But action still hasn't been taken on them, despite several other reported submission being unlisted. Same goes for other submissions. I recently stumbled up on this which contains a huge amount of medals. Medals?! OMG, MEDALS! Should I be playing it instead of reporting it?
Am I doing something wrong, or is it a matter of how many people report said submissions? I genuinely want to improve my contribution to the moderation.
Copyrighted music doesnt need to be reported here. It can be flagged and we'll get to it. However, there's a fine line to walk here.
It would be all too easy to remove everything and have nothing left. Like a cop who stops you for speeding, maybe you'll get a ticket but maybe he'll turn a blind eye and you'll get a warning. Although you deserve a ticket, it's always nice when they pass you by. Small 10 second clips of a song are less important than a full song. Songs from old, obscure entries are less important than a full song from something at the top of the charts.
A lot of good content was removed back when lawyers started getting picky. But, when your mom tells you to clean your room, you clean the floor, hoping she'll be satisfied with the work and leave you be. But, you know you still have all that stuff under the bed that you hope she doesn't call you out for. There are some submissions still around that we hope never get, oh look, a pony!
That's why certain things don't get an immediate 4-alarm call out. Some things need to handled, and some things can be an enjoyable secret and catch a blind eye.
