It's the fact that you have come to this thread 4 times, post something completely irrelevant to our conversation, then leave. Having no regard for what the users here are talking about.
Just because it's not relevant to a conversation that may be going on doesn't mean it's out of place in this thread. All of us regulars have posted a rank up at some stage or another. I don't see you complaining about gfox announcing his level up when it had nothing to do with Bonus depositing for carmel. You can't expect everyone to put their two cents in and then go "Oh btw, the real reason I'm posting is to announce my achievement." That's just a hassle.
Well, even though you used my disconnected-from-the-rest-of-the-convo level up! post as an example, I wholeheartedly agree with your message. One BBS user cannot be treated with a completely different set of standards than another, especially in this wonderful topic of ours. We must embrace the same things or shun the same things from different users, in general at least.
I would just say that if RedCircle, or anyone... has a problem with a noob who only posts 4 times in here over the course of however long a time period (a year, two years, whatever it was)... and never seems to come back and reply to replies or appreciate the congrats he's given for his accomplishments or whatever... that you simple don't congrat the person! There's no need to put down their accomplishment as "too minor" to say anything about or whatever. I mean, hell... Yoink's level is far superior to mine, but does that mean he scoffed at my level 17 rankup as beneath him? Nope, he congratted me the same as all of you who have a lower level than me. :::shrugs:::
Anyway, I think that's a good policy. If you respect a person who posts a level/rankup post in here, then congrat away. If you don't, then just don't reply. There's no need to say something negative in place of a congrats, after all. It's the ol' "if you can't think of something nice to say to someone, better to say nothing at all than something mean" policy that is followed all too rarely.

You say regulars. They have earned that respect.
So everyone who posts an achievement here for the first time has to be shot down until they're a regular? o_O
Well, *I* certainly was shot down when I first came to Wi/Ht?, SO I SAY HELL YES!!!! #;-}>
Heh, but of course I wasn't... I was greeted here as a fellow NG fan by my fellow NG fans, and rapidly included in the group. We were smaller back then, and perhaps it was easier to accept new people, especially when they post as long and non-nooby posts as me (WINK), but just because the BBS is overflowing these days doesn't mean we have to "guard" against newness. Just respond as you feel is necessary, but preferably with some measure of politeness, and ignore those you feel should be ignored.

Congrats also thought I would be congratulating MPA today but I guess not. Wonder why he suddenly stopped.
He stopped what? Thanks, man.

Congrats to gfox on owning the bronze gauntlet of doom.
Thanks, jon.

Congrats to Gfox for getting a level up, i guess it wont be the same with you now at the bronze gauntlet, but we can get used to it :P
No kidding it won't be the same. Okay, now you're the fourth person to say something like that. Heh. Any bets on HOW LONG it will take most people to get used to it? Then bet on how long it will take ME to get used to it. #;-}>
Thanks.

Congrats, you have the first fist icon that actually looks good. It will take a while to recognise you... who am I kidding? Your posts are always long and full of info, it would be impossible to miss you.
I consider the boxing glove icons "fist" icons as they do represent fists, albeit covered (so do the gauntlets, though), and I like how they look, so I wouldn't call 17 the first "good-looking" fist icon. I'd call 10 and 12 that, and then 18 and 25. 17 is probably 5th in terms of fist/coveredfist levels in my book. But it's okay. I'll get over it sooner or later.
And a bit after Christmas, I'll be hitting 18's silver goodness, so that'll make me quite happy indeed.
hahah, thanks for the vote of long-post-chock-full-of-info confidence. #;-}>

Congrats gfox, looks a bit weird to see you with the bronze glove instead of the nunchaku, you'll be having a fist for a while now...
No kidding. You're now the SIXTH person or so, if I missed any others, to say that so... come on, people, lay down those bets about everyone & me getting used to it. #;-}>
And yep, a fist for probably 11 months or so. It took 4 months to go from 16's start to 17's start, so say almost 5 months to 18 (like I said, a bit after Christmas and the New Year, methinks.. 8/22 to 1/11ish...)... and maybe almost 6 months from 18 to 19 (maybe 1/11ish to 6/30ish... just in time for my 28th birthday on June 30th, 2005! Woo hoo).

The little meanie head :(, he just wanted to act as he was to good for Wi/Ht not the forum OH NO, but the club yes :o
Heh. Pretty much. #;-}> But in all seriousness, it doesn't matter to most of us whether someone's in the "club" or not. I mean, have you been made to feel unwelcome? I certainly hope not. And I don't reply to your posts any differently than I do to a longstanding member's like say leeboy's... or to a new member like MPA's or Qwoxy's, so... Eh. I thought it'd be cool when Spancker asked Joe to join us, but when he said no, it wasn't like some crushing rejection or something. He still hangs out here, and that's what counts.
Heh remember gfox i didn't get all my site knowledge on the first day, by the time i started looking at top 50 b/s users, ramagi had started again :)
Ahhhh. Well, she wasn't moving between December 8th or so 2003 and erm... sometime around the start of spring. At least 2 months, maybe closer to 3, can't recall.
