I can't speak for all the members, but I do know several have withdrawn from voting for that very reason (e.g. _redruM_). Voting in every election is not a mandatory part of being a Wi/Ht Member. As you realise, voting on who you think is most appropriate for the part is pretty redundant when you don't know what's been going on. I myself didn't vote in the last election even though I HAD been around, simply because I could not make up my mind on an outstanding individual. It's not as if completely inactive users come out of the woodwork simply to cast an uninformed vote, either.

I'm not saying every single vote is just and fair; I'm sure your concern isn't without a solid foundation. However, if that's the only thing that worries you, perhaps you should reconsider your position. I doubt the issue is as bold as you take it to be.

If this is the case there shouldnt be any need to worry because if i remember rightly we set up a system whereby your voting power was more or less judging on regular and rare your appearance on the board is, However this system may not be implemented currently as I have been away for so long it may be something to take up with Recon or Gfox, as they handle everything while I am away.

Maby we are due for an election, but then again if you look at the wi/ht members list the distance between each new member has gotten further and further apart. but maby thats just because things arn't like they used to be and it's alot of hassle to get all the votes in etc.....

That is true, I did long ago, I wasn't as active on the bbs back then, plus I had other reasons at the time, there were only like 7-9 members at the time. I like the role I play now on this forum.

Well that is not what I ment at all. My choice was for my own reasons, made before a lot of the current active people where even here. I wasn't even a mod then. Heck it was even before this current system. By role, I ment how I choose to particpate in this forum.

Yes, what you said isn't that hard to do, and is done by many users every day, but that doesn't make the Members list any less great. The requirements aren't much, but the real achievement is shining out and getting voted before and above the dozens of other great users, not just being a helpful, responsible user alone.
