I shit you not, Wade hardly ever responds at all to anything sent to him. And by that, I don't mean replying with a message back, I mean deleting the flash.
Seriously, we had this one impersonation account stealing games from another site a while back. After PMing Wade twice (and I'm sure I wasn't the only one sending PMs over him), and getting no response for a month, I PMed Tom and within 12 hours the account had been deleted. And it's not even Tom's job to delete shit like that.

By the way, and this comment is directed at anyone and everyone, has it been decided on whether or not I'm in the crew or not?

It's in the final stages, but the discussion is still ongoing. Sit tight and EagleRock and / or ByteSlinger will tell you either here or in a PM.

Alright, thanks. And yeah, I'm surprised Wade didn't do anything about it but Tom did.

Well when it comes to Chuck, it seems like he's just another run of the mill troll. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and not put him in my whistling guide. I say this because it seems like he's trying to do good, but he just can't get out of his noobish habits.

However, if he makes another submission like that or anything of the sort, then he's on the guide.

If they do it once, they'll probably do it again. Regardless, giving people the benefit of the doubt is always required.

I totally missed out on voting this guy in. Hmmm, and that was one of my favorite parts about this crew. Sad news for myself indeed. But, congrats on you getting to make it into this wonderful crew. How about you be a pal and give me a foot rub? Before we make you scrub the toilet and toss our salads.

Thank you, I'm very excited t-WAIT, I get to toss YOUR salad? I don't see how that's really a punishment. Thanks sounds like a hell of a lot of fun.

This video is just a flashing screen with "Kitty Krew" flying around. Not against the rules, but in the author comments, they tell us to vote 5 on the submission. Should I whistle it?

No, it's completely OK if the author says "Vote 5". Even if the flash is spam.
It would be against the rules if actually the author wants the flash to be BLAMMED.

Okay, good thing I didn't blow the whistle on it lol. But why would it matter if it was against the rules to ask for it to be blammed anyway? By the time Wade found out, or any admin for that matter, everyone would have voted 0 for blam points and it would have already been deleted.

Bless the NGPD has reached its 500th page! I remember when EGB had got to its 1000 page time does fly fast. Well post Clock Crew day I did enjoy it more then my first message, still it was slower with submissions. I thought then previous years. I managed to get around 41 b/p 20 less then last year still pretty good. I was hoping for a news post but I saw next years will be bigger ten years. There are some really good quality stuff its quality not quantity which is what counts.

Copy-Paste from the submitting rules:

Do not submit crap entries with the intent to give users "free blam points."
I think it's not a problem if they ask for protection points since:

1) if it's a spam movie the admins will delete it later AND still throw blam points to those who voted 0 or 1.

2) Voting 5 on a submission is like a compliment to the author and it's very easy gaining protection points, as you already know.

By the time Wade found out, or any admin for that matter, everyone would have voted 0 for blam points and it would have already been deleted.

The flash was already blammed. And another reason of why it's not bad saying to vote 5 in a submission, is because if the flash is a piece of shit, it will be blammed anyways. But if it's something obvious like:

Title: Blam this!!! / Free Blam Points!
Comments: Vote 0!! / Blam this!!!

... is against the rules ;)

Well it turns out that I will get to keep my Saturn. My Dad and I thought that something in the engine was about ready to blow and leave me stranded on the highway. Turns out it's only the A/C and air compressor that have been knocking around under the hood.

My Dad is also going to get it into the automotive shop at school this week so they can work on the front end alignment. I'm not saying I don't like the 91 brick red Chrysler Plymouth Acclaim he got me when we thought the Saturn was on the verge of death. It's a nice car, but it's got less get up and go than my Saturn. It's slightly bigger, but the odometer doesn't work and it has no tachometer.

And of course my Dad and I figure out what's wrong with my Saturn after we get the Chrysler into a car wash and vacuumed out and parts of it are waxed and the vinyl has been armor all'd. @_@ Ah well, I like my Saturn better. Sure the plastic on the inside is no longer connected to the body and water leaks through when it rains, and the windshield is cracked, the upholstery on the ceiling is covering part of my rear window.

BUT!!!!

My Saturn isn't leaking power steering fluid like the Chrysler is. Sure the Chrysler doesn't have those small problems that my Saturn does, but those are a lot better to deal with than a power steering fluid leak.

Excuse me, the guard at the gate told me to come here and talk to you good chaps! No, I'm here in my civilian capacity, representing Wikigrounds, not in uniform, as you can see.

I say, its rather smart in here- just as I imagined, a decent picture of the Commander-In-Chief on the wall and some spiffing awards the regiment has won over the years... I say, they go back a bit. 1777. Good Lord, that was a year! What flag is this then? a bit torn up, of course, but properly repaired. I am sure it saw some splendid action in the field...

...Yes, please. Tea, if you don't mind, milk and one sugar...

...Now, to business.
If any of you felt like telling the world about yourselves, you would be most welcome to create a page on Wikigrounds
It is Crew month on Wikigrounds at the moment, but we so far only have pages about Flash Crews, not BBS Clubs.
We would appreciate some facts about who you are and what you do with appropriate links and some kind of Pix.
Thank you for your time, gentlemen.

Visitors are always welcome. Allow me to introduce myself - I am Supreme Commander ByteSlinger, Barracks Recruitment Officer (and unofficially the Dark Queen Over All That Is Not Linux). The barracks commander is Supreme Commander EagleRock, who will most likely add his own response to this post later, and then chide me for that "Dark Queen" remark - but that's another story.

