What do you mean, lightning? O_o I wasn't on the BBS at the time, so I wouldn't have shown up as online there, but I was still in the portal, voting. Of course, I'd probably hit some of them on Sunday before they got whistled, but it never hurts to be careful! and I believe it worked out well in the end, probably snagged a good 40 points.

or what? Rushmore certainly has a very unique editing style compared to most movies. I love the way, for example, Bill Murray trips over a fence while spying on the female teacher and quickly jumps up.. a quick jump cut by the editor... makes it all very surreal and nifty.

And I just love the plot and characters most of all. Teh greatens movie. With a wonderful soundtrack, too.

I spend way too much money watching movies, don't you think? Oh well, as long as I'm enjoying them, it's not a waste.

Oh, I dunno about that. Movies aren't the most expensive form of entertainment ever created, and they're certainly worthwhile and enriching, for the most part. Books are cheaper, though, so read some books if you feel like you're spending too much on movies. #;-}>

As for the flick being filmed in your hometown, it really is a small world, isn't it? A couple of movies were filmed in my hometown too. If you ever see the upcoming flick, I, Robot, you'll see a couple of scenes filmed just down the hill from my house.

Wow, I am an incompetent film enthusiast. Oh well, as you've probably guessed by now, the answer to your question is 'no'. However, The Royal Tenenbaums has been on my list for a while, but keep in mind, it's an extremely long list. I need to get my friends to stop recommending so many movies to me. I used to read a lot, but I find it easier with movies than books. I know that's a poor excuse, but as of late, I've been getting more and more stressed and I've had less and less free time. I'd rather have a story told to me over a period of two hours than read every single detail about a story from a book that demands my full attention for five or six hours. Maybe I'm a slow reader, who knows? Of course, that's not to say that I don't read at all. I just prefer going at my own pace. I'm a procrastinator, remember? But yeah, right now, I'm working through Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. Actually, I think you'd like that book. If you ever come across it sometime, pick it up and just read the first chapter or two. It's more of an epistemological essay than a real novel, but it's interesting nonetheless. It's sure to be more entertaining than updating more of those lists you keep doing. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

Actually what happened was, when the profiles got updated (4:30AM my time) I had ONE less b/p than James0, keeping me at #82 and him at #81. I've since then passed him, so i'm technically #81 now.
