No shit, I just checked out your account the other day and realized that you hadn't been on in forever. I was hoping there was a way for us to keep in touch and catch up.

In this case, I think its just people asking for their posts or accounts to be deleted that is causing your posts to drop. Happens to me on occasion.

Yeah same here. I know for a fact I hit 16k at least twice. Granted I cut down dramatically on how much I post but yeah.
I kinda stopped caring about how many posts I have after I hit 10k.

Hey all. For any wondering, my wife and I live on like the 4th floor of a condo building, and our car's on the 2nd floor in the garage. Living in Houston long enough, this is--trust me--by design for events such as Hurricane Harvey a month ago. We stayed put for 5-6 days, then ventured out once the street flooding had gone down. All doing well, though my wife has a coworker or two with house damage (those things are on the ground level, never trusted 'em).

Hope everyone who went through Hurricane Harvey along with us, or Hurricane Irma, or Hurricane Maria, or any of the other storms (and earthquakes in Mexico, ay-yi-yi) is doing well and made it through with minimal fuss possible.

... and now, on with ze page 3068 (3069 incoming!) catchup:

Strangely enough, nglogs is something I simply continued doing. Not every day anymore, but at least a few times a week.

... Eh, I still haven't logged in awhile. We'll see, we'll see.

... and me, I'll aim to get a bit up again but maybe not quite into the top 50 again. I was there once, that may have to be enough considering how inactive I am now.
Well, I was in the top 50 for saves for a short while. Maybe I try to get back into it.

Go for it!

... Indeed! All the drama... who needs it, I tells ya!
Worst thing is that when you are young you tend to think you're sooooo smart... But in reality you are just as stupid as everybody else, lol.

Ehhhh, I'm pretty sure that's most people at any age, man. Getting older doesn't really make you magically smart. I mean, you gain some knowledge, perhaps a bit of wisdom. But we're all fallible humans, young and old alike. ;)

Damn, that is way way less than what I remember it used to get. However, the last time I even got any B/P on my account was such a long time ago. Probably like 10 years now.

Yeah, the days of 200+ flashes submitted on CD are loooong in the past. You haven't gotten any b/p at ALL in 10 years? No way.

I'd rather make the mistake on the BBS while writing about it... than talk correctly about it and then fuck up the actual voting.
Too bad you didn't catch onto the mistake right after. You could have edited it out (I keep forgetting the BBS has an edit button now).

I'm not in the habit of using it, either, but thanks for the reminder.

... NEVAR! And if that's the case, it's because of your name change.... everyone loved the dragon! ;)
Touché. I did feel like I dropped into obscurity on here after I moved away from Bahamut. It's a name I've long abandoned and the only times I even have that name around nowadays are my email address (although slowly phasing that out), my PSN ID and Last.fm. I only have it around for those two simply because I am unable to change my name for either of them.

... It's kinda sad that you've abandoned it, man. I don't use gfox everywhere online anymore (I mean, the main things I do lately online are play EVE (where my name is not gfox) and comment on AV Club and Youtube (where my name displays as G Fox in both places, IIRC)... only AV Club recently changed comment systems and the new one (Gawker-style) sucks total ass, so forget that!)... but I also haven't abandoned it entirely. My original online name from 1994 is still pretty much my default online name in 2017. 23 years and 3 months and counting. Sad or cool? Either way, it's somethin'!

... great stuff! Congrats on the moving out, first and foremost... the job secondly... and the smoking/vaping cutting down on lastly. YOU DID WELL! Dragon is credit to team!
Thank you for all of them. It is indeed a lot accomplished in that time and I think the way things are going now, there's still tons more I'll be doing. One other accomplishment I have made in that time is finally getting myself to go on flights again. I went to Dublin last month for a weekend trip and that marked my first time on a plane in almost a decade! It was also my first time abroad since Paris in 2011 so I can only wonder what I'll get up to next year.

Groovy! I haven't flown since 2002, myself. My wife and I visited her mom in NYC shortly after 9/11... it was not a fun flight (and my wife was sick on the flight back... as in, sick before we boarded, sick the whole time, and sick once we were home, not airsick briefly on it), so even less fun. But my family flew so much in the 1980s and 1990s that if I never fly again in my life, I don't feel I'm really missing out. My quota was fulfilled by age 18, I had quite the childhood.

And yes, I did go to the Guinness Storehouse while I was there and I must say, the Guinness was divine everywhere I went. Even the first pint there was like the best I ever had but now I'm back to sub level Guinness over here. :P

Hey, your "sub level Guinness" in the UK is still miles fresher and better tasting than the Guinness we get over here across the pond, so no complaining! But yes, I've heard it's best in Dublin at the source.

