Hey all. For any wondering, my wife and I live on like the 4th floor of a condo building, and our car's on the 2nd floor in the garage. Living in Houston long enough, this is--trust me--by design for events such as Hurricane Harvey a month ago. We stayed put for 5-6 days, then ventured out once the street flooding had gone down. All doing well, though my wife has a coworker or two with house damage (those things are on the ground level, never trusted 'em).
Hope everyone who went through Hurricane Harvey along with us, or Hurricane Irma, or Hurricane Maria, or any of the other storms (and earthquakes in Mexico, ay-yi-yi) is doing well and made it through with minimal fuss possible.
... and now, on with ze page 3068 (3069 incoming!) catchup:

NGlogs... though all 3 of my accounts are at 2011, so maybe I froze it there on purpose. But eh... as long as I'm semi-active every year around CD, I might as well do some logging, try to get to 2222 on all 3 or something. ;)Strangely enough, nglogs is something I simply continued doing. Not every day anymore, but at least a few times a week.
... Eh, I still haven't logged in awhile. We'll see, we'll see.
... and me, I'll aim to get a bit up again but maybe not quite into the top 50 again. I was there once, that may have to be enough considering how inactive I am now.Well, I was in the top 50 for saves for a short while. Maybe I try to get back into it.
Go for it!
... Indeed! All the drama... who needs it, I tells ya!Worst thing is that when you are young you tend to think you're sooooo smart... But in reality you are just as stupid as everybody else, lol.
Ehhhh, I'm pretty sure that's most people at any age, man. Getting older doesn't really make you magically smart. I mean, you gain some knowledge, perhaps a bit of wisdom. But we're all fallible humans, young and old alike. ;)

There were only ~80ish, same as the last two years, submitted on the actual day from midnight to midnight, I noticed. Glad it's kinda steady, at least, but the %age of submissions that was clock-related was way down.Damn, that is way way less than what I remember it used to get. However, the last time I even got any B/P on my account was such a long time ago. Probably like 10 years now.
Yeah, the days of 200+ flashes submitted on CD are loooong in the past. You haven't gotten any b/p at ALL in 10 years? No way.
I'd rather make the mistake on the BBS while writing about it... than talk correctly about it and then fuck up the actual voting.Too bad you didn't catch onto the mistake right after. You could have edited it out (I keep forgetting the BBS has an edit button now).
I'm not in the habit of using it, either, but thanks for the reminder.
... NEVAR! And if that's the case, it's because of your name change.... everyone loved the dragon! ;)Touché. I did feel like I dropped into obscurity on here after I moved away from Bahamut. It's a name I've long abandoned and the only times I even have that name around nowadays are my email address (although slowly phasing that out), my PSN ID and Last.fm. I only have it around for those two simply because I am unable to change my name for either of them.
... It's kinda sad that you've abandoned it, man. I don't use gfox everywhere online anymore (I mean, the main things I do lately online are play EVE (where my name is not gfox) and comment on AV Club and Youtube (where my name displays as G Fox in both places, IIRC)... only AV Club recently changed comment systems and the new one (Gawker-style) sucks total ass, so forget that!)... but I also haven't abandoned it entirely. My original online name from 1994 is still pretty much my default online name in 2017. 23 years and 3 months and counting. Sad or cool? Either way, it's somethin'!
... great stuff! Congrats on the moving out, first and foremost... the job secondly... and the smoking/vaping cutting down on lastly. YOU DID WELL! Dragon is credit to team!Thank you for all of them. It is indeed a lot accomplished in that time and I think the way things are going now, there's still tons more I'll be doing. One other accomplishment I have made in that time is finally getting myself to go on flights again. I went to Dublin last month for a weekend trip and that marked my first time on a plane in almost a decade! It was also my first time abroad since Paris in 2011 so I can only wonder what I'll get up to next year.
Groovy! I haven't flown since 2002, myself. My wife and I visited her mom in NYC shortly after 9/11... it was not a fun flight (and my wife was sick on the flight back... as in, sick before we boarded, sick the whole time, and sick once we were home, not airsick briefly on it), so even less fun. But my family flew so much in the 1980s and 1990s that if I never fly again in my life, I don't feel I'm really missing out. My quota was fulfilled by age 18, I had quite the childhood.
And yes, I did go to the Guinness Storehouse while I was there and I must say, the Guinness was divine everywhere I went. Even the first pint there was like the best I ever had but now I'm back to sub level Guinness over here. :P
Hey, your "sub level Guinness" in the UK is still miles fresher and better tasting than the Guinness we get over here across the pond, so no complaining! But yes, I've heard it's best in Dublin at the source.
Also, when you say Dragon is credit to team, I gotta say... I don't think I'm as much of a dragon fan these days as I was back in the day. They're still awesome but I just lack that fascination for them these days. If not dragons, what animal/creature do I like most then? ....I guess goats... goats are metal!
Well, come up with a cool goat-related name and start going by that. Who knows, perhaps it'll catch on just as much as Bahamut did back in the day. What's that goat-headed deity called... :::googles it::: Baphomet? There you go.
Baphomet even looks somewhat similar to Bahamut, so it's perfect! Not sure if it sounds similar, as I have no bloody idea how to pronounce that one. (Bah-fo-met? I presume, but... not sure)
