on NG to the equation of the voting power. So the exp and b/p would still count partly. And idea of choosing a level you already passed is very cool to. Maybe you should post this in the NG evolution thread...

Sounds unfair, I know some people who joined in 2001 and have never come back. How is it fair that they get such VP?

I don't think it's crappy, sure they insist on melee I wouldn't call it crappy. Crappy would be would be level 3-8 as they are more or less the same but once you go to 10-30 it's much better.

I just noticed today that you were right when you told me not to deposit for 40 days, I thought you were just making some random number but we are actually exactly 40 deposits away from each other heh.

I dont know if I will get much B/P tonight, I either am going to put a full day in and more (it is friday =P) or am going somewhere which will make me gain 0 for whenever I am gone heh.

Actually it was involving the lacrosse team it seems some of them threw a party had some strippers come over and ended up raping of the girls. The lacrosse coach resigned and the season was suspended.

I know that Eagle has a policy of not whistling resubmittions unless they break other rules. Sorry for the triple post. But what I heard was the some lacrosse members were involved when an exotic dancer was raped. All the evidance is showing that those lacrosse morons indeed raped the bitch. The coach resigned under the pressure and the season has been cancelled. In simply words, Duke is in deep shit now.
