Congratulations To

NewsReporter: 19,000 exp.

So, what do you guys think of this?:

I'm pretty excited about the idea (maybe it'll shave a year or so off the amount of time I have left before level 60.) :P

So, is the qualification still the top 2,000 in exp. for the monthly voting? I did get invited to vote for January, I'm just not sure if this is still the case...

First one (as you see on the picture) is far better, even my sister agrees.

So, that's the one she (your sister) didn't do, then? :P

I haven't had a relationship before. :P I can't argue to myself about how far I have to go to see her but at least I am somewhat nearby. Of course, nothing would beat being together all the time but if living arrangements are to be changed, that's a bit of a way off.

Wanting to be together all the time is to be expected, but it will tend to get a somewhat stale after a while. (Even if that may be hard to believe now.) Being apart for just long enough for you guys to really start missing each other isn't a bad thing at all, in the long run. :)

I'd rather they don't.
I'm pretty sure they won't.
We all can't be here forever and it already took 22 years just to get to 500 episodes.

Exactly. So, I don't think they will put out another 500 episodes.

But when it gets too stormy, though...
Then you can just stay inside, haha.
Just hope the storm only happens when you're not needing to go anywhere.

But the same is true for any other extreme weather conditions. ;)

Busy in the real world, that's good for sure. My habits with posting on Wednesdays and Saturdays vary. Because I'll be out all day, I might be too lazy to even post at all then. Heh, no wonder my progress to 30k posts has been slower than a drone metal song.

I try to post daily, but it is becoming difficult. Having to post my lists on here at night is certainly a culture shock for me...

The Liverpool anthem? No...
I love that song, even though I dislike Liverpool FC. Being a Villa fan has nothing to do with me wanting to sing that song.
Eh, you know me with not being into football. Although, everyone in the family who watches football are LFC supporters.

So? It's a good song!

Good man! We may be occupied in the real world but we'll still find our time to deposit. :D

So, this game of Challenge and Defiance continues on Into The Darkness. I fear The Stars Look Down upon us mortal men with Grand Designs of mighty puns and weep at our careless ambition. For when The Battle has ended, who will remain Between Sun and Moon to bear the Scars? It has become apparent to me that this is not my Freewill, yet I fear the Lessons will be learned too late In The End...

I'm at a Crossroads here - do I continue, or do I just let him win? Nah, I still have Hope and Vital Signs and I still want the Limelight! It may be a Sweet Miracle if I do win, but I will learn the Lessons that come from each and every one of these song titles.

Out of all the ideas for bonus EXP, this is quite possibly the least horrible I've heard yet. Although this can't apply to everyone as it covers top 10,000 active users in EXP, it's still a large majority of us so everyone getting +50 EXP for doing this is pretty fair to me. However, this will completely ruin deposit rates altogether and getting an additional 50 EXP each month would put me well above 100% deposit rate within a few months time. Personally I'd like to hear feedback from EVERYONE who is an active depositer on this site. As many of us have adapted to a system for almost a decade, if not, more, this could be something the staff may implement so if you're not happy with the idea, best speaking against it now!

However, in my own opinion, this would be acceptable. It'll encourage to check out the best content from each month and give them some viewings, then make a judgment on what's the best content from each month. I for one don't mind the idea of gaining extra EXP from this and it's a lot better than the referral system, getting extra EXP via gaining certain amount of medals/medal points, giving bonus EXP to a random user each month to replace the $100 monthly draw for depositers and other bullshit that I've heard on this site in the past.

Frontal laser cannon? What, do I lose the ability to jizz?

No, you just jizz lasers that deal death to those you deem unfit to enter the Portal. There is no compromise here. (Yes, you get a blam-cannon for a save milestone. I didn't think that one though. Deal with it.) :P

Nice, but do you have to parachute in? That's fucking too much.

Ether jet packs or we ride in on winged washing machines -which is more believable? lmao

I always preferred Glamdring.

Glamdring is awesome, too; it's on my LOTR sword wishlist. It's just the big, broad curve of Orcrist's blade that I love so much. The thing is though, if I get Orcrist, it's going to set off a chain reaction where I'll have to also get Glamdring and Sting. That way I'll have the complete set of the swords that were found in the troll's cave. That's going total at least $500. Fuck.