Also, when you say Dragon is credit to team, I gotta say... I don't think I'm as much of a dragon fan these days as I was back in the day. They're still awesome but I just lack that fascination for them these days. If not dragons, what animal/creature do I like most then? ....I guess goats... goats are metal!

Well, come up with a cool goat-related name and start going by that. Who knows, perhaps it'll catch on just as much as Bahamut did back in the day. What's that goat-headed deity called... :::googles it::: Baphomet? There you go.

Baphomet even looks somewhat similar to Bahamut, so it's perfect! Not sure if it sounds similar, as I have no bloody idea how to pronounce that one. (Bah-fo-met? I presume, but... not sure)

Anyway, I've deposited 3 straight days thanks to CD17 and I'm gonna try to keep it going a bit longer than usual this time of year for old time's sake. We'll see how that goes, tho. ;)
Hey, just means we'll have you around for a bit longer this time. :P As for me with the deposits, it seems I've missed yet another one very very recently. I knew I forgot one while I was away the other weekend but now I've slipped once again. Dang, I'm starting to get bad with this now. I won't be surprised if this was a missed one from not getting the deposit done before an 11 hour shift at work and then not remembering to do the daily deed at all when I got back home. Ah well, my rank is still secure for the time being if I stay sharp after this.

... if missing one deposit here and there is still a noteable thing to you, then I'd said you're doing fine. For me, the noteable thing is when I DO deposit. ;)

You know you can use the @ tag, right? It's a good way to wake up some zombies. I'll try it now with @Coop! Failing that, I'll give him a shout on Facebook since he has that now!

No, I didn't know that. Newfangled social-media-integrationy mumbo-jumbo, I tells ya!

I'm thinking top 40 once I reach #50. With getting to the top 50, from the looks of things, I'm still a bit of a way off until I'm even there despite being only a mere two ranks away.

There ya go.

... I know it was probably bad having the same name as a famous sportsman, but man... you gotta realise that compared to what some kids go through because of their names, tennis jokes... it could be far, far worse is all I'm saying. ;)
Well, the tennis jokes were after school when a certain tennis player became more and more of a notable sports figure. At least I can say my very own name has trended numerous times on social media.

... After school? As in... in the afternoons? Or you mean once you graduated and were done with school for good?

Either way, sounds like you're implying there was another reason besides the famous tennis player that your name was a source of misery in earlier childhood. What for, then? No obvious jokes made from your name come to mind, like say with Dick Johnson or whatever.

... huzzah, done! Perhaps I should have separated my two posts into one that was all to Bahammy and one that was all the rest, but I did it (as usual) in chronological order instead... meh!

I'm terribly sorry to hear about this.

Yeah. I'm still pretty torn up about the loss. A lot of us are. One of those things where you wish you'd gotten in touch just a little sooner, and maybe they'd still be around. Ruth was one of those people who was always smiling. She never let on that she was depressed. Perhaps that has more to do with what happened than any circumstance surrounding. Once you get to that point, anything can push you over the edge. And besides the loss, she was one of the few people who was genuinely nice in my circle back in the day. It's just a shame.

And you know how it is when someone commits suicide. There will be those who don't know what they're talking about saying that they're cowards, and those who don't know the scriptures they're claiming to believe in saying they're going to bust hell wide open, as if that kind of ideology is going to save anyone.

While I'm here though, my immediate family was lucky enough not to be anywhere near Irma, although pretty much all my favorite places got hammered. I'm also glad to see you're okay. When I saw the news yesterday, my first thought was hoping you were nowhere near that concert.

Friends suicide

I've never experienced a friend who's committed suicide. I've lost people to car accidents and overdoses, but nobody that I was extremely close with. I can't imagine the feeling of losing somebody close like that. I mean I guess I can.. I've lost family unexpectedly. I'm sure it's somewhat similar.

I personally don't count it. It's a whatever type thing though. I do count the patterns though for some odd reason. 3,333 posts, 1,234, etc...

Ah. I was just really excited considering I lost a good 300 posts last month when someone deleted their account. :( Good news is, there was other stuff I forgot I'd actually achieved LOL.

Heavy metal? I'll have to give it a listen some day soon.

Sweet. Metal was the first genre I actually went into as a fledgeling on NG. These days since I scored Kontakt and some good synths, I've been doing commissions, covers, remixes, and originals in that genre. Getting a little more comfortable with it.

