It's kind of odd that I'm in a bad mood, considering the fact that I made five new friends tonight ... somehow I ended up as the life of the pub this evening when it's never mattered before. Ummm John3 13:1? Is that some new book I don't know about?
Kind of annoying that they are constantly making all of these finds, all of which are declared heretical, yet somehow this heretical Essene sect that created the Dead Sea Scrolls is somehow OK. The Nag Hamadi was my favorite. My running joke on it is that the Vatican needed to hear only five words translated in order to declare ALL of them heretical ... "The Gospel According to Mary."

Which? I prefer foul-weather myself. I get teased mercilessly by them when thing are OK and I consider it a small price to pay for them being around when I need them.

I've read it. As a novel, it ... oh I don't know ... lacked something; too much spent on the guy-girl thing maybe. If he was going for historical fiction he whiffed in a horrid fashion. And, btw, that wasn't much of a joke. The Essenes were already a heretical Jewish sect before they wandered out into the desert. Everything you know about angels? That's from the Apocrypha ... a group of books the elder Jews wouldn't include in the Torah, kind of like there's a few dozen books the Justinian Council chose not to include in the Bible ... and even in the Bible there's a dozen variants on what's "allowed" in, depending upon whose version it is.
Everything that's "heretical?" It's even less than the Cabalas reasoning ... the only reason anything gets declared heretical is because it recognizes Christ as the supreme God (Christ ain't God is heathen, not heresy), BUT does not recognize the supremacy of "Holy Mother Church."
There was ONE crusade conducted on European soil. I presume you've heard the phrase, "Kill 'em all, let God sort 'em out." Bishop Arnald-Amalric said, "Kill them all, God will know his own," in Normandy. And who was this incredible heretical menace to the Roman Church hiding in, of all places, France? The Cathars. The next hand a Cathar raises against anyone in anger will be the first ... and we're counting back 750 years now.
And what was their "heresy?" God can be found within you, you do not need priests to find him.

Whole bunch of religious history
Ay caramba. Somebody's read up on their history. Me, I'm not the religious type, ya know? I've seen and heard of way too many instances of religion leading people the wrong way (Christian - Crusades, Muslim extremists - 9/11) or abusing their trust (sexual abuse scandal). So I'm just going my own way. Let the religions do as they please, but I don't feel the need to be told what to do and what to believe by someone who thinks themself better than me. As a closing remark: notice how most religions believe that if you're a non-believer, that you're going to Hell? Looks like we're all damned, then.

You really don't want to know what I'm reading then lol One of them's been giving me fits, so I'm "down to" three ... One of which is The Philosophies of Liebniz (again) so you might have an idea what I'm trying to hammer through (again) lol

It's not just history. SUNY Stony Brook was actually on my list of possible colleges as it was the ONLY college in the country that (at the time) offered even a minor in Economics, Political Science and Theology as a combined course grouping. Theology has usually been the excuse, Economics the motivation, and Political Science the justification for the wars that have occured ... why doesn't anyone offered a combined doctorate?
As a closing remark: notice how most religions believe that if you're a non-believer, that you're going to Hell? Looks like we're all damned, then.
Never forget ... you can always be "redeemed" ... even if they have to burn you at the stake to do it. As a devout Christian or Jew, walk into the home of a Islamic and ask for fair treatment as you are fellow "People of the Book." You'll get it.
Now watch a Muslim try that with a Christian or a Jew. Allah help them if they try it in Idaho ...

Yeah, it's just turned into a spam/popularity fest IMO. I once thought (when I first started posting here) that this place was freaking awesome. Cool people, cool conversation. Everyone responded to each others topics, whether relevant to level-up's, or not. Just a fun, cool place to hang out with people who cared about one another.
Now, the only big thing that REALLY bugs me is the fact that certain people just don't give a shit about other people's posts. They come in, post a few selfish posts, and then leave. I know there aren't any rules, so I can't blame them, but I refuse to say any names. I just thought that we were all like "Buddies." I know it sounds weird, but that is the feeling I came to associate this topic with. Now, it just makes me not want to post here that much anymore. I do check each page everyday for cool, relevant content, but it has just gotten so shitty lately.
Just to clarify, I am not mad because of the amount of posts. It is just the fact that I would rather see this thread have 10 new pages everyday with cool and interesting material posted then a half a page of shit.
I thought people were trying to convince me this thread hadn't turned to shit.

Yes, I just took a look. Seems you are up there! Your protections even outnumber my blams. Good job!
I thought you'd had a good time last night.
Well, there were actually two nights that were incrediblely awesome.
First night was Friday night when Enoll and Bob were DJing. That was fun as shit. I had a permi-smile on the whole time. It was really fun to listen to them and they did a hell of a job DJing. Grats ^_^ I actually had the radiogrounds radio on the whole time! (Well, except when my comp crashed :x ) I wish that, 1. I could actually listen to someone DJ anytime of the day/night, and 2. That I could help keep the music alive by DJing myself. That would be so much fun :) I just wish I had a more reliable computer. Bob also did an incredible job too. I felt so bad for him when he got tired. I could hear it in his voice. I finally said to him, "Dude, GO TO SLEEP!!!" haha...
...and I thought the only Mod who ever banned me was going to be a jerk...
Haha...he is now on my "Top 20 Favorite Users on NG" list. So much for my former theory...
Second night was Saturday night. My band, Random Access, played in Georgetown, DC. We had the most energy I have ever experienced before. My neck hurts like a bitch still...and it probably will for a while...oh well, I can live that :) All my friends were blown away at our performance. You talk about a milestone? That one show, right there. HUGE milestone for us. The next/current step for us is to keep on building our "fanbase". It all takes a lot of work, and believe me, it is worth it.
What's been dragging you down mate?
Well, after the show, I literally passed the fuck out a half hour after I got home. I then had to get up to go to work today. Did not want to, but I need the money...so off I went.
I worked my fucking ass off for 12 straight hours. At Outback Steakhouse, all the servers run the food. So we end up carrying about 100 trays of food a day. My back kills me at the end of the night. So, after I get underappreciated by about half my customers who don't realize that we get paid $2.38 an hour for waiting on them hand and foot, I walk out of there at Midnight with a grand total of $75 dollars. Big fucking whoop. Hell, I could beg for change on the street corner for 4 hours and get more money than what I got today. It's just not fair.
Then I get home, and think to myself, hey well at least I got NG. Then I see that there is a total of 2 semi-replyable posts in this thread since I have been gone...man, that just pissed me off to no end.
There are about 10-15 people here who I can say are the reasons that I have been coming here everyday for the last 6 months. You all should know who you are....and yes, even j00bie and Bonus...I consider them good people. They maybe young, but all in all, they are good people.