Wait, what?!

Ah, but I'm giddy, thinking of what it would do for MY deposit rating! Though, if byteslinger programmed NG log to factor in an additional 50 exp per month for users with an exp. rank of 10,000 or lower you could theoretically keep
the deposit ratings intact, right? (Like, think of the bonus exp. as a single, monthly deposit that could be missed just like a normal one.)

Definitely. I just hope they do change the notification to a PM instead of that little message at the top of the page -it's kind of hard to notice...

Those things tend to be really pricey and I'm already trying to get some plushies that are worth like 40.

Yeah, they're not cheap, but I kind of have a thing for swords -especially swords from movies/games that I like. I've got my eye on the Witchking's sword next, so I can have a little "good versus evil" theme going on. :P At least that one is significantly cheaper than Anduril was.

So marriage would be considered stale? :P

Marriage does become stale for a lot of people, unfortunately. I'm just saying that the dynamic of a relationship changes once some time has passed. (And that doesn't always mean it gets stale, btw)

Right now I'll admit that the days when I can see her are by far the most exciting but I feel somewhere down the road there needs to be a bigger commitment for your love partner.

And that's all you should be concerned about right now. (That, and what you're getting her for Valentine's Day!) Take things slowly, have fun and experience life together over a long period of time. If you're still serious about each other after some time, then maybe you'll have bigger things to think about. I'm sure you'll know when the time is right to get more involved -just don't do anything too crazy too fast. ;)

My advice, anyway. :P

I'm still weary about it but the system is still consistent so it does work. I wouldn't dramatically boost up my progress to level 60; I'll only take two months less. Getting 50 bonus EXP won't shoot me up there in a year's time.

Of course. Things should only be small right now but if we can plan things together to do different stuff, that's always welcome. I still have to worry about getting a full-time job so if I get somewhere with that, it will allow bigger commitments whenever I feel it's right.

The top 10,000 is quite a lot on it's own -the top ACTIVE 10,000, now I bet that stretches pretty far back. At least the vast majority of dedicated users will be able to participate in the voting and exp. bonus. (If the latter happens.)

I wouldn't be surprised if she finds a way around it.

Hopefully. If not, you could still calculate your own deposit rating easily enough by keeping track of how many months the extra 50 exp. has been in effect for and subtract that amount from your total exp. then calculate the percent. (That's assuming you haven't missed any of the bonus exp...)

I wish I could come up with something better, but I'm terrible at math. :(

I loved the riddle game scene with Gollum and that part in Rivendell with all those original actors from LOTR was awesome! The only thing I can say is I thought it was a bit on the light side at times, as far as the comic relief went in some of the more serious scenes. (like with the Goblin King, for example.)

Personally, I kind of enjoyed the somewhat lighter undertone. It suits the book a lot better too.

The riddle scene with Gollum was excellently executed in my opinion. I was a bit worried they were going to cut that scene a lot, show like two riddles and move on, but they gave it a proper amount of time.

Anyway, I can honestly say that I'm glad they broke this up into 3 movies now. :P (I can't wait to see Beorn -he should be pretty early on in the next movie...)

As much as I enjoyed it, I still don't think three films was really necessary. Two, maybe, but three feels a bit like milking considering the book is only what.. 300 pages thick?

The top 10,000 is quite a lot on it's own -the top ACTIVE 10,000, now I bet that stretches pretty far back. At least the vast majority of dedicated users will be able to participate in the voting and exp. bonus. (If the latter happens.)

Indeed. Auz's idea for not putting any barriers for active depositers sounds fair but on the other hand, I can sense alt abuse with them. Heh, I could even vote in the monthly voting for each of my alts and they all get their bonus EXP but with this case it really should only be one user per vote. Having alts is one thing, having them to participate in monthly voting is not cool. I'll say right now that I will definitely not make any of my alts get extra EXP from this.

It can be difficult if one doesn't log in NG stats for 6 days and gets +60 EXP as a result making the system think they got the extra EXP from the monthly voting. I suppose you can track the deposit rate on your own but that's all going to be manual.

I'm still weary about it but the system is still consistent so it does work. I wouldn't dramatically boost up my progress to level 60; I'll only take two months less. Getting 50 bonus EXP won't shoot me up there in a year's time.
It would get me to level 60 about 9 months faster. Sounds ok to me.

