Nah, I wasn't tracking this back in the 00s, if that's what you mean. I started tracking it mostly because the main time of year I drop by NG as of... 2008? 2010? 2012? not sure when it happened exactly... anyway, obviously at some point I kinda fell off the site but I always at LEAST came back for Clock Day.

August 15th was already a memorable date to me because it was the date my first longterm srs bsns gf and I got together back in the 1990s. So once I was on Newgrounds in 2000 and once I really got into it in late 2002 and was around for my own first Clock Day (the 2003 one)... the August 15th thing was like... oh, ANOTHER reason for August 15th to be special/stick in my mind, sure sure. :D

August 14th was good this year for me. Just got a replacement car yesterday for the one that was totalled in a car accident last month. I mentioned this already in reply to a post and in reply to a comment on my profile newspost (as I comb through these notifications... 120 or so?)... haven't gone into detail on it yet and I'm trying to get to the poooorrrrtaaaal right now, but mebbe later. I'm okay, though. Car wasn't. rip old car. ;_; But hey, new car is good... I GUESS. ;)

EZ! Since I save so rarely during the year nowadays, I just look at my profile before I start voting on clock day flash... like say... right now... and it shows I have 36000 blams (good, good, that's normal)... and I have 35360 saves (ahahah, that wasn't on purpose, I promise! what an awesome happenstance! #;-}>

So I just open up my CD19 text file, I save it as a new CD20 text file, and I start putting in new data over last year's data. So now the "next time on" becomes the "previously on" and such. The "final saves" from last year's CD is now the "current saves" from this year. Unless I actually VOTE DURING THE YEAR SOME, then it's higher. Eh. Very rarely these days.

Anyway, I usually wait till I'm done voting on CD flashes... and if there's CD flashes past midnight, aka really on the 16th, I do probably count those, too. It's Clock Day WEEKEND this year, bitches! YEAH! ^_^ Look at the saves count on the 17th, 18th... guess you can even go to the portal and make sure none of the under judgement stuff is still greyed out (as in you visited it/voted upon it)... wait till that's all gone and you've got your final number for that CD.

My sleep's been weird the past year or two, though. Sure, most of the time I stay up past midnight, maybe fall asleep at 2 or 3 AM usually. Sometimes, though, I get really tired and pass out at like 8 or 9 PM, wake UP at 2 or 3 AM, go back to sleep at 4 AM, etc.

Eh. I'm a big fan of napping, too. Napping helps the nighttime sleep being fucked up not impact me as much.

My sleep was never that weird, but as a kid/early teenager it always took me a long time to fall asleep. And I got up pretty early too. 5 to 6 hours a night was plenty for me. Since a few years I fall asleep really easy (most of the time) and in comparison, I like how it is now, it's much better. But I can't stay up as long as I used to. I fall asleep before mod and get up around 8, 9 in the morning on a weekend. Just like some old fart, lol...

Summer has hit here as well. It's 6pm and it's still 30 degrees (Celsius, of course). What the fuck man...

Mine's more just getting tired in the first place. a 24 hour schedule doesn't work for me. Every night I'm off by a bit, off by a bit, off by a bit. I'm probably actually from a planet with a 26 or 28 hour solar cycle and this 24 hour thing just isn't working for me, hence I stay up later and later by nature.

I can sleep with noise, with lights on... my wife's the opposite. Goes to bed at almost the same time every night, but can be woken up by the slightest noise or by lights on (not just in the room she's sleeping in, I mean--even in the hall/bathroom, coming in under the door, through the outside window, etc.).

I think I meant to type too, not 2... but 2 works as well, becuase this season is breaking a lot of records from 2005 (year of Katrina, ofc), which was the previous truly crazy hurricane season in the Atlantic for North America. So... in that light, that year was #1 and this year is #2... gonna get all the way from A to Z (well, A to W... in 2005, they stopped the A-Z at Wilma... then it was greek alphabet after that. was just reading on wikipedia about it... freakin' 6 more storms AFTER W. alpha beta gamma delta epsilon zeta... fuckin' A).

I am very sensitive when it comes to noise. Heavy breathing is enough to keep me awake. But of course I can fall asleep in front of the TV with no problems, heh. Light doesn't bother me so much. My wife doesn't like new surroundings. She needs some time to adjust to a different room, so whenever we are traveling she has a hard time getting enough sleep.

No hurricanes for me, no earthquakes, very low chance of a flood. I think I found a pretty safe spot to live.

Jeez, hope you're alright man. For both parts, that is. I know how vast Covid has been in America so I have thought to myself those I know over there I hope are staying safe.