I have concluded that, at least for tonight, I will have my Aura set to Dark, and the saying in my sig will not change until Tuesday.
Thanks for caring, James.

To a degree that's always correct ... after all, if you're acoming in here to mention your rank/level/post/whatever you're attention whoring. I'm not as guilty of that as some, not as much as others, but no one here is innocent. Heh, I always snag my nieces back to reality on that one ....
"But but but I didn't do it, I'm innocent."
"No one is innocent. Now, whether you're guilty of this is what we're trying to find out."
"I hate you."
Now, the only big thing that REALLY bugs me is the fact that certain people just don't give a shit about other people's posts. They come in, post a few selfish posts, and then leave.
There's a very small number of people like that. In contrast, there's also a very small number of people, like gfox and I, who will make the time to go back through 10 or 30 pages of thread and make comments as applicable. I'm ~20 or so behind at this point ... I still may or may not make the time to do it.
I resurfaced last week to make a comment about that Verizon shit (finally) being resolved. Was it selfish? Fuck yeah lol I was elated that it was finally a done deal and had to share. I had also spent weeks putting you people through my rants over the crap through which they were putting me, so I also felt I owed it to you folks to let you know that there was a final chapter to it.
I do check each page everyday for cool, relevant content, but it has just gotten so shitty lately.
Heh ... wish I had kept up ... I wouldn't be so far behind at this point lol Kind of makes me not want to bother going back through them ;)

I thought you'd had a good time last night.Well, there were actually two nights that were incrediblely awesome.
First night was Friday night when Enoll and Bob were DJing. That was fun as shit.
I'll have to start checking it out ... I'm an old school techno/hardcore freak so virtually anything that's played on the radio has always been a waste of my time. I was in hardcore pits in LA in 78, Chicago warehouse raves in 88, and München street riots/raves in 98. Throwing bricks at the neo-Nazis while they're throwing petrol bombs at the narnees was a lot of fun ... we needed that counter-strike voice over Head-Shot ^^
I wish that, 1. I could actually listen to someone DJ anytime of the day/night
I stumbled across these people in '85 while I was driving around in Toronto. Here's the fun part. In Toronto they were blocking the station I was trying to listen to, but when I was in Rochester I couldn't get them ... but I could get Toronto stations ... teh fawk? Anywho, I marked them on a dial and oh 95 or so heard one of their station ads that they had a website with ... on-line broadcast. One of the first in the country, actually. Been listening to them 20 years now basically. They've gone downhill IMO the last ~7 or 8, but they've lost they're indie status simply trying to keep up with the broadcast requirements, but still maintain a BOCES type affiliation. You can actually call the DJs up, even at one of the local high schools, and get them to play (if they have it) a song you want to hear. I keep making them dig out Nina Hagen, Laurie Anderson, Skatellites, etc. The old DJs like me, not the new ones lol. Anywho .. tune in at 28k or 80k. If those links don't work directly, just hit the site and click a link.

I sang the happy birthday for nothing? :(
but my newgrounds account anniversary.
Oh good, I guess the song still counts. You only get one of those per year, so live it up... on the internet (?).

Yes, go Ozcar, but I would still rather have one mod from a different time zone than ten from the same time zone.
Yeah - both new mods join the ever increasing ranks of US/Canadian mods. The only non-US/Canadian mod I can think of is Jon, but European or Aussie mods would be useful too... I made a thread about this in General but nobody really cared :(
I think in everyone's opinion (that probably sounded wrong, but I'm too tired to care) that was just spam. I don't want to think about a possible 800th page situation.
Imagine page 1000 :o

K, I admit that I am one of the people who does that :( I do try to reply to people's posts, but it's hard when there's so many new posts everyday.
I know there aren't any rules, so I can't blame them, but I refuse to say any names. I just thought that we were all like "Buddies."
I know what you mean. This is the only place in all of the NG BBS where people actually recognize me regularly. I've met a couple of regulars in here, too..
I know it sounds weird, but that is the feeling I came to associate this topic with.
K.
Second night was Saturday night. My band, Random Access, played in Georgetown, DC.
Your band?? Shit, I didn't know that! Christ, that raises my opinion of you a hell of a lot! (Although it wasn't low to start with) I've only heard What It Takes To Heal, but I still think the music is awesome. Good job! :D:D

I have concluded that, at least for tonight, I will have my Aura set to Dark, and the saying in my sig will not change until Tuesday.
K, I think we all need to listen to some Bob Marley and chill out a bit.
I just leveled up!!!! I was kinda sad to lose my barb-wire glove, but that's ok. Now I can Hit em with a bat!!!
