Wow, not a single peep in almost 12 hours! That's a first. Guess I'll start something then. Anyone notice how busy the portal has been the last 2 or 3 days? It really picks up around 5:30 EST and gets busier as the evening wanes on. You think this might be the preparing for this year's Pico Day? I know it's still a month and 4 days and 3 hours and 43 minutes away.

We kicked your butt once before, and it was your dear old General Robert E.Lee who finally wised up in April 1865 and surrendered to General Ulysses S. Grant. (side note - and this is really gonna make you steamed - I can trace back my family lineage to General Grant, and I am considered a DAR - Daughter of the American Revolution). The south should never have tried to break away; instead, they should have tried negotiation and growing up a little bit. You guys had the temper tantrums that forced the start of the Civil War, and we had to slug it out for four years until you realized how dumb it really was.

It's all about being UNITED - and when you start posturing about "the south" and chasing away Yankees, all you're really doing is perpetuating the ignorance that brought this country to its knees. Come on already - we've been a country over 230 years - don't think it's about time ALL of us acted like adults and moved on already?

We don't need to give up our heritage, our traditions and our values - but we do need to give up the grudges that hold us all back, and teach our children not to make the same mistakes we made.

Anyways, how's everyone been doing? I've been lurking lately, but haven't seen anything I felt compelled to reply to. You guys know how it is. I think my super busy period is finally over and I can go back to getting on NG daily again, which is nice. As of 3/10/10, I am officially a civilian. Done and out of the Army and moving on. My girlfriend and I are living together in Ohio now and I feel happy again for once. This is my first experience living with a girlfriend though and it's super weird. Probably just growing pains, but still annoying. Haha. Definitely good to be back though. :)

This is the 3rd odd little hentai game I've seen in 2 days now. There's nothing wrong with it in-and-of-itself, but I'm not liking the link the author puts in the comments on each of them (it's a pretty obvious referral / malicious link). Also of note is the spammy nature of the comments and the fact that he seems to insist on submitting each one with a new account, making me think some part of what he's doing is wrong, and he knows it:

I did a little investigating on the link, and it takes you to a sharing site and in order to download the games, you need to fill out a quiz or a survey to unlock the download. And we all know what happens when those little quizzes or surveys are filled out, SPAM OUT THE WAZOO! As well as a nice hole in your wallet where your money used to be. I didn't finish the quiz because I knew what was coming.

I say we keep an eye on her.

I have gotten a few blams recently I would not say that everything passes. But I don't really spend that long on the flash portal maybe less then fifteen minutes or so. I have more saves than blams, but I vote on what I think a flash deserves. Looking at those hentai links the author comments are spammy, but maybe its okay a one to keep a eye on.

I mean that it's not contacting the NG servers. I can vote, move about the site, etc. just fine and dandy, but blowing the whistle is a bit difficult right now. It's really irritating.

One was "Through the Looking Glass", which was, of course, from Alice in Wonderland. The different dimensions and alternate personas certainly do bend through the surreal, and sometimes you're just not sure what reality REALLY is.

The other is from "A Scanner Darkly", a sci-fi book from Philip K. Dick (which was made into a crappy movie in 2006). In this book, the protagonist becomes his own antagonist due to a drug abuse issue that, ironically, he's trying to stop. The drug splits his personality into the "cop" and the "druggie", and depending on which one is dominant determines what he perceives and remembers. It shows how a basically "normal" guy under the wrong circumstances and influences can become both a hero and a villain at the same time - which is an underlying theme in my story as well.

In addition, the concept of a "dark mirror" infers that what you see is not a true reflection of what really is to be seen - and that, by the nature of darkness, is something a bit more insidious.

So, that's how I came up with my title. But, you had a good guess there!

Now, on to Chapter 23 (under construction) - working title: "Unlearning and Undoing"

Who really is sure what anything is anymore these days? Hell, just look at the new healthcare legislation recently turned law. No one, not even CONGRESS knows just exactly what the fuck it is! The only things I do know is that in order for a dependent to stay on their parent's health insurance they had to have 12 hours of classes is no longer in effect. That got annoying real quick.
