Thanks! :-D I'm looking forward to meeting all the new members like yourself (well, new to me, anyway; I've been gone for a while). From the looks of the roster, prior posts, and the forums, I'm going to be seeing some familiar faces, too, which is always a treat as well!
My net was down for today, Apparently paying my bill early made the planets align which immediately cut off my satellite television, landline phone, and internet.
But it was just under 24hours, so I almost didn't go crazy.
Yeesh. Sounds like a bonehead maneuver that Verizon would make. Still reminds me of when I signed up for FiOS, and it took them about 15 phone calls and almost a month for me to be able to sign up for their service. Yep...sign up. As in, I called up saying, "Hi Verizon, I have my wad of cash right here I'd like to give you for your business. Can you please let me give you money?" This was difficult. I swear, the things I'm willing to do for a fast Internet connection...
Either way, at least you're back up and running on the good ol' InterTubes.

Way to stop by when no one else is around. But good to see you sir.
Yeah, I tend to do that. Of course, I'm not one for the big grandiose "ZOMG IT IS ME" entrances, so it all works out. Besides, I'm too busy at work to post during the day, so you'll really only see me around at night for the most part (except for weekends of course).
It might have underlying tones of actual racism, but most of the racism that the internet puts out is to be "edgy" and "cool". /b/ on 4chan is a prime example. I doubt that many people are racist, but the board freely uses the n-word and expresses a lot of hate towards blacks.
This is very true. /b/ is fun to look at, isn't it? Sometimes it feels like overseeing an anthropological study, till I remember I'm one of those people that spend their time on the Internet as well...
And there's the shock/anger value that most spam groups are looking for. Racism is an easy way to get people mad, which gives the spammers attention, which is what they want.
Again, very true. Once you put it this way, I guess people are just trying to illicit large reactions from this stuff.
Finally, there's the majority factor. Since a majority of the people going to these sites are white, they feel that they don't need to respect or hide their hatred towards black people.
The anonymity aspect of it doesn't hurt, either.
Also, whatever happened to that Counter-Strike NG story thing?
Funny you should mention the story. Actually, finding my old story files on my laptop was what brought me back, as it reminded me how much I love this place and that I wanted to finish the story. Problem was ALL of the important notes I had for that story were writted down on scrap paper that I can't find. It had all the information about everyone in the story and what my plans were for the next matches and stuff. While I still remember how it's supposed to end, without those notes, I basically wouldn't have been able to finish the story without those notes.
So, I spent a good amount of time searching for those stupid notes and finally acme across them just a few minutes ago. Now, I just need to decipher what they say, then I'll be good to go... :-) But yeah, I do want to finish the story, and I'm going to keep the time frame back when Newgrounds first did its site renovation. I'm going to want to make some changes from how I was originally going to end it, but I think you should still be in for some surprises. Even if the people that are currently members of the Barracks aren't part of the story, it should still be fun to look at when we first dealt with the site renovations :-)
Oh well. I'm getting tired, and I'm ready to hit the hay. I'm going to bed, but I'll be on tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to plug away at my story some time this week so I'll have a couple of chapters ready by the weekend.
Gnight everyone!
*salutes*
