Well Spretznaz I'm not too sure who was SunriseKingdom before? I have seen loads of accounts of this page, but I don't think I recall that name. It does get confusing I do read about what maybe may be a Spam submission. I do miss the whistle feature though the flash mod do seem do deal with those flashes quickly. The redesign was over 4 months back I was checking my old posts.

He constantly submitted games that had no variety, looked like they spent 10 minutes on each, and slapped ads onto all of them. I don't know exactly what happened, but I don't think Wade was sure for a time if it was shovelware or just some 8 year old kid.

They probably only make 20 cents on a game before it gets deleted. I'm not sure exactly how much the ad company gamesgrow uses pays, but I do know mochi pays about a dollar for every 1000 views. They're hardly making anything here, so what's the point?

Why do you think they keep mass spamming this stuff for? One it is Free to upload stuff, and even if they only make a little bit of money before it is deleted it is still a profit. Also don't forget that the Admins don't always get everything right away. Plus if what you saying about the views is true all they would need to do is use f5 to up the views so they can gain profit.

Even if it's a profit, I don't think that a couple cents a game is economically viable. What these shovelware sites are currently making here is so little that I don't see any reason they have to continue. And I don't think that they're F5ing them, because I've never seen abnormally high view counts when compared to other new submissions.

It should run well on Windows, Linux, or Mac though. Requires Java to run (which you should have anyway). If anyone's interested in checking it out, I'll supply a download link below. They made a thread in WI/HT awhile back asking why their previous account was removed. Me and I believe SpiffyMaster answered and I even advised them to make their own content... seems they don't think they need to follow the rules of not uploading shovelware content.
You know what is funny about this as well? I think they did that just for the attention nothing more. But on a serious note I wish something would be done to keep people from mindlessly passing this shit. I mean come on their are deletion/ Shovelware tags on these yet people still vote them to pass. Sad part about it is even if this stuff is deleted the users who mindlessly pass this shit through still keeps their save point from it while the users who vote to do the right thing gets punished.

Nicely done. I had started on a java-based solution myself, but this is just as functional, very neat and compact, and works quickly. Would you be willing to share the source code with me? Then maybe as a collab we can add more features (like keeping track of what the user has already voted on, how long the flash has been under judgement, etc). Don't feel pressured to do it if you don't want to - either way, it's a nifty universal tool that all stat-whores can enjoy. Well done!

Thanks for the link SeeD419 I had forgotten about PortalGuard I remember wanting to use it before, but I had a Mac then. Even though I have been using windows now for two months this reminded me I can now use it cheers! Anyway I will download it soon. It is annoying that account gamesgrow keeps making alts he needs to be banned for good. I hate how those accounts don't care about the site

You're not the only one. And since I have that option set off, I think it's just the flash itself. Judging from the size of the flash, the author and the author comments I don't think it was meant to be something serious.

That it has, that it has. I've had an interesting month in between my 21st birthday, leaving college and taking part in The Game Jam it's been quite hectic and to be honest I've spent the vast amount of the time getting rather intoxicated but I hope that this didn't effect my work in The Portal too much.
