Well, there are many people I'd like to hear from again. Coop for example.
Aim for the top! Always aim for the top!I'll forget even aiming for #1, though. I know they all say to aim for the top but for the EXP rank? Maaaaybe not that.
Yeah, even if everyone would stop depositing right now it still would take years. I'm surprised I even made it to the Top 80.
However, what really brought me to this place is the fact that by moving in, I'll be living in the same block as one of my best friends. I've had many times hanging out at his place for drinks and smokes (but none of the latter anymore due to recent quitting) so I've even felt home there and now I can get to live not in that very flat but as a neighbour to it!
That's pretty cool. When I moved out it wasn't too far away from my mom and my dad also lived nearby. Then my brother moved in a few streets down from my block (later, I moved into the same street, lol). And one of my sisters-in-law also bought a house very close by.
I can't say how the other tenants are but the fact that I've got him as a neighbour is a step up by lightyears from the chavvy twats that I've had for nearly 25 years now.
Many flats would be way better if other people didn't tend to be so annoying. First flat we also moved out because it really became unbearable. First there where some kids on the 8th floor (and we lived on the 11th floor!) who kept the whole house awake by listening to loud music all night long (LITERALLY all night long). Took quite some time to finally figure out where that noise was coming from, so we could finally complain to the landlord.
After we got those two idiots quite, the neighbours right above us would start listening to loud music, running around, singing karaoke (and singing BAD) way past midnight. I think it was a three room flat, but they always had like 20 people up there, with little kids. What the hell?
I remember one night on 24th of Decemer I went up and asked if they could turn down their music, as it was already 4 am. Ok, they agreed (after some discussion with a heavily drunk guy). But guess what? On the very next day, they started blasting their shitty music at full volume again? Are you fucking kidding me?
I finally called the cops on them, that kept them quiet for at least some time. All in all we spent 1 year suffering from loud neighbours, that shit really gets to you.
As for the whole name change, that is something that had been in my mind and admittedly still does so even now. Back in the day it was more due to being bullied over my name in school which lingered on for a few years after I left
Hm. Being not a native speaker I really have no Idea how you could get bullied over your name. I think it's for the best I don't know it. ;)
but nowadays if I really want to have it changed, it'll be more due to finally being sick of all the jokes I get about tennis.
I guess that can get pretty annoying. I share the same last name with someone who was in the news for a few days. An oarswoman who was at the olympic games in London. During her stay there people discovered her boyfriend was in a right-winged party in Germany (and considering the history of this country people still get pretty upset about that, and for all the right reasons, I might add). My mom got some calls from a few press people asking her if she was related... propably because she's only listed under her last name (no address either) in the phone book.
I got one or two people asking me at work if I was related and THAT was annoying as hell. So I can imagine how you must feel.
Also, we should totally hang out one day. I know we came close to meeting up last time I was in Manchester (back in 2012 it was, I think?) but you had just started a job then and didn't have time. It's not totally unlikely that I will visit Manchester again or even Liverpool in the future. ^^Oh totally! I know we only talk to each other on here a few times a year at most these days but if you're ever around, definitely give me a shout! However, I remember how anti-social media you were and quite possibly still are so I can't just tell you to drop me an inbox on Facebook or Instagram when you make plans to come to Liverpool or Manchester.
Well, I do have a fake facebook account for all those sites where you cannot create accounts anymore, but they force you to log in via twitter, facebook, etc. but I don't really use it (plus, I really don't know how FB works, so... ;) ).
However, what I am willing to let you do is simply drop me a PM when that time comes. I'm still depositing on a daily basis (although slipping up here and there now but still doing well nonetheless) so I'm bound to check any PMs I get on here.
I guess that would be the best option. But I still have AIM, ICQ and so on. Even Threema. But no WhatsApp.
I feel I've said more than enough about myself here and how I've been lately so I want to hear how the rest of you have been in the however long that we've not posted here for.
As I've told in another thread already, my wife and I bought a house a few km south of Hamburg. Plus, I got another job pretty close to where I live, so my commute isn't 45-60 minutes with public transportation, but about 15-20 minutes by bikes, so that's pretty awesome.
And... well... we tried to have kids. But it didn't work out so far. :(
And yes, misscarriages suck major ass and we suffered through three already. I guess we where lucky after all that it happened pretty early during the pregnancy and not like after 8 months or so. Plus, miscarriages aren't that uncommon, either. It's just that nobody ever talks about it.
Right now I'm thinking, the state the world is in right now, it's propably for the best to NOT have kids. We'll see what the future brings...