I see you've found the sitting room. Most of that stuff we found in the attic, but it looked nice, so we had a few of the Privates clean it up and do some redecorating. Care for something to drink?

...Yes, please. Tea, if you don't mind, milk and one sugar...

I'll get PFC ThePigeonMaster right on that - after he finishes up cleaning the latrines. Don't worry, he's wearing long gloves. They're made of red silk with ostrich feathers, and they really aren't waterproof, but he says it "makes him feel pretty". Go figure.

...Now, to business.

Oh, wait - this is serious?

If any of you felt like telling the world about yourselves, you would be most welcome to create a page on Wikigrounds

Well, we do have our own website, www.eliteguardbarracks.com

It is Crew month on Wikigrounds at the moment, but we so far only have pages about Flash Crews, not BBS Clubs.
We would appreciate some facts about who you are and what you do with appropriate links and some kind of Pix.

I just checked out the site - I can see it's still in beta, and the first question that comes to mind is: If someone from the EGB creates an account and edits a page, what prevents someone else from altering it? I edited a random page without even logging in - that's not very secure!

Quite frankly, between our website and our own BBS, I don't think we need any more advertising. But I will defer to EagleRock, as it is his decision to make.

Thank you for your time, gentlemen.

You are welcome. BTW, I'm one of the few women of the EGB, for the record. Just so you know...

Actually, I believe that is against the rules too:

Artists should not beg for high votes. If a comment reads "Vote a 3 or higher and I'll make more" or something similar, we will most likely delete it. Also, ploys like "Vote a 5 if you support Napster!" warrant deletion too.

It would be against the rules if actually the author wants the flash to be BLAMMED.

I also believe this is not a black/white rule. Sometimes users may upload a wrong animation or a wrong version of what they wanted to upload (they uploaded a crappy version instead of the final version of the same animation), and therefore may want it to be deleted. I believe this is one exception to this rule.

However, flashes that's like Blam Point + 1 breaks the rules for sure.

File swapping is when a user puts a decent flash (sometimes a stolen one) to pass under judgment, and then replaces the decent flash with something completely different from the original flash (usually a very bad/rule-breaking flash replaces the decent flash).

I actually posted an example of a flash that was file-swapped at the top of this page. The flash was originally a guide on how to pirate flashes from Newgrounds (so that people will vote 5 for learning how to illegally download .swf files) and now is replaced with a lame scene creator game after it passed judgment. There are more extreme cases than that though. Usually it's the reverse; where a non-rule breaking flash is posted and then after it passes judgment it is swapped with an offensive submission.

So, if you're looking for high-quality FLashes to raise your Protection point count, it's often worth it to examine the high filesize flashes. Of course, these can also just be lousy movies with some music or a different type of animation that results in the high filesize, but these are exceptions to the rule, not the rule itself.

Umm... I'm not the one to make the call here, but we vote each flash accordingly on their quality; not making judgments on file size or any other stats and vote based on that for B/P. That is not fair to the author at all.

You also encourage people to uncompress their audio (which is what the administrators DO NOT WANT to happen).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

****QUESTIONABLE FLASH ALERT****

Ok, even though I'm Lt. PVO, I always question about what I should about these types of submissions. Should I blow the whistle for advertising or re-directing? I need some genuine help here!

That only applies if the author tell us that in a way of threat or condition. The comment of the flash scarface posted said: "My first flash! Vote 5!" He's not saying something like: "VOTE 5! VOTE 5! VOTE HIGH! PLEASE!!!!! OR ELSE I WON'T MAKE ANYTHING ANYMORE!"

Wishing for getting high votes and begging for them, are different things. I know it since in my sprite movies I wrote at the end in some of them similar things.

I dunno who told you that flashes that do either aren't abusive, since it's written in the submission agreement:

- "Your movie must not simply be an ad for your site."

And re-directing is the same as auto-spawning pop-ups (read: the very definition of "malicious" on the whistle section itself), as far as my understanding goes. The fact that this was flagged isn't surprising, if what you're saying about it is true.

Response to The Elite Guard Barracks 2010-08-19 23:08:38

Well see the problem was that it states in the FAQ, no AUTO-redirecting. That is what was getting me all irked and irate. Thanks for clarifying that Sheiz. Really, thanks man. :)

While I appreciate you trying to help people out, I don't like non-members speaking on behalf of the EGB. Also, saying "we" is misleading, as you're acting like you're a member here when you are not. The EGB has had problems in the past with non-members speaking on our behalf and mods holding us to blame, and I don't want to see any repetition of it. Posting any malicious Flash you find is always welcome, of course, but I'd appreciate leaving questions posted to this club to the members. Thanks!

Besides, this thread has been rather quiet lately, what happened? Usually there's at least a couple posts here every day. Your recruitment was rejected due to a lack of quality in your BBS posts and reviews. However, we are willing to reconsider and allow you to re-request recruitment in the future if you improve the quality of the aforementioned items. The Recruitment Officer (EGSC ByteSlinger) has given specifics about this in her PMs. If we made anything unclear to you before, I do apologize, and hope everything's cleared up. If not, you can feel free to PM either me or Byte with other questions. Also, I'm usually available on AIM as well.

Pimp is now level 60! amazing actually since it took him over a decade to get there. I remember when he was level 30. I think the old levels were cool but took ages to get to the next one. I have seen level 60 but its a level I doubt I would reach. I would have been level 47 by now. By the way cute picture of your son PantyWipe. Madness day is soon.
