I can understand the feeling. If you spend enough time on these forums you begin to relate to some of the people eventually. In that case moving ahead of them in the ranks is kinda like hurting a friend. But I just consider it to be all in good fun, after all It's just numbers essentially.

You'll probabily be ahead of me by the end of the week by this rate. I know we're both only creeping along, but I had a fairly good day today, but I've got tons to do later on this week so I won't be on here for very long.

Okay, so my accomplishment is small... but I just popped in to say I made it to lvl 4. If I would have known sooner that depositing points actually does something, I probably would be closer to where I want to be. I REALLY want to be lvl 12. That is my goal. A lot of you have already surpassed it... but I still just want 12. I was wondering though... I've been looking at people's exp points, and I'm really confused. If you can only deposit 10 points at a time, how do so many of you have wacky numbers that aren't divisible by 10? Does it like change when you get to a certain level?

Supposidly there used to be a way to deposit without getting the full ten. Also, there used to points given for referring people to NG.

Upon account creation, there are various boxes you can enable for +5 exp bonuses. Also, back in the day there was a glitch, which gave all the users odd numbers of exp (this was a very long time ago). There have also been other systems designed to grant users extra exp, but all have been removed due to abuse.

Yeah seems like you know what it's like :-D I may not have related to many, but i have related to a few, so that's good enough for me to know what it feels like. Yup you got it. Hurting a friend is the worst thing that i can do as a person because i haven't got that many, so i think you can see why i don't like to hurt anyone and if i do i really don't do it again. True, but it's competative numbers :-P

Wasn't a glitch, there was just a different way of depositing way back then. And congrats to Earfetish on the level up.

There were actually both. The old system of depositing up to 11 experience... And occasional glitches that screwed up the amount of point you deposited.

I only started depositing a few months after they got rid of the whole "up to 11 exp a day" thing and just went with the "Vote on 5 submissions and record your 10 exp" thing. And I still ended up with an 8 at the end of my exp one day.

And competition is a good thing, just look at everyone on here trying to level/rank up as fast as possible. It makes for spirited rivalries.

I used to be like 200 points ahead of you but now it's down to like 30 or so. Definately be the weekend you'll be ahead of me.