When you look at it that way, it doesn't sound that bad. Maybe they can compensate the challenge of the level system by adding ten more. It'll set the bar higher for the top users again but at the same time making progress a bit faster.

Tom did state that they'll add a PM notification for when the monthly votes arrive. There's no better way to be notified of things than a number next to your inbox.
True. Seeing PMs and friend requests are always exciting and are never missed. :P

Except I dread certain users PM'ing me.

I always like round numbers and 25 works fine. Stopping at 400 episodes with the movie would have been another reasonable place to retire but they had to go further.

I thought the same thing before I watched it, but now that I've seen it, I have faith the next two will be just as good. At least they'll be less apt to leave out huge parts of the story, like they did with LOTR.

I originally submitted the Idea of EXP reward to Tom, with the current system for levels it works because its a once a month reward and there will be pre-requisites for it to apply so it shouldn't effect the level system to much.

I don't like the idea, as although I'm an active depositer, I don't vote on the best of the month, as I don't have time to go in depth and pick out the top 10. Sure, a couple of minutes will tell me Blam or a Save score, but to watch each of the whole pieces would take a day.

I think I'm approaching Red Sector "A" on this one, losing touch here. You can have the Limelight, if you come up with a pun for O Baterista, deal?

I think they tried not to make it as boring as Fellowship. Lesson learned.
Fellowship was boring, compared to the other two, but it did have its moments. (Boromir's last stand against the Orcs and of course Gandalf vs the Balrog both give me goosebumps.)

Yeah, but those films got better as they went on through the series. This works for Star Wars, until Episode VII is released :P

I'm not sure that any Mrs Coop would like having a blam cannon inserted in her, lest she give birth to a P-Bot...

Fuck.

WWWWAAAAAAAYYYYY hahaha I was worried by the news of horse meat in the Lidl lasagnes but then I thought to myself that I haven't really had a bad tasting one. Maybe the french are on to something with this horse meat.

They regulate it, so it's more likely to be fit for human consumption than some horse that was killed over here...

I wasn't being sarcastic; I was agreeing with you.

Oh. Sorry, the [:P] made it look like sarcasm...

I think I'm approaching Red Sector "A" on this one, losing touch here. You can have the Limelight, if you come up with a pun for O Baterista, deal?
I've spent most of my time playing guitar in recent years, but I started with the drums. You Bet Your Life I'd play the "roll" of O Baterista for Peart at the Rush concert this May! Though I somehow don't think I'd make it Home Again, once the crowd found out they've been cheated!

Miming playing the drums is a difficult skill. You'd need a Passage to Bangkok to get away from that sort of crowd ;)

Cut To The Chase, Coop! Is this really your Grand Finale? I really can't wait until Bastille Day to find out if I've won or not...

By the Shapes Of Things, I thought it was, but Circumstances have changed. I'm a Working Man and I will continue to work at this!

Yeah, but those films got better as they went on through the series. This works for Star Wars, until Episode VII is released :P
Never got into Star Wars; I'm more of a medieval fantasy kind of guy.

Fair enough. Almost a waste of a song, considering that John WIlliams' finest composition just came on iTunes ;)

I'm not sure that any Mrs Coop would like having a blam cannon inserted in her, lest she give birth to a P-Bot...
This is strictly your e-penis I speak of, which exists only in the digital world. Your real penis is not affected in any way -Mrs Coop need not fret. :P

Thank god, or any divine being who coincidentally happens to exist. When you've got a unit like mine, you will not accept trade ins!

Drink plenty of Red Bull.
I've actually been cutting back on the stuff. I used to go through a 16 oz can every day. Never got wings. :(

I only drank it with Tequilla. never liked the stuff.

Better get saving, then ;)
I have the money to buy them now, I just have much better things to spend it on. Like bills and groceries. :(

Ah, yes. I dream of the day when I get those sorts of things :P

Nothing that some sleeping pills in your meal couldn't fix...
Only if the horse in my Findus Beef Lasagne was given Ketamine!
That can be arranged.

Are you sure? 4.5 months to get 10,000 B/P? More like May 6th 2007...
