If you were a high enough level Pure_LionHeart you probably would've gotten away with it. Mods tend to show favortism towards established members with high level accounts.

INDEED! I was scared a few days ago, though, as HT didn't deposit all day long, and I had to go to sleep. What I was worried about was that if he DID miss that day's deposit, the next day I was going to level up to 16 when I deposited, but sink back to 15 when he did.

But for once, I was happy that he deposited late in the day, because it rescued me from that fate. Instead of 5510/5519, as it'd been all day, it ended up being 5510/5522 as it was supposed to be, and thus the next day was 5520/5522 and then 5520/5526 after his deposit kicked in, and I didn't drop back to 15, I just stayed in it (otherwise it woulda been 5520/5519 = 5520/6258 temp level 16 before his deposit kicked in and then 5520/5522 after it did).

Okay, that's enough confusing level boundary stuff, I think. Needless to say, it was a nice clean level up, and I hit it at 5530/5529 -> 5530/6262. Schweet. #;-}>

i go grammar school so i get a good education all the time so i always get 90's. Not that it is that good.

That's insane, man. One of the best things about rankups is the % bonus to your VP. If you have 1.20 base VP or whatever, your VP at EGSC is going to be 1.92. That's horrible. ;_;

Couple things I wanted to clarify here:

It's not really about level, but more about how well the mod knows that user, or the user's reputation in general on the BBS. Level shouldn't have anything to do with it, as most mods don't judge on that.

Secondly, if it's me handing out the bans for people posting in a spam topic, I hand them out to everyone, as Wade's rule about that says. There's no exceptions. So I really doubt that if the mod who banned LionHeart had known him/been impressed by a higher level than he actually has, he would have "gotten away with it." I can't speak for all of the others, but with me, regulars might get 2 or 3 days in banland for such a thing, and noobs might get 4 or 5 days. Depends on what the actual post was like, too, but what I'm trying to say is that favoritism, in me, is almost always expressed through ban lengths, not through whether the ban happens or not.

Straight 'A's in English, P.E. and Art (actually I received a 'B' once in English). Math was my major dilemma. I averaged a 'C' to a 'C+' most of the time. It wasn't that I couldn't understand the concepts (algebra etc.), I just found numbers to be incredibly boring (bloody math class would put me to sleep). Words are much more fun to play with.

Well, this is gonna be post number 5800, and I'm gonna be done for the weekend.

First off, though: Dogma, I just read your post in your list topic... and yeah, I figured out what you meant by the teasing when I saw your post in the VP list topic. For some reason, I thought you were talking about something going on in the SAME topic, not another one. But anywho! heh.

I gotta drive teh 40 miles west of Houston to my parents' old place in an hour or so, try to avoid rush hour by making it out before 4 PM and taking the HOV lane.... then help my dad load up a moving truck... drive it with him 200 miles to my 'rents' new place north of Austin... unload it... he's got to get it back to Houston by 4 PM Saturday to avoid paying for a second day... and then I'm spending the rest of Saturday with my sister, who's leaving for 6 months in a few days, so... spend some time there, maybe go see Kill Bill 2, her, me, and my gf. Dunno if my mom will want to see that one. heh.

And then Sunday I'm driving my sister's car back to the old house cause it can't be left at the new place all summer long with her being gone. So... lots of fun tasks and some actual relaxation, but mostly heavy lifting and moving truck crap. I'd rather be sitting right here, but oh well, some fresh air and muscle-using is always good for a body. I'll see everyone when I get back Sunday evening, I HOPE. But what usually happens is that so much posting has gone on since I left that I really don't feel like catching up right when I get back, and a few days go by, and then wham, all of a sudden there's 5+ pages of level up!, and plenty of pages of all the list threads to catch up on, and noob question topics created right after I left town are halfway down page 2.

I really hate that. heh. So I'll try to get back on teh BBS ASAP when I get back. LATER, ALL!!! Have good weekends!
