Excuse me, the guard at the gate told me to come here and talk to you good chaps! No, I'm here in my civilian capacity, representing Wikigrounds, not in uniform, as you can see.
Visitors are always welcome. Allow me to introduce myself - I am Supreme Commander ByteSlinger, Barracks Recruitment Officer (and unofficially the Dark Queen Over All That Is Not Linux). The barracks commander is Supreme Commander EagleRock, who will most likely add his own response to this post later, and then chide me for that "Dark Queen" remark - but that's another story.
I say, its rather smart in here- just as I imagined, a decent picture of the Commander-In-Chief on the wall and some spiffing awards the regiment has won over the years... I say, they go back a bit. 1777. Good Lord, that was a year! What flag is this then? a bit torn up, of course, but properly repaired. I am sure it saw some splendid action in the field...
I see you've found the sitting room. Most of that stuff we found in the attic, but it looked nice, so we had a few of the Privates clean it up and do some redecorating. Care for something to drink?
...Yes, please. Tea, if you don't mind, milk and one sugar...
I'll get PFC ThePigeonMaster right on that - after he finishes up cleaning the latrines. Don't worry, he's wearing long gloves. They're made of red silk with ostrich feathers, and they really aren't waterproof, but he says it "makes him feel pretty". Go figure.
...Now, to business.
Oh, wait - this is serious?
If any of you felt like telling the world about yourselves, you would be most welcome to create a page on Wikigrounds
Well, we do have our own website, www.eliteguardbarracks.com
It is Crew month on Wikigrounds at the moment, but we so far only have pages about Flash Crews, not BBS Clubs.
We would appreciate some facts about who you are and what you do with appropriate links and some kind of Pix.
I just checked out the site - I can see it's still in beta, and the first question that comes to mind is: If someone from the EGB creates an account and edits a page, what prevents someone else from altering it? I edited a random page without even logging in - that's not very secure!
Quite frankly, between our website and our own BBS, I don't think we need any more advertising. But I will defer to EagleRock, as it is his decision to make.
Thank you for your time, gentlemen.
You are welcome. BTW, I'm one of the few women of the EGB, for the record. Just so you know...
