Doesn't your province have leash laws down there? If yes then report the owner for being negligent. You've been lucky so far Alkador, but what happens if some little kid wanders into this dog's territory?
That was my second thought. Here are ideas I have generated:
1) I have a device that scares dog due to an impulse of super sonic waves which they do not like, scaring them. If it comes near me, I'll fire the sound at the dog.
2) When I was built up and angry, I usually imagine the worst case scenarios. I imagined what would have happened if I was bitten, I would have lodged a personal complaint to the owner, suggesting this and if that failed the council. I would have mentioned that the fact that children and elderly are not as fast on bikes or even feet. I was scared to think what would have happened if it saw me. It doesn't look at the book, it looks at my eyes. It really does hate me.
3) As RC has suggested, feed it some treats. It may make the dog like me, but it's a matter of getting it to like me in the first place. And it will only work for me.
4) The rival newsagency I'm working for suggested for me to throw rocks at the dog. I know cats hate that, so why not dogs?
5) Change rounds or not deliver to those houses. I can't hold it off forever.
6) Carry a large stick with me ready to use the next time we meet. ie. 10 feet long stick.
