i really want to hear from the high level poeple too!

i'm the longest level 9 to 10 EVER.
by the time i get to level 10 i will have ben at level 9 for 3 months :(

A month? Little over a month, somewhere around there. It was only about 300 exp between levels back then so it was much easier to level up.

I was gonna say it took me around 45 - 50 days before I reached level 10 (I even missed a few deposits back then). Hey Joe, if someone was to reach level 9 with tonight's deposit how much experience would they need to reach level 10 at this point in time?

Well... The amount needed to get to level 9 is 400, right? Just look at a level 9 to see how much they need to get to level 10. "???/1,110" 1,110-400 = 710. So that's 710 exp from level 9 to 10.

So the bottom line here Joe is the longer you wait to start up a Grounds Gold account the tougher it becomes to increase your level right? When do you figure the increment from level 9 to 10 will reach 1,000 points or more?

not fair if geting to level 10 takes me 3 times as long as you how bad will the rest of the levels be?

Well once you get to level 10, the number of points needed to reach the next level goes up everyday, depending on which level you are. I only gain 8 points on the amount to next level half of the week and the other half I gain 9. I'm sure you're aware of the humantarget effect.

Well, if I remember, it was about 945 exp required to reach level 10 last April for me.

As for me, I plan to go on a B/S spree next year, since the system is Fixed!

Congrats Gfox, it won't be long now untill half of the top 50 are all egsc, that's why I have a feeling they will make new badges some time, so don't stop geting those blams and saves!

Yea dont feel so bad - i have been coming here for the longest and i finally decided to make an account and start posting. One of my first few posts were right here in this club and i was able to become part of. I watched this site and when i made the move to sign up and post i found out the hard way of how many points and posts i could of had - but somethings arent when you want them and they come when you need it, so my time is now, and i will enjoy it the best and most i can.........

Those who can see the invisible can do the impossible. I had a lock on his location at one point X but he went and changed his password on me. Now he seems to be letting his account do a major backslide. I was willing to deposit his experience for him until I grew tired of this site but there's not much I can do for him now.

Don't remind me. I still think The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King is much too overrated. I mean, there were a lot of categories it really didn't deserve to win for. The important part is that the movie itself, and the trilogy itself, got recognised for being something other than the latest cult sf/fantasy movie by the Hollywood establishment. It has earned respect mostly due to the billion+ dollars it has brought in, but also in part for how damned good and enjoyable it was. The academy gave it some props... no problem there.

I seriously think that a lot of those awards were given to them just because it was the Lord Of The Rings trilogy's last year in the Academy Awards. However, that's not to say that all of the awards they got were undeserved. Best Art Direction and Best Visual Effects were both dead on. I'm just pissed that they got everything else. Oh well, at least Sofia Coppola got Best Original Screenplay. I haven't lost all faith yet.

You really woulda rather seen them win just art direction and visual effects? No offense, man, but that's ridiculous. Look, I know you didn't grow up reading the LOTR books (hell, I didn't read 'em myself until I was 20), but a lot of people older than you or I did, and they happened to love not only those books but also Peter Jackson's remarkable effort, for the most part successful, in getting them to screen.

I love Lost in Translation too, but the simple fact is that it took nowhere near as much work as LOTR did to make, and it wasn't anticipated for half a century like the LOTR movies were. 11/11 is great, but if anything, I'd say the entire LOTR trilogy was underrewarded at the Oscars. The first year it got tons of noms, but only a few wins. The second year, I believe it went 2 for 6. Horrible and definitely not representative of the actual film. And the third... no best supporting actor noms for Ian McKellen OR Sean Astin?

Say what you will, but I firmly believe this was a great day for film. I can't wait for the extended editions, and hope they're not going to wait till November to release them (since there won't be any new film in December, there's no need to, anyway).

Well, I have no idea.

See, I signed up on Feb 18th, 2000. And from then until December 2002, I deposited very rarely. I only visited NG once or twice a month on average. All I know is that I was still level 9 (just barely) when I started coming to NG every day and depositing every day and then getting b/p and posting and all that. Back then I just reviewed a couple flashes about 9/11 and played some flash games and that was about it.

SOOOO... I can't say, but it may have taken a year or two years to get from level 9 to where I was when I started depositing every day. And then it took me like a week to get to level 10 from there. #;-}>

That's not counting the amount added by HT's deposits, though.

While not great for the level 9 -> level 10 stretch, I'd say it'd be more like 750 exp in the end.

Thanks! Ehhhhh... I may be tempted to do that someday. But the need to rankup again hasn't hit me yet like it seems to have called to Crono. You have to keep in mind that all my general rankups took a month each, more or less, and the EGSC rankup took 42 days. I don't think I'll be feeling the itch for ranking up till April or May... and besides, I do have some people-passing to do, and that's a delicious substitute for someone who hasn't passed anyone but thisisasignin (who wasn't moving) in the past 3 months! #;-}>

He seems to want to delay it a bit, having been at 30096 for a long time, and now moving up past 30200... but sooner or later... Crono, provided he doesn't decide to not let me, I shall pass next... #5 and #4 would both be nice. Joe is way up there, so I'm in no rush to catch him. And ramagi, of course, is at my favourite b/p number of all time, 36,000. So while I can say I'll definitely one day reach and pass that number, I can't say for sure whether I'll cross 40,000 or not. Maybe so, maybe not. Depends on how much pressure there is from people coming up from behind, really, and whether new ranks are ever introduced. #;-}>

I just made an animation of the four general badges and the EGSC badge for my profile pic. I love the EGSC badge, but I missed the green laurel wreaths from the General badges, and this gives me a way to not only green up my portal a bit more than my aura can do on its own, but to pay tribute to my favourite ranks in the b/p system.

So, it's set to be at Brigadier General, Major General, Lieutenant General, and General for 2.5 seconds each, then to end on EGSC for 5 seconds, and of course repeat...

what does everyone think? Too long between each badge? Should be equal instead of SC getting twice as long? I tried 2/2/2/2/2 first, but it seemed too quick in the SC part while looping back to BrigGen, and didn't really show which badge was the "main" one if you know what I mean.

So, if you like, let me know what you think of it. I'm not gonna screw with my sigpic right now, but I didn't feel the need to just stick with a static EGSC GFOX badge for my profile pic.