Bleh, I messed up on my own achievement. I have a lot of audio review responses. I meant to say that I got my first 100 art review responses.

Ah, same deal. That's even more noteworthy actually. A lot of people don't respond to art reviews!

So if you respond back to reviews? You may get some from newgrounds reviewer #33.

Sure do, unless it's spammy, and even then, usually I'll just say thanks. Reviews are nice. I also return reviews. :P

Also, grats on being in the top 50, on top of that. #53 sitting right here as of @Auz's last update. Speaking of, man needs a medal. Such a nice list. <3

I'm all about personality. I mean, I have the looks and smarts too, but my personality is probably my best feature.

I will say, out of the two of us, you do have the nicer beard. I mean, mine was drawn on by an art major with free makeup, but you can't beat natural. :P

It is. Sort of. I can't explain how I really feel about it. I was confused about why I was grieving as hard as I was. It brings tears to my eyes even now, talking about it. I just had to spend a couple days in prayer. I wasn't even really that close to Ruth, or, well, I didn't know how much she meant to me until she was gone. I wished I had reached out and talked to her that one last time, but I didn't know if it was my place. After all, I was just the one kid that crushed on her a little in school. She was pretty in that girl next door kind of way, one of those girls you'd think was too pure for the world if you ever talked to her. I was almost afraid to sometimes because, well, I was quite a dark personality back in school. She was always genuinely fun to be around.

I still have .wav files somewhere of recorded band practice where you can hear her and the clarinets giggling up front. Never deleted them because it always made me smile, looking back on those days, stuff recorded on the same mp3 player I used to record some of my earliest music, lol. If I find them again, I may just make a podcast memorial.

Neato, what are you studying? My spouse is going to grad school now and just finished her first week of school.

I remember you worked in a retail store before. I forget it's name. The one with the smelly perfume that would make my face itch when I walked by? The one that was really dark inside and nobody could see anything? That one right?

Lulz.

My friend Statwhore... we use to spam the portal together. Because of you I have Turd Award on my profile. I only need a 1st place and a reviewers choice and I have at least one of each!

Ah. I was just really excited considering I lost a good 300 posts last month when someone deleted their account. :( Good news is, there was other stuff I forgot I'd actually achieved LOL.

I think @Murray deleted a bunch of flashes before and I lost a ton of reviews... and he had responded to each. I think that was literally the time that I stopped reviewing for awhile because it was so devastating.

I actually don't like music that much. The only time I ever listened to it was when I was working out. Naturally it curved my appetite for Metal, but I'll go weeks and months without listening to anything for pleasure. I review some on here every now and then, but that's about it.

Ah, same deal. That's even more noteworthy actually. A lot of people don't respond to art reviews!

I go to the art forum, find a newer user who's recently posted a thread, and send them a PM. I agree to review the entirety of their art work for responses in return. 50% of the time they respond to 50% of them.

Sure do, unless it's spammy, and even then, usually I'll just say thanks. Reviews are nice. I also return reviews. :P

Well my reviews are pretty spammy...

I'll always respond to reviews as well. Just stay away from my "art" and "audio". I'll always respond to the movies and games though.

I'm almost done with Pyroscape 4. I'll hit you up when it comes out.

Also, grats on being in the top 50, on top of that. #53 sitting right here as of @Auz's last update. Speaking of, man needs a medal. Such a nice list. <3

Nice, the top 50 will be a nice milestone.

Well... very true... but that being said my beard takes about 7 months to become actual beard. I kind of like the way it looks, she hates it, I hate the way it feels. I've been shaving monthly now.. it's not worth the itchy face. Plus I live in California. If I tan while my beard is thick I have this weird tan line right down my face.

That was fucking sad.

You've really been digging through this thread huh! XD Been a while since I wondered... good to know! Are ye back for good now? A time? All time?

Yeah, generally I'd say don't assume disappeared-off-the-face-of-yer-internet-borders peops are dead unless A) a family member posts on their account saying they're dead, B) you knew they had a terminal illness, or C) they were pretty old and you haven't heard from 'em or heard anything about 'em for decades (not just years).

Indeed.

That said, I did just turn 40 in June, so... time does go on by, doesn't it.

Happy belated Birthday man! You're still young!

egad is the posting rate slow nowdays or are tons of posts just being deleted left and right, eh?

Yupp. For reasons unfathomable people just seem to keep purging their posts; attempting to start fresh, though what's posted is already posted. :/ So much unnecessary statual sacrifice!
