Good luck. My current goal is to leap over Yoink (formerly known as GreenVein) and alexsmolik to achieve the 36th spot (36 is my fave number), and sit there for awhile cause there's a bit of a gap to #35. And Master Sergeant will follow soon afterwards.

Depends on what kind of FF fan you are.

Tactics was something I always thought looked cool, but I wasn't playing many games when it was out, and so I didn't pick it up till a couple years ago. It's pretty cool, but it's not exactly a real FF.

My first FF was FF 1, way back in 1987-88, a year before I actually moved to Japan (where I experienced a bit of FF3, the ultimate FF, though untranslated, so I just enjoyed the battles and airship and so forth of a friend's game). Of course, my next real FF (I never got that fluent at Japanese) was FF4 (i.e. 2 in America) and then FF6 (3 in America). I loved all three, but FF1 has pretty much always been my fave.

Now, of course, in the past 6 years or so, 7 8 and 9 came out for the PSX. I got the PSX just for 7, in fact. They're okay FFs, but... I tried FF5 on an emulator, and I tried (and eventually beat) the original FF3 on an emulator as well. 1, 3, and 5 are definitely the best.

Okay, all that said, FFOrigins consists of an updated graphics version of FF1 and FF2 (japanese... probably the least played FF game in America, and certainly not that outstanding, I only played it a bit on an emulator, not that enthralling, but I'll give it another shot when I'm done with FF1 again). I know there's also an FF anthology with FF5 and 6, I think, and maybe a FF4 and Crono Trigger disc as well?

So my question is... where's the FF3 remix?! Goddamnit!

The new graphics are pretty cool, though the purist in me has some major problems with changed item/weapon/armor/place/enemy names. But overall, this is pure FF1 goodness with extra benefits (a bestiary containing every monster you've fought, stats on it, and a counter of how many times you've killed each one... a list of all treasures and locations as you uncover them... a better world map... and tons of sketches and pictures by Amano, the conceptual FF art master).

It's a beautiful beautiful thing for an early (i.e. NES, not SNES or PSX) FF afficionado, such as myself.
