Yeah, I think most people in our age demographic need to find better accommodation.
If our age demographic had a better chance at getting work.

It's not quite that black and white. It will come, you've got to be positive.

I'll only need money for transport (60) food (10) and booze.... Uh, I dunno how much that will be. I'd say around 100 for the whole weekend is actually not bad. Then again, I could consider day 0 better this time and I won't bother with the aftermath after last time.
I've not got a clue how much I need, but it's car time and that puts a lot higher a demand on my resources.
I honestly wonder how long I'll remain without a car. In this modern age, it seems better off not using a car.

To a certain extent, I agree. I think that it's too expensive to go and hire a car, just when you need one at the moment. Sad, but true.

And why would you think that, with quite a few moderators, past and present, posting in here?

In answer to your query, yes, they are banned, on the wider world, but this keeps it all in one place, thus not annoying the layman of Newgrounds.

I reached the top 50 of the top medal point users list in under six months (4/12/12 - 9/30/12) and fewer than 250 games (picky -- I played 248 different flashies). Could this level up lounge be for milestones under specific conditions as well, or do they not matter? Anyhow, my 86,905 points brought me to #49 on that list of top medal scorers.

People always say "the cold war is over", but I'm not sure if I can believe them or not.
Well, judging by the way that Russia and China are dealing with Syria, it's still in full swing.

And I wouldn't be surprised, if the "old rivals" USA and Russia would still be snooping around in each others affairs.

But there is some dramatic music after Zoidberg demands MOOOOORRREEE!
That's just a note or three. Hardly Beethoven's 5th, is it?
It still is "dramatic music".
Oh, but now you're just bandying terms around. Like in Fantasia, when the narrator says "would the soundtrack kindly produce a sound?" and it produces a random sound that lasts less than a second. Still a sound, but not what we were after.

I'm not. It doesn't matter if it's only three notes or less. It sounds dramatic, it is music. So, it's "dramatic music". The Halloween theme (the main part of it) has only three notes as well: C, F and C#.

Nice story. But the DM should never get frustrated. Nothing better than a party that nearly kills themselves due to stupid arguments. Less work for the DM. ^^
Oh, I've learned from these issues and gone on to run my own games. I think I'm doing marginally better.

It also depends a lot on the players. In my old group, we more often than not got ourselves into trouble because of stupid actions from the players... ok, it didn't really help that one of the characters had a really low intelligence (he was a fighter, so... ^^). So the player only played his character. And he did it very well.

Do ghouls still have to go to the bathroom? I mean, they aren't exactly alive...
They're still human. Just blood bound mortals, with a little Potence and possibly Fortitude added.
Oh, right. Maybe I was thinking of some other Ghouls from some other universe.
Ghouls in D&D are dead - they eat rotting flesh and can paralyse just by touch.

Never encountered Ghouls in D&D, we didn't play it that much.

I could have played that into an NPC encounter. "And yet the two members of house Ravnos still live? One day, their luck will run out, I am sure."
There where no NPCs around. We where in the middle of an ocean and our helicopter just crashed. Because the pilot turned into a vampire as well...
Oh... that's not fun.

Good thing Vampires are already dead. We managed to "survive" (ie, stay undead).

The most expensive assasination of all time.
That we know of.

It's also one of the most weird assasinations of all time.

It also depends a lot on the players. In my old group, we more often than not got ourselves into trouble because of stupid actions from the players... ok, it didn't really help that one of the characters had a really low intelligence (he was a fighter, so... ^^). So the player only played his character. And he did it very well.
Fair enough - I've had experiences of players who play to break the game. Just how it goes, I'm afraid.
Nothing beats good play of character. When I first started, I took the easy way out and played a Malkav. So any blunder I would do, I could blame it on me being not totally sane, haha.
My first character was an Assimaar - I had to assassinate the prince of the town, then when that failed, I ran. I was blood hunted in a "LARP" fashion, which I evaded with a change of clothes and the help of a few friends from college playing pool in the local pubs.

You mean Assamite? And I never played LARP, I always found it very strange...

Oh, right. Maybe I was thinking of some other Ghouls from some other universe.
Ghouls in D&D are dead - they eat rotting flesh and can paralyse just by touch.
Never encountered Ghouls in D&D, we didn't play it that much.
Fair enough - not everyone's cup of tea, I suppose.
Well, the world is great. I enjoy Baldur's Gate and other D&D based computer games. But the system is too fucked up to be really enjoyable in a P&P session.
It's getting better - look at how bad the system was in the 70s.

Yeah, first we had "Advanced" D&D and then everything was even more confusing...

There where no NPCs around. We where in the middle of an ocean and our helicopter just crashed. Because the pilot turned into a vampire as well...
Oh... that's not fun.
Good thing Vampires are already dead. We managed to "survive" (ie, stay undead).
Well, the helicopter was likely to explode, so rotshreck tests all around!
I don't know if it exploded or not. But in a group of 7 (I think) only 1 Ravnos survived (the others where "unconsius", ie they didn't have any blood left), and he had enough blood points left to bring one member of the group back to unlife. So of course he chose the other Ravnos, hehe.
Well, if they can find any cattle around, they can sort out the rest coming back. Emergency crews have enough blood, too ;)

I think we never continued that adventure for too long after the helicopter crashed. Too bad. Would have been fun to go hunting for some fishes!

I've got to get a job sorted - I'm just spending the few minutes before work being really pissed off about trying to book a hotel in French. No disrespect meant to any Frenchies reading this, because the guy wanted me to change a hotel booking 36 hours before the guys arrive, for a date they aren't booked for.

When my money builds up a bit next week, I should easily book train tickets to cover London. I know I'm lucky that I don't have hotel expenses to cover down there and I'm most grateful for that this time. Over the time my money is taking a toll so it's only a matter of time until bankruptcy.

You sure showed up at the right time. This Saturday your very own thread here will be 10 years old. Crazy to imagine a thread on the internet has lasted this long with constant activity.

Good thing that I don't have to work today. It's National Day!

Trying to sort out hotels in France with 36 hours notice, when it appears that the centre of Dijon is fully booked... Great.

Yes, but some of those have been really weird. Particularly the ones that look like accidents / suicide.

It also depends a lot on the players. Yes, Assimaar is a plane-touched D&D race (half-angel) Driving into the centre of Worcester, pulling up at a parking space and popping the boot, to the lads grabbing their gear, including a SPAS-12 replica shotgun, for BB rounds was a little worrying. Especially when the lad in question grabs the gun (with no ammunition) and says "right lads, off to the bank!"

Advanced D&D still had THAC0 scores. Nowadays, you get an armour class of 10, plus your armour mod, dexterity mod (reduced for armour manoeuvrability), a modifier for the dodge feat, on one attacker per round, plus any cover, shield or spell / magic items you have. That number is equal to what the attacker must roll on the d20 to hit you. Their base attack bonus, plus strength (or dexterity - feats apply) modifier, plus any magical bonuses. Much easier to work out.

I don't know if it exploded or not. But in a group of 7 (I think) only 1 Ravnos survived (the others where "unconsius", ie they didn't have any blood left), and he had enough blood points left to bring one member of the group back to unlife. So of course he chose the other Ravnos, hehe.

Tonight is the night where Red Dwarf returns to TV and not in a crappy special like Back to Earth.

Also, thinking positive for job applications only for them to turn you down no matter how much enthusiasm you had? Fuck you.
