It’s been a while since I’ve been in the portal. Can anyone fill me in on the updated rules of flash submissions now? I can’t seem to find them.

Are actual live videos of people doing things permitted still? I’ve seen a couple and I’m pretty sure Numa Numa was a Newgrounds original. Most of those submissions are usually bad, though.

I’m never really sure what to blow my whistle on anymore. I got this whistle back when they had the thread in WI/HT where everyone was whistleblowing things.

The specific rule that covers live-action states:

"Our focus is on animation. If you want to try live action here, it must be a short film with legit production value and preferably some animation component done in post production."

In other words: we don't want Newgrounds to be overrun by crappy TikTok dances and kids making fools of themselves.

This means live-action is sort of allowed if you do something really cool with it, such as a 'Roger Rabbit' styled film where cartoons interact with the real world, but not rely on it in order to upload a new video every day like on YouTube. This also means the Numa Numa video (where the author was just using his arms to dance) was technically against the Guidelines and thus it was removed.

Examples of live-action done right on NG include MUTT and CHOPS or WILLY THE WHIZ-KID

Even the 2nd Annual Tank Awards video could possibly fall under the 'legit production value' umbrella.

A personal attack is mean spirited and more finely focused on an individual. Foamy gets razzed every once in a while and he's still here. Hasn't been offended and stomped off; he can take it.

I've taken similar jabs towards other creators, usually in a more mocking / satirical way. It should be fine.

However, the most recent entry is a little gory, maybe change it from a T to an M, but other than that, all good. Just vote on whatever you think it's worth like you would a normal animation. (but since he passes every time, the best score would be around 2-3)