As for me, to summarise myself in this year. All big plans of course went out the window including gigs, Comic Cons and my big 30th birthday party (but did a smaller celebration to compensate). I was lucky to have been able to stay in work through all of lockdown so that was some boost in savings while I couldn't go out anywhere to spend money but did take this time to invest further in my CD collection and even start collecting vinyls.

Still living in the same place for three years but my ultimate goal is to eventually get on the property ladder and get myself a house someday.

Crossed 175 fans after the whale I mentioned earlier got put on the front page. May also be my fifth art submission to be frontpaged but I'd have to double check.

Thanks, but originally I didn't get that much involved in the portal, in the past few years. I thought that I would get this rank by 2022 (it was a report of a NG login from 2016, before the redesign of that website). What got me quick b/p points (but surely and slowly at the time) was organization, using the mobile device a lot more for NG, and setting up a goal for how many points I can get in a day. Do this every morning, noon, and the evening to get here with the last b/p rank. So that I got it, I might as well contribute to the portal while getting to level 60 at the same time.

Eerie that you should make a DS9 reference to me right now of all times, btw. After only watching some of it live back in the mid-90s (mostly season 1+2 while TNG was still on as I was a big TNG fan)... once TNG was off the air I was primarily an X-Files fan while at college and wasn't really watching much DS9 (or Voyager beyond maybe checking out the pilot ep?) or Babylon 5 until my wife got me to watch most of it with her in the 00s...

Anyway, after years of thinking about doing it one day (and watching occasional TNG/Voyager re-runs on BBC America since like 2015 or so... for some reason they never did DS9... maybe didn't have the rights to it?) I finally decided that what I really wanted to do was watch DS9 from ep 1 to ep 176... and my wife and I did so from May 4th (Star Wars day, yep! ;D) till June 24th on Netflix.

Not only that (it was awesome, btw! loved it, see why a lot of Star Trek fans love it most... not sure it can top TNG in my heart, but maybe it does in my head now)...

... but then my wife and I went ahead and watched Voyager from ep 1 to ep 172 from June 26th to August 25th (aka yesterday). Epic. ;D

And while I've seen all 178 eps of TNG at least once, many of them 2 or 3 or 4 times before, my wife says she's only seen about 50%, so we might go ahead and do that next. 176+172 is 348 eps of ST we've just binged in 4 months... if we do 178 from TNG in 2 more months or so, that'd be 526 in half a year (!!!).

Gotta remember they reuse the list of tropical storm/hurricane names every 6 years, too. Every even-numbered year is A C E G I K M male names and B D F H J L N female names (such as Gonzalo/Hanna back in July and now Laura/Marco in August). Odd-numbered years the opposite, ACE etc. female and BDF male.

And only a truly damaging/noteworthy storm gets the name retired/removed from the lists, otherwise it'll be used again in 6 years. But when they are removed, they gotta pop a new name in there. So that's 6 male and 6 female names for every letter... and then reserve ones to add in case of retired names, too!

Ye Olde COOP 53 83 loverboy is the biggest MIA user, IMO, that I haven't talked to in years. I saw a post from him somewhere just an hour ago and checked his profile... his latest post was in 2014. Then again, so was mine. So... guess that's not that telling on its own.

MWAHAHAHA! I was wondering if you'd forgotten Clock Day, you seemed awfully absent while I was on the portal and on the forums 2 or 3 times that day. I was hoping to be on more, I missed so many saves on the big flashes of the day from the actual crew and all. Got about 75 saves, way down from the 150 or so I got in 2019 (albeit some were from the 16th+17th that time, I went on a 3 day voting binge!).

Aye. I just covered more of the aftermath and financial crap from it in a reply to an iscrulz reply in my profile news post, btw, so I won't repeat all that junk here.

But I will just say about the accident itself that... I was going about 20, 30 mph through a fresh green light in downtown Houston when I had less than a half-second's warning something was up, just a flash out of the corner of the eye or whatever... and a car that ignored/missed the red light from like 4, 5 seconds prior slammed into my passenger side door at 35, 40? mph t-boned/broadsided/call it what you will me.

She was okay (just hit my head-on with her front bumper), my car got spun around about 180 degrees and slid halfway down the block from that intersection... so I was bruised up from my seatbelt but mostly okay... my car nearly hit some homeless people on the sidewalk under the freeway overpass, it was a rainy morning and they were all taking cover from the rain there. Only the curb stopping my tires prevented my car from being flung up on the sidewalk and possibly knocking into some of them... very fortunate... Um... what else. Oh, and I had just dropped my wife off at work about 8 blocks before then, so it's a damned good thing, as since I got hit on the passenger side... couldn't even open the doors on that side, she mighta been pretty damaged, legs/right arm/head. Very very thankful I had dropped her off and she wasn't still in the car, above all else.
